A Past Life for Handaka Vijjananda

In working on the Indonesian version of my book, Born Again, there was a person I wanted to determine a past life for.  This individual is Handaka Vijjananda, who established the Ehipassiko Foundation, an organization dedicated to spreading the wisdom of Buddhism in that part of the world. His foundation translated and published my book in Indonesia. I am indebted to Brenda ie-McRae, a past life regression therapist in Jakarta, Indonesia, for indroducing me to him.

In working with Handaka, I found him to be a very impressive young man.  He is trained as a pharmacist, runs a pharmaceutical export business, is a devoted father, yet makes time to translate and publish books on Buddhism.

Individuals tend to pursue similar activities from one lifetime to another and those who write books in one incarnation oftentimes have written books in prior incarnations.  It is easier to locate past lifetimes that can be historically validated for writers, as they leave a record.  Accordingly, I wondered about a past lifetime for Handaka.

In a session with Kevin Ryerson, Ahtun Re told me that Handaka had an incarnation as a native of Hawaii, who was involved in the creation of the written Hawaiian language.  When I asked Ahtun Re how I would find this person, he told me that this individual is historically well known and that there is only one such individual.

Henry Opukaha’ia or Obookiah: A Founder of the Written Hawaiian Language

After doing some research, I found an article entitled, Henry Opukaha’ia: The Youth Who Changed Hawai’i, written by Betty Fullard-Leo, in which she wrote:

“The work Henry Opukaha’ia did on translating the Bible and recording the Hawaiian language in a grammar/dictionary/spelling book, paved the way for the missionaries to print the first Hawaiian primer and Bible stories in the Hawaiian language.”

I found a portrait of Henry and noted that he bore a resemblance to Handaka.  In a subsequent session with Kevin Ryerson, I asked Ahtun Re if Handaka Vijjananda is the reincarnation of Henry Opukaha’ia.  Ahtun Re affirmed the match.

When I passed this information on to Handaka, he and his family related to the match for reasons that will be explained in a moment.  Let us first briefly review the life of this pioneer of the Hawaiian language.

Henry Opukaha’ia’s Early Life and Losses in Hawaii

It is thought that Henry Opukaha’ia was born in 1792 on the Big Island of Hawaii.  As a young boy, he grew up in the turmoil and war that followed the death of the old tribal ruler, Alap’i. His successor, Kamehameha, became the ruler of all the Hawaiian Islands, but who got involved in conflict over control of the Big Island.

In this war between rival royal factions, Henry’s parents were killed.  He later was adopted by an uncle who was a priest or “kahuna.”  He later lost an aunt for her violation of a religious “kapu,” which means a taboo or religious rule that cannot be broken.  Betty Fullard-Leo narrates the turn of events:

“Henry, who is thought to have been ten or twelve at the time, fled from the rampaging warriors carrying his infant brother on his back. A spear thrown by one of the soldiers found its mark, and the baby brother was killed. Henry survived, but the same soldier who had killed his parents became his guardian for the next year and a half.

During this time, Henry discovered that a kahuna at a nearby temple was his uncle, so he was allowed to go to live with his grandmother and this uncle. While he was visiting an aunt in a nearby village, soldiers came to take her prisoner for some infraction of the kapu system, but Henry once again survived by escaping through a hole in the grass house. While he watched, a soldier threw this aunt over a cliff to her death.”

Henry Opukaha’ia Sails for Connecticut on the “Triumph”

It is sad that Henry, orphaned by a tribal war, had to witness so much additional violence.  It is understandable why he would want to leave Hawaii for a more peaceful place.  When a ship named the Triumph came into port, the captain, a man named Brintnall, invited Henry and Hopo’o, another Hawaiian boy, to have dinner on the vessel and to spend the night.

Subsequently, Henry, at the age of 16, was allowed to stay on board and participate in the ship’s journeys.  Regarding his travels on board the Triumph, Betty Fullard-Leo writes:

“The sailors called him Opukaha’ia Henry, and spelled his last name the way they pronounced it, Obookiah. During the next two years, Henry sailed on the Triumph to the Seal Islands (situated between Alaska and Japan), back to Hawai’i, to Macao, and around the Cape of Good Hope, landing in New York in 1809. On board he developed a friendship with a Christian sailor named Russell Hubbard, who began teaching Henry how to read and write, often using the Bible as a primer.”

When the ship landed in the United States, Henry moved to New Haven, Connecticut, to live with Captain Brintnall and his family.  There he continued his education and learned about the Christian religion, which he found more appealing than his native Hawaiian religion, in which idols were worshiped.  For a period of time, he lived with the very devout family of the president of Yale College.  To earn a living, he worked on farms in Connecticut and New Hampshire, though he continued to study whenever possible.

Henry Converts to Christianity and Translates the Bible into Hawaiian

Reincarnation CaseschristianityreincarnationpastlivescrossBy 1814, Henry began speaking publicly at church groups in Connecticut.  Further, he began translating the Bible into Hawaiian and he created a dictionary and grammar book in the Hawaiian language.  Fullard-Leo, in her article, continues the story:

“People in Connecticut had begun to talk of sending missionaries to foreign countries-Hawai’i, in particular, as several young native Christians (like Henry) would be able to pave the way. Henry continued to fill his inquisitive mind with knowledge at Yale College. Not only did he undertake Latin, Hebrew, geometry and geography, he improved his English by writing the story of his life in a book called Memoirs of Henry Obookiah. By 1815, he had finished writing his personal history and had begun to keep a diary that detailed his feelings about his faith.”

At 26, Henry Dies Before He Could Return to Hawaii to Spread Christianity to the Islands

Henry then embarked on missionary training, so that he could spread the message of Christianity to his native Hawaii and around the world.  Unfortunately, before having a chance to participate in a mission, Henry developed typhus fever and died on February 17, 1818.  Regarding the end of his life and the impact that he had, Betty Fullard-Leo writes:

“Attendants noted a heavenly smile on his face. He was 26 years old. Among his last words were ‘Alloah o e’–translated in his memoirs as, ‘My love be with you.’

The little book about his life was printed and circulated after his death. It inspired 14 missionaries to volunteer to carry his message to the Sandwich Islands. Of those who sailed on the Thaddeus on October 23, 1819, only Samuel Ruggles had met Henry face-to-face. The work Henry did on translating the bible and recording the Hawaiian language in a grammar/dictionary/spelling book, paved the way for the missionaries to print the first Hawaiian primer and Bible stories in the Hawaiian language.

Henry’s body was buried in a hillside cemetery in Cornwall, Connecticut, where it remained for 185 years. In 1993, a group of his descendants, spearheaded by Deborah Lee, brought the body home to the Big Island. The remains were re-interred at Kahikolu Cemetery in Napo’opo’o, near Kealakekua Bay in South Kona. A plaque marks the spot, cared for by Ka ‘Ohe Ola Hou, a group formed to perpetuate the achievements of the devout young man who is believed to be the first Hawaiian convert to Christianity–a young man whose zeal was the reason the first missionaries came to Hawai’i in 1820.”

Similarities Between Henry Opukaha’ia and his Reincarnation, Handaka Vijjananda

In cases featured in Born Again, we have observed how predispositions, talents and life patterns can repeat from one incarnation to another.  Handaka Vijjananda relates to Henry Opukaha’ia due to the many parallels that exist between them, such as:

  • Holy book translation: Henry worked on translation of the Bible into the Hawaiian language.  Handaka has translated Buddhist texts into the Indonesian language.
  • Creation of a translation dictionary: Henry is credited with the creation of the first dictionary or primer for English/Hawaiian translation.  Handaka is creating a similar translation dictionary to facilitate conversion of Buddhist texts written in the Indian Pali language into the Indonesian language.
  • Public speaking: Just as Henry gave public speeches to church groups, Handaka gives public presentations on Buddhism and character building.
  • Missionary work: Henry was being trained to perform Christian missionary work, though he died before he began to serve as a missionary.  Handaka has done missionary work for many years and recently served in Aceh and Medan, Indonesia, where a tsunami struck in 2004.

Handaka notes that the primary difference in the two lifetimes is that he was serving Christianity in his lifetime as Henry, while he serves Buddhism in his contemporary incarnation.   He also has a more universal and inclusive point of view, which is characteristic of people who believe in reincarnation.

Reincarnation and Change of Religion

Ahtun Re has revealed that Handaka’s family in Indonesia was also incarnate in Hawaii as the extended family of Henry, some of whom, we learned, suffered violent and cruel deaths.  In the reincarnation case of Henry Opukaha’ia | Handaka Vijjananda, we see in microcosm humanity’s path in becoming more spiritually evolved.

Henry was born into a land with tribal war and strict religious rules and taboos.  Breaking a taboo could result in persecution and even death.  Henry left Hawaii and became a believer in Christianity, a religion that focuses on forgiveness, charity and doing onto others as you would have done to you.  Still, Christians are separated from those of different belief systems and wars have been fought based on different beliefs.  In contemporary times, Handaka believes in Buddhism, which reveres compassion and embraces reincarnation.

Objective evidence of reincarnation, which demonstrates that we can change religion, nationality, race and ethnic affiliation from one incarnation to another, is the ultimate source of a universal life view.

Let us hope that evidence of reincarnation will spread throughout the world, bringing greater peace and tolerance to the planet.  Let us thank Henry Opukaha’ia | Handaka Vijjananda for helping bring evidence of reincarnation to Indonesia.

Nicole Arciola has a special interest in the silent movie era as she herself had an incarnation as a Harry Langdon, a comedic actor of that time. By clicking on her name, provided above, one can review her case. She has proposed reincarnartion cases from that time. As an example, she proposed the following past life match:

Joaquin Phoenix as the Reincarnation of German Actor Conrad Veidt: “Jokers” in Two Lifetimes

Harold Lloyd as a Past Life of Ryan Reynolds

Recently, Nicole proposed that Ryan Reynolds is the reincarnation of Harold Lloyd, which was confirmed in a session with Kevin Ryerson. Nicole pointed out that Reynolds and Lloyd share the same good looks, though the resemblance is not obvious as in many photos as Lloyd is usually captured wearing bulky glasses.

Nicole explained that Harold Lloyd wanted to be a comedic actor, like his peer Charlie Chaplin, but Lloyd was told that he was too handsome to be funny, so Lloyd adopted eyeglasses to look nerdy. Lloyd, by the way, though not as famous as Chaplin, actually made more money through his movies than did Chaplin.

In addition to being humorous in his films, Harold Lloyd also was a daredevil stuntman in his movies. Ryan Reynolds, in addition to performing in his staple of romantic comedies, has also played a superhero role as in his Deadpool movies.

Elon Musk as the Reincarnation of Thomas Edison and Claire Boucher, known as Grimes, as Edison’s Wife Mina

On May 4, 2020, Elon Musk and his partner, Grimes, had a baby boy who they named X Æ A-12. One interpretation of this name is that X is an unknown variable in mathematics, Æ represents artificial intelligence and is pronounced “Ash,” and A-12 refers to the couple’s favorite aircraft, Lockheed Martin’s Archangel 12. In sum, the name is pronounced X Ash Archangel 12.

Grimes seems to have affection for mathematical symbols as since 2018, she has gone by the name “c,” referring to the symbol for the speed of light.

Previously, I posted an article in which Elon Musk is identified as the reincarnation of Thomas Edison.

Nobel Laureate Kary Mullis, PCR Creator, and his Wife Nancy Support their Past Lives as Benjamin and Julia Rush

Married couples often reincarnate together to become spouces once again. One such case involves Nobel Laurate Kary Mullis and his wife Nancy Mullis. Kary invented Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) which is the basis of DNA analysis and fingerprinting. It has been stated that biologic science can be divided into two eras, one before PCR and the era after PCR.

5 thomas edison elon musk reincarnationKary and Nancy Mullis both agreed to be reincarnation cases in my first book, Return of the Revolutionaries, in which they are identified as Benjamin and Julia Rush in past lives. Benjamin Rush was a friend to both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. Rush called the duo the “North and South Poles of the American Revolution.”

Grimes as the Reincarnation of Mina Edison

Reflecting on the Rush | Mullis cases and others that are similar, it was natural to wonder if Elon Musk and Grimes were together in the era of Thomas Edison. In reading about Edison, I found a likely candidate in Edison’s second wife, Mina (pronounced my-na), for a past life of Grimes.

In a session with Kevin Ryerson, Ahtun Re, the spirit being who has demonstrated the ability to make past life matches with a high degree of accuracy, affirmed that Grimes is the reincarnation of Mina Edison.

Mina was born on July 6, 1865, the seventh child of inventor Lewis Miller and his wife, Mary. Mina married Thomas Edison when she was 20 years old, about half the age of Edison at the time of their union. As Thomas was often in his lab, Mina took charge of the household and gave herself the title “Home Executive.” Mina became a leader in the community in which they lived.

During the Great Depression, Mina herself conducted a study on the effects of unemployment on local medical facilities. After her husband’s death in 1931, Mina founded the Thomas Alva Edison Foundation. Mina died in 1947.

Past Life Traits of Tech Names: Dot, Dash, C and X Æ A-12

Claire Elise Boucher was born in Vancouver, Canada on March 17, 1988, 41 years after Mina had died. For college, Clair attended McGill University in Montreal and one of her majors was neuroscience, which seems to reflect Mina’s interest in health care.

Clair began recording music under the name Grimes in 2007. Starting in 2018, she adoped the nickname “c,” the symbol for the speed of light. In that year, she also started a relationship with Elon Musk, which resulted in the creation of their son, X Æ A-12.

In an amusing correlate, Thomas Edison gave two of his sons from a prior marriage the nick names “Dot” and “Dash,” in reference to Morse Code. Edison taught Mina Morse Code so that they could communicate in secret around her family and he reportedly proposed marriage to her in Morse Code, which I think is quite romantic. Morse code is a precursor to binary language used in computer programming, where 1 and 0 are used instead of dot and dash.

As such, technologic names and nicknames are observed in the lives of Thomas Edison | Elon Musk and Mina Edison | Grimes.

Anthony Fauci and Thomas Tuttle

As the United States dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, Alex Knapp, a Senior Editor at Forbes, wrote an article on the similarities between Dr. Anthony Fauci and another pandemic interventionist from 100 years ago, Dr. Thomas Tuttle. Mr. Knapp even noted that the two bore a physical resemblance and the article featured an image of Fauci and Tuttle side by side.

A friend of mine forwarded Mr. Knapp’s article to me as she knew that I preach, based on evidence, that from one lifetime to another we have similar facial features, personalities, talents and careers. As such, it was natural to wonder if Dr. Fauci is the reincarnation of Dr. Tuttle.

Dr. Fauci is Affirmed to be the Reincarnation of Dr. Tuttle

I have worked with trance medium Kevin Ryerson on a monthly basis since 2001. Kevin is featured in four of Shirley MacLaine’s books and he played himself in her movie Out on a Limb. Kevin channels a spirit being named Ahtun Re who has demonstrated the ability to make past life matches with a high degree of accuracy.

In a session with Kevin that I had on April 30, 2020, Ahtun Re confirmed that Dr. Anthony Fauci is the reincarnation of Dr. Thomas Tuttle.

One feature of this reincarnation case is that the lifetimes of Tuttle and Fauci overlap by two years, as Tuttle died in 1942, while Fauci was born in 1940. The Dr. Fauchi of the 1918 Spanish Flu, by Alex Knapp-Forbes

Article Text: More than a century ago, epidemiologist Dr. Thomas Tuttle prescribed face masks and social distancing to slow the influenza pandemic. He made a lot of enemies—but it worked.

In January 1919, Washington’s health commissioner urged legislators in the state capital, Olympia, to enforce strict measures against the spread of the Spanish flu, which had just ended a deadly second wave in America. Recommended restrictions included banning dances and other social gatherings, as well as limits on how many people could attend public meetings and how far apart they should sit from one another. Both the city and county voted against those measures. In response, the commissioner sought to get the State Board of Health to enforce its police powers against the county.

Instead, he lost his job.

A public health official getting fired over unpopular social distancing measures during a pandemic has an eerie echo today, when business leaders and politicians are chafing against restrictions urged by authorities to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. But it was precisely these restrictions that enabled Seattle and other cities in Washington to protect themselves from the Spanish flu—and similar actions helped Kansas abate another influenza wave in the fall of 1919.

At the center of public health efforts in both states was a practical, plainspoken, bespectacled scientist: Dr. Thomas Dyer Tuttle, who became a powerful, if polarizing, figure in the fight against the Spanish flu—not unlike Dr. Anthony Fauci is perceived today, in the battle against COVID-19.

Apart from the passing physical resemblance, both Dr. Tuttle and Dr. Fauci fought global pandemics late in their long public health careers and the perilous balance of science and sociology that entails. Both men attended Ivy League medical schools. Both were commissioned officers in the United States Public Health Service. And both had experience fighting previous epidemics. Fauci first came to prominence in the 1980s as the leading HIV/AIDS researcher for Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. For Tuttle, it was a resurgence of smallpox at the turn of the 20th century.

Tuttle was born in Fulton, Missouri, in 1869. He was the son of a grocer who had married into wealth—his mother’s family, according to a local history, had a home encompassing about a quarter of a city block. He received his bachelor’s degree at local Westminster College (where Winston Churchill would deliver his famous “Iron Curtain” speech some 56 years after Dr. Tuttle had graduated). Tuttle then moved to New York City in 1889 to obtain a medical degree at what was then known as Columbia College.

During that first year of medical school, he unwittingly found himself in the midst of one of the deadliest flu pandemics, the so-called “Russian flu,” which had killed tens of thousands in Europe that fall and arrived in New York in December. That flu would end up causing more than 2,500 deaths in New York before subsiding in February 1890.

After graduating from Columbia in 1892, Tuttle worked at New York’s Mount Sinai hospital. He later returned to Missouri, where he married his wife, Lucile, in 1896. A few years later, the couple moved to Montana where Tuttle pursued a medical career and became Secretary and Executive Officer of the state’s Board of Health in 1903.

It was in this role that Dr. Tuttle first learned to value science over unpopular public opinion. In 1909, Tuttle made headlines in local Montana newspapers—ironically, by coming out against quarantines—much to the consternation of the public. Smallpox had ravaged the population in the early 1900s, but Dr. Tuttle’s reasoning behind the order was that lifting quarantines would encourage people to vaccinate. (In 1905, the Supreme Court case Jacobson v. Massachusetts upheld states’ authority to require smallpox vaccinations in the interest of public health.) Tuttle and the state’s Board of Health had promoted mandatory smallpox vaccinations by offering them free of charge and by circulating a Tuttle-penned pamphlet touting their benefits. Those instructions included sharp words for the anti-vaxxers of the day:

“It is the firm belief of the author that the most effectual way to rid this country of smallpox would be to give a few months warning, in order that all might have time to be successfully vaccinated,” Dr. Tuttle wrote. “And then let any cases of smallpox that might appear go at large, without disinfection, so that those who would not be vaccinated might have the disease and be done with it. Such a move would result in a radical ‘change of heart’ on the part of many, if not all, ‘anti-vaccinationists.’”

In 1915, with smallpox under control in America, Dr. Tuttle accepted a new position as health commissioner of Washington. Three years later, in July 1918, the Spanish flu reached the state. The first set of infections hit the Army’s Camp Lewis, where more than 300 cases were reported. As summer went on, the number of cases appeared to decline and the “alarm went down,” says historian Gwen Whiting.

But the numbers started to creep up again in September, and public health officials became concerned about a second wave. The state’s Board of Health met in late September specifically to discuss concerns over the flu, and after the meeting Tuttle spoke to a newspaper to warn citizens that the flu would return. Because of limitations on the state Board of Health’s authority, Dr. Tuttle wasn’t able to enforce many orders until November, says Whiting. But he did use his position to encourage local officials to announce stringent measures to contain the pandemic in early October.

Dr. Tuttle, who lived in Seattle, worked closely with the local health commissioner, Dr. J.S. McBride, to manage the trajectory of flu cases. Alarmed by hundreds of hospitalized cases of flu in the nearby Naval training station, Tuttle declared that the Spanish flu had arrived in the city. Both McBride and Seattle’s mayor, Ole Hanson, acted quickly in response—taking advice from Dr. Tuttle.

Thoughts and Prayers: After closing Seattle’s churches in 1918, Mayor Ole Hanson said, “Religion which won’t keep for two weeks is not worth having.”

On October 5, 1918, Mayor Hanson laid out his measures to curb the epidemic in Seattle. “He closed the churches. He shut down public places. They even raised fines for spitting on the sidewalk,” explains Whiting. “You could be fined if you weren’t wearing a mask to get on the streetcar. All of these strict restrictions were put into place in Seattle. And other cities followed suit.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Tuttle took to the newspapers to spread health advice— sending letters to the press statewide, proclaiming that the flu might be prevented from becoming epidemic with “the earnest, conscientious and intelligent help of every citizen of the State” following a now-familiar set of precautions: Don’t sneeze or cough in your hands, keep away from crowds, and stay at home if you have any symptoms.

As with the COVID-19 pandemic, the response to Spanish flu in Seattle, Spokane and other Washington cities had parallels across the country. New York, St. Louis and Los Angeles also saw success through the use of austere public health measures, while cities such as San Francisco and Philadelphia were less restrictive and saw increased flu deaths as a result. But those higher mortality rates are also due, in part, because the severe measures simply weren’t popular. Even in Seattle, “there was a lot of protest” over public health restrictions, says Whiting.

Although Dr. Tuttle gave advice to local authorities behind the scenes, he tended to act more pragmatically as the flu progressed. He never issued a statewide lockdown, for example, because the U.S. Surgeon General had advised against it. He also lifted a statewide order to wear masks in public after Armistice Day in November 1918—partly because citizens weren’t adhering to it anyway. The end of World War I also saw an easing of health restrictions in Seattle. But it came at a cost. In early December, the flu came back. Although this time, rather than ban public gatherings, people exposed to influenza were ordered to remain in their homes.

That month, Dr. Tuttle traveled to Chicago for a national conference of the American Public Health Association dedicated to combating the disease, and that meeting appears to have hardened his resolve to be even more aggressive. Tuttle may have been pragmatic earlier in the epidemic, but he began to be more publicly exasperated at the lack of enforcement of public health laws. Tuttle’s frustrations pepper reports he prepared after this period, and he was later described by a contemporary as belonging “to that old-fashioned school of citizens who believe laws and regulations were made to be enforced.”

“Those who buried their dear ones last winter should certainly lend every effort to prevent others facing a similar loss,” Dr. Tuttle wrote in a Topeka paper on September 11, 1919. He also wrote letters to county health commissioners, urging strict enforcement of quarantines. Though not considered part of the Spanish flu pandemic, Kansas did see a high level of influenza cases in the winter of 1919-20, and Dr. Tuttle did his best to ensure local communities were prepared.

Despite the work he had done to save lives in Washington and Kansas, it’s clear that Tuttle was pessimistic about his country’s ability to prepare for the next pandemic. “As a matter of fact, we know about as little with regard to the etiology and epidemiology of influenza today as we knew two years ago,” he wrote in one report, “and owing to the inclination of our government (city, county, state and national) to provide funds for operating only when sickness is present, and to absolutely cut off any support whatsoever for the study of the epidemiology of the disease after an epidemic has passed, renders it very probable that we will meet our next epidemic (probably 20 or 30 years hence) with as little knowledge of the true nature of the disease as we had when we confronted the epidemic in the fall of 1918.”

Two years later, Tuttle resigned his role in Kansas, citing a need for a bigger salary so he could afford to pay for his son’s college education. In its biennial report, the Board of Health lamented his departure and urged that the legislature increase the salary for the role in order to secure “a man of the quality and training Kansas desires.”

His next job took Dr. Tuttle back to Montana to start a veterans hospital at Fort Harrison, which still exists today. He later moved to Chicago to practice medicine. In 1933, he and his wife retired to San Diego, where Dr. Tuttle spent his golden years gardening—on the 1940 census, he wryly noted his occupation as “orchidist” with an income of zero—before passing away in 1942.

Second Opinions: Like Dr. Tuttle’s stringent measures, Dr. Fauci’s guidelines haven’t always been popular.

Nearly 80 years after Dr. Tuttle’s death, his legacy in fighting pandemics lives on, which might have come as a surprise to him, given the pessimism he expressed in his lifetime. In 2009, a group of researchers wrote a paper comparing existing CDC guidelines on managing pandemics to those developed during the Spanish flu. The paper noted that of all the recommendations, measures Dr. Tuttle promoted—encouraging the closing of public spaces and social distancing—were still relevant in fighting epidemics today. The report even cited findings from the 1918 December meeting Dr. Tuttle attended before insisting on the draconian health measures that got him fired.

One of the coauthors of that 2009 paper?

Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Dan Abrams and John Adams Under Fire

Dan Abrams is a lawyer and media entrepreneur. Abrams received a degree in political science prior to law school. Early in his career, he worked as a reporter for Court TV where he covered the OJ Simpson case and the trials of Dr. Jack Kevorkian, who helped terminally ill people commit suicide.

In recent years, he has achieved high visibility due to being the Chief Legal Affairs Anchor for ABC News. Dan is also an author and has written books on three US Presidents, including Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.

His most recent book is John Adams Under Fire: The Founding Father’s Fight for Justice in the Boston Massacre Murder Trial. Though Adams was a fierce advocate for American independence, he also believed that the British soldiers who fired muskets upon a threatening mob should receive a fair trial. When no one else would represent them, Adams volunteered.

John Adams later wrote of the Boston Massacre: “On that night the formation of American independence was born.”

Dan Abrams wrote of Adams and his defence of the British soldiers:

“He volunteered to represent them, keeping the peace in a powder keg of a colony, and in the process created some of the foundations of what would become United States law.”

I have an interest in the American Revolution because I had an incarnation in Boston during that era. My first book, Return of the Revolutionaries: The Case for Reincarnation and Soul Groups Reunited (2003), is about a cohort from that time that has reemerged today, a cohort that includes me. In that book, I am identified as John Adams reborn.

Ian Stevenson, MD of the University of Virginia compiled over 1500 validated childhood past life memory cases that in aggregate provide proof of reincarnation. This evidence shows that we can change religion, nationality and ethnic affiliation from one lifetime to another.

Most wars are based on differences in these cultural markers of identity, so understanding that these markers are only temporary can help create greater peace. An important case in this regard, as well as others, are provided below:

Anne Frank | Barbro Karlen Reincarnation Case

Reincarnation Cases with Change in Religion, Nationality and Ethnic Affiliation

Spiritual Democracy

Reincarnation research shows that people usually do the same type of thing and follow similar career paths from one lifetime to another. Adams and his colleagues sought to create greater equality though the creation of a democratic country, the United States, which led to another revolution in France. In this way old monarchies were cast off in the name of self-rule.

Evidence of reincarnation will free us from the control of old, established religions, the monarchies of spirituality, and reveals that we truly are equal regardless of what religion, nationality or ethnic group we belong to.

Boston Massacre,
Etching by Paul Revere

Reincarnation research also allays fear of death and affirms that our souls are eternal. As I like to say:

“With compelling evidence of reincarnation, who needs faith?”

Dan Abrams as the Reincarnation of Isaiah Thomas, Publisher of the “Massachusetts Spy”

I had a hunch that Dan Abrams also was part of the American Revolution and I reasoned that he was likely a newspaper publisher, as Abrams is a reporter and media entrepreneur.

Since 2001, on roughly a monthly basis, I have been working with trance medium Kevin Ryerson who channels a spirit being named Ahtun Re, who has demonstrated the ability to make past life matches with a high degree of accuracy. In a session with Kevin over the telephone, I asked Ahtun Re whether Dan Abrams was incarnate during the American Revolution and if so, was he a newspaper publisher?

As is usual, Ahtun Re said, “One moment,” during which he psychically tunes into the subject of interest and waits for information to come to him. He can access a record of events that is engrained in the spirit realm, which some call the Akashic Record.

Ahtun Re returned and related that Dan was a newspaper publisher in Boston during the Revolution and that his periodical was supportive of the Patriot cause of Independence.

After doing some research into Boston newspapers and their founders, it appeared that Isaiah Thomas was the best candidate. In a subsequent session with Kevin, Ahtun Re affirmed that Dan Abrams is the reincarnation of Thomas.

Isaiah Thomas was born in 1749 in Boston, Massachusetts and as a teen he was apprenticed to a printer. As an adult, Thomas worked as a printer in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

He returned to Boston and in 1770 he formed a partnership to create a new newspaper, which was given the saucy name, the Massachusetts Spy. The Spy did indeed support the Patriots to the extent that the British colonial government took Isaiah Thomas to court, though in the end a grand jury failed to make an indictment. Due to this experience, Thomas moved his printing presses outside of Boston to nearby Worcester, Massachusetts, where he settled.

Isaiah Thomas and the Boston Massacre: Reporting Across Two Lifetimes

The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5, 1770, with the trial taking place later that year. As such, Thomas must have covered that trial for his paper, which means that Isaiah Thomas and John Adams knew one another.

Consider that Isaiah Thomas reported on the Boston Massacre trial, then reincarnated as Dan Abrams, who wrote the book John Adams Under Fire, which is about the very same trial!

The Massachusetts Spy also reported on the first battles of the American Revolution that took place in the Massachusetts towns of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. Isaiah himself participated as a soldier in the Battle of Concord.

Following the decision by the Continental Congress to separate from Britain on July 4, 1776, Isaiah Thomas had the honor of performing the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence to the citizens of Worcester.

Authors in Two Lifetimes

Like Dan Abrams, Isaiah Thomas was an author of books and he wrote the History of Printing in America, with a Biography of Printers, and an Account of Newspapers, published in two volumes in 1810.

In 1812, Thomas founded the American Society of Antiquaries, now known as the American Antiquarian Society, and donated his collection of 8000 books to its library. Thomas died in 1831.

Evidence and Principles of Reincarnation-Understanding Past Lives

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases: There is a similarity in the facial features and demeanor of Thomas and Abrams.

Past Life Passions, Talent and Abilities: Isaiah Thomas was a reporter and newspaper publisher for the American Revolution, while Dan Abrams is a reporter on legal matters and founder of a media empire.

Priyanka Chopra as the Reincarnation of French Film Vamp Musidora and Nick Jonas as Costar Fernand Herrmann: Planning Lifetimes to be Reunited through Reincarnation

Clues to a Past Lifetime of Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World 2000 beauty pageant, which led to movie roles and fame, resulting in her becoming one of India’s most popular celebrities. She married Nick Jonas, a member of the Jonas Brothers singing group, which made Priyanka equally famous in the United States.

Since India’s primary religion, Hinduism, does accept reincarnation, it was natural to wonder who Priyanka, as well Nick, may have been in past lives.

I asked about Priyanka and Nick in a session with trance medium Kevin Ryerson, who channels Ahtun Re, a spirit being who has demonstrated the ability to make past life matches with a high degree of accuracy.

Ahtun Re told me that Priyanka was a French silent movie actress and  director at the turn of the century. At the time of this session with Kevin, I was busy with other reincarnation cases and did not take the time to research this French actress, who sounded obscure to me.

Priyanka as the Reincarnation of Musidora

Several months went by when I was contacted by Karthik Ramaswamy, an Indian American who wrote conveying his hypotheses regarding who Priyanka might have been in past lives.

I did not think his theories were valid, but after getting to know him a bit, I shared the information I already had regarding Priyanka as the French silent movie actress and director. I asked Karthik if he would like to research this French past life, which he agreed to do.

Not long thereafter, Karthik sent me information about Musidora, who fit the description given by Ahtun Re. In a subsequent session with Kevin, Priyanka’s past life as Musidora was confirmed.

Musidora’s birth name was Jeanne Roques and she was born in 1889 in Paris.  She started acting when she was 15 years old. In the early years of French cinema, she collaborated with the influential film director Louis Feuillade. This led to Jeanne, who had taken on the stage name, Musidora, to landing a lead role in the movie series Les Vampires.

Ahtun Re and the Akashic Records

By the way, when I asked Ahtun Re if Priyanka was Musidora, I said that Musidora had starred in Les Vampires. I then added: “I guess it’s a movie about vampires.”

After affirming that Priyanka was Musidora in a past lifetime, Ahtun Re said that Les Vampires was actually about a gang of criminals, not a movie about actual vampires. He then said the gang symbolically sucked the blood of society.

I was stunned that Ahtun Re knew this obscure detail and demanded: “How did you know that?”

Ahtun Re has done this repeatedly in my sessions with Kevin, which I have been having on roughly a monthly basis since 2001. Ahtun Re has an encyclopedic scope of knowledge that never ceases to amaze me.

Ahtun Re explained that when I ask about a person, he focuses on the subject and information about this person just comes to him. Ahtun Re has the ability to read what is called the Akashic Records or Universal Mind. It is a record of all events that is etched in the spirit realm. Ahtun Re accesses this record telepathically.

Nick Jonas as the Reincarnation of Fernand Herrmann

In the same session in which Ahtun Re confirmed that Priyanka was Musidora, I asked if Nick Jonas was incarnate during Musidora’s lifetime. Ahtun Re told me that Nick was one of the other actors in Les Vampires.

As before, I asked Karthik if he could try to find Nick. Karthik then watched a number of episodes of Les Vampires. Afterwards, he wrote to me and related that the most likely candidate for Nick Jonas was Fernand Herrmann, a reincarnation match that was subsequently affirmed by Ahtun Re.

Fernand Herrmann was also born in Paris and starred in 26 films between 1914 and 1925, the year he died. Musidora died in 1967. Priyanka Chopra was born 15 years later, in 1982.

Musidora was married to Dr. Clément Marot for 15 years before the union ended in divorce. I do not know if Musidora and Fernand Herrmann had any type of significant personal relationship during their professional careers, but they must at least have been friends.

Planning Lifetimes and Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation

Anne Frank | Barbro Karlen Past Life CasePhysical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases: There are similarities in the facial features of Musidora | Priyanka and Fernand Herrmann | Nick Jonas.

I believe that physical appearance is determined by an energy template projected from the soul into the developing fetus and child, which results in facial architecture being similar from one lifetime to another, though genetic inheritance can modify appearance.

Past Life Passions, Talent and Abilities: Musidora and Fernard were actors, as are Priyanka and Nick.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: As noted before, Musidora and Fernand have rendezvoused in the lives of Nick and Priyanka.

Change of Nationality: Musidora and Fernand were French, while Priyanka was born in India and Nick was born in the United States.

Wild Bill Hickok: Celebrity and Actor

“Wild Bill” Hickok was one of America’s first celebrities. He was raised in Illinois on a farm, but he was attracted to the adventure that the American West offered. At the age of 18, he moved to the frontier territories of Kansas and Nebraska, where he became a lawman. Hickok was involved in a number of shootouts, but exaggerated the number of men he had killed, which served to help create a mythology around him.

George Ward Nichols was the journalist who created the legend of Wild Bill. Nichols had interviewed Hickok, who falsely stated that he had killed “hundreds” of men. Nichols included Hickock’s tall tales in an article published in Harper’s New Monthly Magazine which led to Wild Bill’s fame. Though Hickok had indeed been an excellent marksman since boyhood, his primary biographer has estimated that he only killed 6 or 7 people in gunfights.

Due to his fame, Hickok was invited to participate in shows depicting life on the Western frontier, complete with Indians and staged shootouts. In this capacity, he worked as an actor who also demonstrated his skills with firearms during shows.

In 1876, Wild Bill was playing cards in a saloon in Deadwood, South Dakota when he was shot in the back and killed by another gambler. Hickok was reportedly was holding a pair of aces and a pair of eights, which has become known as “Dead Man’s Hand,” reflecting Hickok’s assassination.

Wild Bill Hickok as a Past Life of Matthew McConaughey

Matthew David McConaughey was born in 1969 in Texas. He went to the University of Texas, Austin, where he earned a degree in Radio-Television-Film. He has gone on to become a celebrity actor and won an Oscar for his role as a rodeo star who contracts AIDS in the movie Dallas Buyers Club.

When living in California, McConaughey became a surfer, a sport that requires razor-sharp reflexes, which are also required to become a successful gunfighter.

Matthew is known for the phrase: “Alright, Alright, Alright.” I am old enough to know that phrase was originally used in the song 30 Days in the Hole, by Humble Pie.

Interstellar Travel, UFO’s and ET’s: Aliens Reincarnate Too!

Matthew has starred in a couple of movies involving space travel, including Contact (1997) and Interstellar (2004). Of interest, I am working on a series of articles on interstellar travel, UFO’s and ET’s. It turns out that ET’s reincarnate too. These articles will be found in the section of our website entitled:

James Naismith in Canada

James Naismith was born on November 6, 1861 on a farm in Ontario, Canada, where he was raised. Orphaned as a child, James lived with his aunt and uncle.

In 1883, at the age of 21, he went to Montreal Canada where he enrolled into McGill University. There, he was a star athlete, winning metals in gymnastics and playing rugby, soccer, lacrosse and Canadian football (center). He was 5 feet 10.5 inches tall and weighed 178 pounds.

Naismith earned a BA in Physical Education and subsequently taught the subject at McGill, soon becoming its first athletic director.

Naismith in Massachusetts and the Creation of Basketball

James then moved to the United States, settling in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he became a physical education teacher at the YMCA International Training School.

In the cold New England winter, his athletes became ill-tempered being confined to limited indoor activities. To quell the unrest, the head of the program ordered Naismith to create a game to occupy the program’s athletes, which would not take up much room, could help athletes keep in shape, was fair for all players and was not too rough, to minimize injury. Naismith was given two weeks to manufacture this game.

To reduce physical contact between the players and thus decrease chance of injury, Naismith envisioned installing a hoop high over the heads of the players. Points were awarded each time a player lobbed a ball into the hoop. He chose to use a soccer ball, which is relatively soft, to also lower the chance of injury. Players could pass or dribble to move the ball around. Naismith summed up the game into 13 rules.

The first game of “Basket Ball” was played in December 1891. Naismith lived to witness his invention become an Olympic game in 1936, as well as the birth of the NCAA Tournament in 1939. He died in November of 1939.

James Naismith Reincarnates into an African American Family

LeBron James was born in Akron, Ohio. His father had a criminal history and was absent from LeBron’s life. His mother, Gloria, struggled to find regular work. To give her son a greater opportunity to succeed in life, she allowed LeBron to live with the family of Frank Walker, a local youth football coach. Walker introduced LeBron to basketball when he was 9 years old.

LeBron James has gone on to become one of the greatest basketball players of all time, with only Michael Jordan as a peer.

Planning Lifetimes: James Naismith likely Chose to Reincarnate into an African-American Family and Body

Past Life Relationships
Burmese Sisters Reincarnate as Twins

There is strong evidence that souls plan lifetimes and chose the family they will reincarnate into. This is clearly shown in the Twin Study published by Ian Stevenson, MD of the University of Virginia. Stevenson, over a period of 40 years, compiled over 1500 objectively validated childhood past life memory cases.

Out of this population, he identified 31 sets of twins (62 people) who in childhood remembered their past lives with enough detail that their previous personalities could be identified, and their memories validated.

In 100 percent of these cases, the twins had significant past life relationships, including being siblings, friends and even spouses. One set of twins were also twins in their past lives. To learn more, please go to:

Twins, Reincarnation and Embryology

For fraternal twins to reincarnate as twins again, the soul of each twin must be able to direct the place and family where conception will occur. For fraternal twins, two separate fertilized eggs (two eggs that have been penetrated by a sperm cell) are inhabited by two different souls. Appearance of the twins will be different as they derived from two different eggs that are inhabited by two different souls. Each soul projects an energy template into the developing fetus, which helps shape physical appearance. For a discussion on reincarnation and physical appearance, please go to:

The Basis of Physical Appearance in Reincarnation Cases

For identical twins, one fertilized egg splits in two as it reproduces and each separate soul takes control of half the fertilized egg. The twins look the same as they arose from one egg. The soul of one of the twins imprints the fertilized egg with an energy template that helps shape appearance for both twins.

For non-twin cases, the process is the same except that there is only one soul involved that assumes control of one entire egg.

Choosing to Reincarnate into the Black Race

Anne Frank | Barbro Karlen Past Life Case90 percent of the National Basketball Association’s athletes are Black and 70 percent of the athletes in National Football Association are Black. Studies have shown that Africans in the areas of Kenya and Ethiopia genetically have larger lung capacity than the lung capacity of Caucasians or other races. This is why so many marathon winners come from these regions of Africa.

Differences in genetic capabilities of races is likely known in the spirit world. If you invented the game of basketball and wanted to reincarnate to become a star of the sport, which race would you reincarnate into?

Understanding that Souls Can Change Race, Religion and Nationality can Help Create a More Peaceful World

Reincarnation and DNA Sequencing

In the year 2000, I was researching a possible past life of my own in which I was incarnate in Boston during the American Revolution. In the process, as I identified past life matches, I noted that facial features, talents and personality traits seemed to remain consistent from one lifetime to another. In addition, I observed that people reincarnate in soul groups to be reunited with those they have loved, known or worked together with in past lives.

During this time, I wondered if  the soul might imprint certain portions of our DNA, which could be used to prove reincarnation through biochemical means. This would not involve traditional DNA fingerprinting techniques, which are based on family genetics.

Rather, the thought is to compare DNA sequencing from one incarnation to another to see if there are sections of DNA that are unique for each soul. The DNA imprinted by the soul, which would remain consistent from one lifetime to another, may be contained in what is called “Junk DNA” that has no known purpose in the human organism.

Kary Mullis and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): A New Era in Science

In August 2000, I learned about a researcher at the Smithsonian Institute who had expertise in DNA testing, whose name is Terry Sharrer, PhD. I contacted him by phone to get information regarding DNA analyses. Keep in mind that in the year 2000, the internet was just getting started and Google did not exist. To get information at that time, one would have to turn to books or human beings.

In the course of our conversation, I related to him my interest in reincarnation and other spiritual topics. Terry then became quite excited and stated that I had to contact a friend of his, Kary Mullis, a biochemist who invented the chemical reaction that is used in DNA fingerprinting, which is called Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Terry then shared that Kary won the Nobel Prize for this invention.

PCR does represent a major breakthrough in biology and medicine, as it ushered in our DNA era. PCR is the basis for the movie series Jurassic Park, in which ancient, preserved dinosaur DNA is found and PCR is used to replicate that DNA to resurrect dinosaurs.

In fact, the invention of PCR is so important that some scientists proclaim that the field of biology and medicine can be divided into two eras, one before PCR and the other after PCR.

Kindred Spirits: A Past Life Relationship? Benjamin Rush?

After I shared my spiritual interests, Terry said: “You two are kindred spirits.”

He then gave me the home phone number and address of Kary Mullis. Terry advised that before I contact him, I should read an autobiographical book that Kary had written, entitled Dancing Naked in the Mind Field.

I was a little bit shocked that I was given the home phone number and address of a Nobel Laureate who invented a world-changing chemical reaction after a 20-minute telephone conversation with Terry.

When I hung up the phone, I pondered whether Kary was part of my soul group from the era of the American Revolution, since the connection with him was made so swiftly and easily. As I pondered what had just happened and wondered who Kary may have been, one name popped into my mind:

Benjamin Rush

Rush was a leading physician, chemist and patriot during the American Revolution. He was friends with both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson and in fact wrote that these two Founding Fathers were the North and South poles of the American Revolution. Rush is the physician who performed surgery on the daughter of John Adams at their home in Braintree, Massachusetts, who had developed breast cancer (she later perished).

Of interest, in my proposed past life, I knew Benjamin Rush.

Kary Mullis believes in Reincarnation and He can See the Dead

When I read Kary’s book, I understood why Terry had told me that Kary and I were kindred spirits. In addition to having careers in science, we both had interests in spirituality and reincarnation. Kary even ends his book with the following quote:

“The appropriate demeanor for a human being is to feel lucky to be alive and to humble himself in the face of the immensity of things and have a beer. Relax. Welcome to Earth. It’s a little confusing at first. That’s why you have to keep coming back over and over again before you learn to really enjoy yourself.”

Further, in Dancing Naked in the Mind Field, Kary shares a clairvoyant experience that he had when his grandfather, whose nickname was “Pop,” died. He relates that his grandfather passed away in North Carolina while Kary was living in Northern California. Kary states that before anyone had notified him of his grandfather’s death, the spirit of his grandfather appeared in his home. Kary shares that Pop’s spirit remained at his home for a period of two days before departing.

Past Life Talent, Personality Traits and Physical Appearance, as well as Similar Writing Style from One Lifetime to Another

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases

In reading about Benjamin Rush and Kary Mullis, I saw many parallels. Both were leading scientists of their day and both had very iconoclastic, rebellious personalities. I also noted that the structure Kary’s autobiography is similar to one that Rush had written entitled.

For example, Rush’s autobiography is entitled, Travels through Time, while Kary’s title is Dancing Naked in the Mind Field. Note that both titles start with action words, “Travels” and “Dancing,” and that the action occurs in an abstract setting, “Time” and “Mind Field.” To learn of additional similarities, please refer to my book Return of the Revolutionaries.

A reincarnation case in which a linguistic analysis was done that showed similar writing styles across two lifetimes is provided below:

Reincarnation Case of John B. Gordon | Jeff Keene

I also noticed that Benjamin Rush and Kary Mullis have consistent facial features.

Kary Mullis supports that He was Benjamin Rush in a Past Lifetime

I mailed a packet to Kary in which I explained that I thought he is the reincarnation of Benjamin Rush and that we had known each other during the time of the American Revolution.

Later, towards the end of 2001, after I was promised a book contract by the publishing company, Hampton Roads, I contacted Kary and asked if I could include him in my upcoming book.

I was very pleasantly surprised when Kary telephoned me and agreed to be featured in Return of Revolutionaries. He even consented to have his wife, Nancy, take pictures of him for image comparisons.

When I was communicating with Nancy Mullis regarding photos of Kary, it occurred to me that she may have been Julia Rush, the wife of Benjamin Rush. There is strong evidence that spouses can reincarnate together to be married again. To learn more, please go to:

Twin Study conducted by Ian Stevenson, MD of the University of Virginia

Past Life Relationship: Nancy Mullis as the Reincarnation of Julia Rush

After I shared that she may be the reincarnation of Julia Rush, Nancy promptly sent me a photograph of her, though I then realized that I had never seen an image of Julia Rush and I didn’t know if one even existed. Fortunately, a portrait of Julia Rush was available and I found that Nancy and Julia bear a strong facial resemblance.

In the end, Kary and Nancy felt that their proposed reincarnation cases were valid and they signed written agreements to be in Return of the Revolutionaries. I was very grateful that this world-famous scientist and Nobel Laureate took a chance with me, though we knew this could hurt his reputation. Compared to Kary, I was a nobody. Though I have advanced degrees in science, at the time I was unpublished and unknown. I also have gratitude to Nancy Mullis, who helped facilitate this turn of events.

Kary Mullis died in 2019. In a final correspondence, Kary did reach out to me in 2017 to reflect on the similarities between Benjamin Rush and himself.

Steve Allen, Steve Higgins and the Phenomenon of Split Incarnation

Steve Allen was a co creator and the first host of The Tonight Show, which initially aired in 1954. This was the first late night talk show in the United States. Allen was a television icon and was honored by two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Allen was also TV producer and a comedy writer. He died in the year 2000, at the age of 78.

Steve Higgins was born in 1963, 37 years BEFORE Steve Allen died. As such, this represents a case of split incarnation, in which a soul inhabits two human bodies at the same time, in this case for a period of 37 years. In other words, the lifetimes of Allen and Higgins have overlapped by 37 years.

Ian Stevenson, MD of the University of Virginia, Reincarnation Research and Split Incarnation

Though split incarnation is a difficult concept to accept, there is evidence that this phenomenon does indeed occur. Ian Stevenson, MD of the University of Virginia compiled over 1500 childhood past life memory cases that were objectively validated. Split incarnation is observed in some of these cases. In fact, split incarnation is demonstrated in one of Dr. Stevenson’s strongest cases. To learn more, please to go:

It is not a coincidence that Allen | Higgins and Gleason | Fallon are working together across two incarnations. There is very compelling evidence that souls plan lifetimes to be reunited with those that they have known and loved in past lives.

The most impressive study was done by Ian Stevenson, MD, who compiled 31 sets of twins who had past life memories that were objectively validated.
