Past life Story of Eeva-Maija Kaartinen | Maria-Liisa Kaartinen: Soul Plan, Reincarnation & Talent, Split Incarnation or Parallel Lives

A girl Eeva-Maija Kaartinen who died at an early age when her mother is pregnant with another baby reincarnated in the baby that her mother was carrying when she died, and was named Marja-Liisa. A reincarnation story with references clearly indicating a renewed sustained lifetime of a former life that was curtailed at a very young age.

After Her Mother Promises Her a Toy Carriage, A Young Flapper Dies at the age of Five

Eeva-Maija Kaartinen was born on August 17, 1923 in Oulu, Finland. Eva had three older brothers, who she differed from in several ways. Her brothers and her parents liked to eat meat and drink sour milk. In contrast, Eeva-Maija refused to eat meat or drink sour milk. Rather, she preferred fish and fresh milk.

IISISReincarnationResearchCharlestonR

Eeva-Maija was reluctant to eat in general and times she would hide her food so that she didn’t have to eat it. Salli Kaartinen, her mother, would coach her to take nourishment by saying, “Eat, bite and swallow.” (1)

Eeva-Maija loved to dance and almost danced before she could walk. She learned to do the Charleston, a dance that was popular in the 1920’s.

Just after she was 5 years old, Eeva-Maija came down with a fatal case of influenza. Just before Eeva-Marja died, Salli, her mother, promised to buy her a toy baby carriage. Eeva-Maija passed on November 24, 1928.

Marja-Liisa Says She is the Reincarnation of Eeva-Maija, Won’t Eat,& Repeats Past Life Phrase, “Eat, Bite and Swallow”

Salli was 3 months pregnant when Eeva-Maija died. Six months later, on Mary 22, 1929, Marja-Liisa Kaartinen was born.

When Marja-Liisa learned to speak, she repeatedly asked to be called Eeva-Maija. At the age of 2, when she found photographs of Eeva-Maija, she would take the photos to people and say: “These are of me.” (2)

Marja-Liisa also was resistant to eating and at the age of 2, she said to her mother, Salli: “Why don’t you tell me what you said to Eeva-Jaija: “Eat, bite and swallow.” (3)

No one had told Marja-Lissa about Salli’s coaching of Eeva-Jaija and as such, it was an apparent memory from a past lifetime. Salli testified that family members had purposely decided not to talk about Eeva-Maija, after her death, in an effort to ease their grief.

Past Life Memories: Marja-Liisa Remembers Helim and Picks Out Past Life Toys

IISISReincarnationResearchToyBoxWhen Marja-Liisa was 3 years old, the family went to their summer cabin in Sotkomo, Finland. When they arrived there, Marja-Liisa said: “Where is Helim?” (4)

Helim was the family’s servant who had left their employment over a year before Marja-Liisa was born. Again, no one had told her about Helim and as such, her mother perceived this to be a memory from Marja-Liisa’s past lifetime as Eeva-Maija.

At their Sotkomo summer cabin, there was a trunk that stored the children’s toys. Upon their arrival at Sotkoma, Marja-Liisa spontaneously went to this trunk and then proceeded to pick out all of Eeva-Maija’s toys, leaving the toys of the other children in the trunk.

She picked out Eeva-Maija’s balls and left the balls that belonged to her brothers alone. One of her brothers had a doll in the trunk. She picked out the doll that belonged to Eeva-Maija and left the doll that belonged to her brother in the trunk.

Past Life Memories of Peter Pan, a Coat and the Promise of a Toy Carriage

IISISReincarnationResearchBabyCarriageAt the age of 4, Marja-Liisa asked her mother: “Where were we when Peter Pan flew” (5)

Salli and Eeva-Maija had seen the movie, Peter Pan, but Marja-Liisa had not.

Salli, while in the family’s kitchen, asked a servant to get a coat that had belonged to Eeva-Marija from the attic. Marja-Liisa was in her bedroom at the time and she did not hear this conversation. When the servant came downstairs from the attic, Marja-Liisa ran to him and grabbed the coat, saying: “My coat, my coat.” (6)

At about the age of five, Marja-Liisa asked Salli for the baby carriage that she had promised to her. This promise, of course, was made to Eeva-Maija, not Marja-Liisa.

Past Life Traits: Eeva-Marija and Marja-Liisa Don’t Eat Meat

IISISReincarnationResearchCharlestonMarja-Liisa resisted eating and she would hide food, like Eeva-Marija. She also refused to eat meat or sour milk. Instead, she preferred fish and fresh milk, like Eeva-Marija. All the other family members ate meat and sour milk; Eeva-Marija and Marja-Liisa were the only exceptions.

Marja-Liisa preferred to wear Eeva-Marija’s clothes and to play with her toys, rather than wear new clothes or play with toys that were bought for her.

Reincarnation & Past Life Talent: Spontaneous Charleston

Marja-Liisa loved music and began dancing almost before she could walk, as did Eeva-Marija. Even more impressive, Marija-Liisa, before the age of 3, spontaneously knew how to dance the Charleston.

Eeva-Marija was taught to do the Charleston, while Marija-Lissa was not. As such, Marija-Lissa was bringing a learned talent from her prior incarnation as Eeva-Marija into contemporary times.

Past Life Death Memories

IISISReincarnationResearchBuriedAliveWhen Marja-Liisa was about 5 years of age, the same age at which Eeva-Marija had died, Marja-Liisa experienced a series of nightmares of being buried or of seeing dead bodies. These experiences may have been due to the anniversary of Eeva-Marija’s death.

Anniversary phenomenon have been observed in reincarnation cases, such as in the case of John B. Gordon | Jeff Keene, who experienced jaw pain on his thirtieth birthday, the same age that John B. Gordon was shot in the jaw during the American Civil War.

Reincarnation & Physical Appearance

According to Salli, the girls’ mother, Marja-Liisa and Eeva-Marija looked the same. Salli stated that the two girls: “resembled each other considerably in physical appearance.” (7) The only difference was that Eeva-Maija was blonde while Maria-Liisa was a brunette.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Soul Plan & Same Family Reincarnation: Eeva-Marija reincarnated into the same family that she belonged to before, as Marja-Liisa. This is supported by Marja-Liisa’s insistence of being called Eeva-Marija, even though the family purposely decided not to talk about Eeva-Marija to ease their grief.

In addition, Marja-Liisa recognized the clothes and toys of Eeva-Marija and claimed them as hers. She insisted that photos of Eeva-Marija were really images of herself. She demonstrated the same personality trait of being resistant to being fed. She also remembered the past life phrase that Salli used to entice Eeva-Maija into eating, which was: “Eat, bite and swallow.” (8)

Marja-Liisa also remembered the servant, Helim, who was employed by the family when Eeva-Marija was alive, but who had left a year before Marja-Liisa was born.

Reincarnation & Talent from a Past Lifetime: Marja-Lissa spontaneously knew how to dance the Charleston, though she was never taught to do this dance. Eeva-Marija was taught the Charleston, which she enjoyed dancing.

Reincarnation & Physical Resemblance: Salli, the girls’ mother, noted that Eeva-Marija and Marja-Lissa had the same physical appearance, except for hair color. Of course, since this is a same family reincarnation case, similar physical resemblance could be attributed to genetic factors.

Split Incarnation or Parallel Lives: Marja-Lissa was born 6 months after Eeva-Marija died. As such, if it is assumed that the soul is involved in the development of the fetus, then the soul of these two girls inhabited the physical bodies of Eeva-Marija and Marja-Lissa at the same time for a period of 6 months.

Soul Planning from Spirit Realm with Gender Change in a Reincarnation Case: Past Life Story of L. Ennuyer | N. Jegou

A mother’s questions on her son’s accident were finally answered when her son reincarnated as her granddaughter. Lionel Ennuyer reincarnated as Nadege and tells how he died a in a motorcycle accident.

Lionel Ennuyer Dies a in a Motorcycle Accident

IISISReincarnationResearchMotorCycleCrashLionel Ennuyer was born on August 22, 1953 in a suburb of Paris, France. Lionel’s mother was Yvonne Ennuyer and his sister was named Vivian. Lionel was a fun-loving boy who was very friendly, social and generous. He was so generous that he had few possessions, as he gave his things to others. He loved sports and participated in skating, skiing, tennis, swimming, shooting and cycling. His nick name was Yoyo.

As a young man, Lionel bought a motorcycle. On December, 23 1973, when he was 20 years of age, he went for motorcycle ride with friends following him in a car. He lost control of his bike and crashed into a roadside bench, striking his head and dying on the scene.

His mother, Yvonne, suspected that Lionel’s friends in the automobile had something to do with the crash, perhaps following Lionel too closely and causing the accident. None of his friends in the car, though, would admit to this.

Reincarnation, Soul Planning and Gender Change: Lionel Reincarnates as His Sister’s Daughter & Remembers the Motorcycle Crash

IISISYoungParisienneonscooterNadege was born on December 30, 1974, almost exactly one year after Lionel had died. Nadege’s parents were Patrick and Vivian Jegou; Vivian was Lionel’s sister. Nadege was given the nickname Nana by her parents.

As child, Nadege spontaneously started to speak of Lionel’s motorcycle accident as if it happened to her. She said that her friend, who was driving the automobile behind her, struck the rear of her motorcycle, which made her lose control and crash into a bench. Nadege would recount the events of the crash repetitively and she seemed to be reliving the event.

When Nadege was 3 years old, Yvonne, her grandmother and the mother of Lionel and Vivian, showed Nadege a picture of Lionel. Yvonne said that the picture was of Yoyo, which was Lionel’s pet name. Nadege disagreed and insisted that it was a picture of her. Nadege used her own pet name, Nana, stating:

“No, it is Nana.” (1)

When she was shown a picture of Lionel on another occasion, Nadege similarly insisted that it was really a picture of her.

Nadege Remembers Past Life Carambars, Licorice Rolls and Colors of Lionel’s Shirt

When Nadege was 4 years old, she had another spontaneous memory of her life as Lionel. Unexpectedly, Nadege said to Yvonne, her grandmother:

“When I was Lionel I used to buy carambars.” (2)

IISISReincarnationEvidenceLiquoriceWheelsNadege then realized that she didn’t know what carambars were. She then asked Yvonne,

“What are carambars?” (3)

Yvonne explained that the word referred to a caramel candy. Lionel was very fond of carembars, but Yvonne had never bought any for Nadege. After that explanation, Nadege said:

“I also used to buy some black things with white candy inside for my mama.” (4)

Yvonne confirmed that this statement was true. Yvonne loved licorice rolls, which were black tubes with white candy inside. Lionel did indeed by these licorice rolls for her.

When Nadege was 5 years old, Yvonne showed her a black and white photo of Lionel as an infant. Nadege looked at the picture and said:

“You know, when I was Yoyo, I wore this white blouse with blue embroidery.” (5)

Since it was a black and white photo, the color of the embroidery was not evident, yet Nadege was correct about the color of the embroidery being blue. This piece of clothing had long disappeared and Yvonne was sure that she never discussed the shirt or its colors with Nadege.

A Tortoise Face and Other Behaviors from a Past Lifetime

There were other events in Lionel’s life that Nadege remembered, which she insisted happened to her, not Lionel. She also demonstrated behaviors that were typical of Lionel.

IISISReincarnationResearchTortoiseLionel liked to make a certain funny face, in which he would push his lower lip far forward. He called this is “tortoise face.” When she was two years old, Nadege made this exact same face, though no one had told her about Lionel’s tortoise face, nor had Nadege ever seen a photo of the Lionel making the face. Lionel and Nadege made the face often.

When Lionel signed letters, he always drew a pipe with smoke curling out of it. When Yvonne once showed Nadege a sample of this pipe drawing, she adopted the habit herself, drawing the pipe in the same way next to her signature.

Like Lionel, Nadege was a very generous person and she gave her things away to others, just as Lionel had done. She also loved sports, like Lionel, especially skating, swimming and diving. At the age of 3 ½, Nadege fearlessly would dive into a pool from a height of 10 feet or 3 meters, as if she had done so before.

Reincarnation & Physical Resemblance or Similar Appearance

Yvonne, Lionel’s mother and Nadege’s grandmother, thought that there was a similarity in appearance between Lionel and Nadege, in that they both had the same asymmetry of the eyes. Unfortunately, photographs are not available to us for review.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

The strength of this case rests upon the uncanny memories that Nadege had of events in Lionel’s life, starting with her spontaneous memory of the motorcycle accident that ended his life. She also spontaneously remembered the carambar candy that Lionel loved and the color of the embroidery of Lionel’s shirt, which he wore when he was young. If this reincarnation case is accepted, it has the following features:

Soul Planning: Same Family Reincarnation: Nadege was born to Lionel’s sister, Vivian. As such, it appears that Lionel planned his reincarnation to be reunited with his family, including his past life mother, Yvonne, who became his contemporary grandmother.

Reincarnation & Change of Gender: Lionel reincarnated as a Nadege, a female. Despite the change in gender, Lionel and Nadege demonstrated common behaviors, such as generosity and a love of sports.

Physical Resemblance: Yvonne, the mother of Lionel and the grandmother of Nadege, perceived a similarity of appearance between Lionel and Nadege regarding the asymmetry of their eyes. Of course, since this is a same family reincarnation case, the similarity in appearance may have been due to genetic factors.

Soul Plan, Spirit Being & Gender Change in Same Family Reincarnation: Past Life Story of Jaako Vuorenlehto | Taru Jarvi

A reincarnation research case that gives proof that a soul can plan future life from the spirit world. The reincarnation of Jaako Vuorenlehto a male as a female Taru Jarvi and she has perfect recall of past life.

Soul Plan: As Children, Jaako & Iris Know They Will Be Married in the Future

IISISReincarnationResearchChildWeddingJaako Vuorenlehto was born on November 15, 1929 in Helsinki, Finland, to a Lutheran Christian family. His nick name was Jaska. As a child, Jaako seemed to have a destined relationship with a girl named Iris Sundstrum, who was born in 1935. As such, Iris was 6 years younger than Jaako. When they were children, the two only saw each other from a distance. They did not develop a romance until 1970, when Jaako was 40 years old.

Still, when Jaako was 18 years of age, Jaako told a friend, referring to Iris: “One day I will marry that girl.” (1)

At the same time, Iris, at 12 years of age, said to a friend, referring to the house that Jaako lived in: “One day I will live in that house.” (2)

As Jaako and Iris both had premonitions that they would be married in the future, these feelings indicate that they knew of a life destiny or plan. Several other reincarnation cases demonstrate that we do indeed plan future lifetimes from the spirit world.

Iris, though, initially married another man, with whom she had 3 children. Later in life, Jaako and Iris met, developed a friendship and fell in love. Iris subsequently divorced her first husband and in 1970, when Jaako was 40 and Iris was 34, they married. They enjoyed a very happy relationship.

Reincarnation, Gender Change & Jaako’s Feminine Side

Jaako had an unusual personality in that he enjoyed hobbies typically enjoyed by women. Though he liked male activities such as playing ice hockey, hunting and driving cars, he also enjoyed playing with dolls. Jaako liked to crochet, sew tablecloths and he was attracted to women’s clothing, which he would purchase for Iris.

Though Jaako was tall and thin, Iris noted that he tended to move in a feminine way. Despite these mannerisms and though he believed in reincarnation, Jaako never expressed a desire to be a woman.

Ian Stevenson noted that in 90 percent of his validated children’s reincarnation cases, gender stays the same from one lifetime to another, which infers that a particular soul has a preferred gender. As we see, Jaako will reincarnate as a woman and it may be that his feminine traits reflect his soul’s preference for female incarnations. It may also be that Jaako is soul who prefers to incarnate as male and female in an alternating fashion, thus experiencing the qualities of both sexes.

Jaako’s is Run Over by a Bus and is Killed

IISIS ReincarnationEvidenceYellowBusFrontViewOn September 13, 1973, when Jaako was 43 years old and only 3 years after marrying Iris, he was accidentally run over by a bus, just after he had exited the vehicle. A rear tire of the bus ran over his chest, neck and then his head. A physician examined Jaako just after the accident and declared him dead at the scene.

Soul Plan: From the Spirit Realm, Jaako as a Spirit Being Predicts his Reincarnation & Telepathically Informs Iris He will be Reborn as her Daughter

Just over a year after Jaako’s death, Iris became remarried to a man named Heikki Jarvi, her third husband. A year later, in September 1975, Iris visited Jaako’s grave and received a telepathic message from him.

Iris heard Jaako’s voice, who told her that he would be reborn to her as a daughter on May 27. Iris was 40 years old at the time. She was not pregnant at the time and she did not expect to get pregnant.

Nonetheless, Iris did become pregnant and gave birth to a girl on May 27, 1976, just as Jaako had predicted. The baby girl was named Taru, who was born less than 3 years after Jaako’s death.

Past Life Memory: Taru Tells her Parents her Name is Jaska

When Taru was only 1 year old, she told her parents that she had been run over by a bus. When she was 1 and a half years old, she told her parents: “I am not Taru; my name is Jaska.” (3) Recall that Jaska was Jaako’s nickname.

This incident is reminiscent of the Francesco Foscari | Wayne Peterson reincarnation case, as Wayne as a child also rejected his given name and insisted on being called “Francesco Foscari.”

When Taru was 3 and a half years old, she told her mother, Iris: “You are not my mother. I was left under a car and died. Don’t you know?” (4)

This is reminiscent of the reincarnation case of Anne Frank | Barbro Karlen, as Barbro also told her parents that they were not her real parents, and that her real parents would come get her and take her to her real home.

Reincarnation, Gender Change & Past Life Memories: Taru Recalls being a Man Killed by a Bus

Taru was then asked additional questions, such as whether she was a boy or girl when she died and what kind of vehicle killed her.

Taru replied: “Of course a boy, a big boy.” Regarding the vehicle, she said, “It was big. First died the stomach, then the head.” “I was taken to the hospital, but I was already dead by that time.” (5)

Tara repeatedly would say: “I was a big man.” (6) When she found a large toy car that had belonged to Jaako, she said that it was hers. She claimed that she had played with this toy car many times in the past.

Taru liked to keep a photo of Jaako by her bed, though she did not state specifically that it was a picture of her. Taru did say, though: “You do not have to be afraid of dying because I have died many times.” (7) She stated that in prior incarnation in Germany, she had a mother named Senya.

Reincarnation & Gender Change: Taru Asks for a Gun, Hockey Stick & Insists She is a Boy

As a child, Taru demonstrated a preference for play that is typical for boys. She played with toy soldiers and while doing so, she would wear a helmet and carry a toy gun. She asked her parents to buy her a real gun and a hockey stick, and she would pretend to drive a car. Recall that Jaako enjoyed hunting, playing hockey and driving cars.

Taru had a strong preference for boy’s clothing, in contrast to her step-sisters, who only liked feminine clothes. In playing with other children, she would never take the role of a girl, rather, she would insist, “I am a boy.” (8)

As an adult, Taru continued to demonstrate masculine dress by always wearing pants and never wearing make up.

Reincarnation & Gender Identity Issues in Two Lifetimes

Taru’s identification with the male gender appears to reflect her prior incarnation as Jaako, who conversely demonstrated feminine traits. This case shows how reincarnation can explain gender identity problems.

Taru’s Jealous Attitude towards her Father

Taru had a marked resentment against Heikki, her father, much like an ex-husband would resent a former wife’s new husband. Once she told Iris, referring to Heikki:

“He can go away and we can live together without him.” (9)

Taru told Heikki directly: “We do not need you. You should go away.” “You are only a visitor here.” (10)

In other words, it appears that Jaako, in the form of Taru, wanted to get rid of Heikki so that Iris could be reclaimed as a wife. Taru’s negative attitude towards Heikki and her possessive manner towards Iris eventually caused Heikki and Iris to live separately for periods of time.

A Past Life Phobia of Buses and of the Date that Jaako Died

IISISReincarnationResearchBusSnowWhen Taru was a year old, she developed a severe fear of buses, tractors and large autos. She would ask Iris to pick her up when a bus approached. In contrast, she was not afraid of small cars. This phobia of buses and large vehicles persisted until she was 19 years old.
Taru also had a superstitious fear of the thirteenth day of the month, which was the day that Jaako was run over by a bus.

Reincarnation & Physical Resemblance

Iris and Jaako’s mother (Taru’s grandmother) both noted a close resemblance in facial features and pigmentation between Jaako and Taru. In addition, Taru grew up to be tall and clumsy, just as Jaako had been. Taru grew to be taller than Heikki, her father.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

This very compelling reincarnation case, if accepted, demonstrates the following features:

Physical Resemblance: Iris and Jaako’s mother both noted a prominent facial resemblance between Jaako and Taru, who also had the common features of being tall and clumsy. Since Jaako reincarnated as the daughter of his surviving wife, Iris, and her new husband, Heikki Jarvi, there is no genetic link between Jaako and Taru. This is a same family reincarnation case based on marriage, not a common genetic line.

As such, this is an impressive case which demonstrates physical resemblance from one incarnation to another.

Soul Plan & Spirit Being Involvement in Reincarnation Case: After Jaako’s death, Iris received a telepathic message from him, while she was visiting his grave. Iris heard Jaako’s voice, who told her that he would be reborn to her as a daughter on May 27. Jaako’s prediction came true with Taru’s birth. As such, Jaako was clearly planning his next incarnation while in the spirit world.

In another indication of how lifetimes are planned before we are born, Jaako and Iris both had premonitions, as teenagers, that they would be married in the future. Jaako, at age 18, made the statement that he would marry Iris. Jaako and Iris did marry 22 years later, when Jaako was 40 years old. Prior to their marriage, Iris had married another man, with whom she had 3 children.

The delay in their premonitions coming true suggests that their marriage was not a self-fulfilling prophecy, rather, it appears that they were both aware of a destined relationship. As such, they likely had known each other before, in prior lifetimes.

Reincarnation cases such as this show that we do indeed make plans for our upcoming lifetimes from the spirit world. These plans become our destiny and love a first sight, or premonitions of marriage, are manifestations of our future life plans coming to fruition.

Please note that all same family reincarnation cases involve planning by the soul.

Same Family Reincarnation Case: Jaako reincarnated as his wife’s daughter, Taru. In other words, a spouse in one lifetime became a daughter in another.

Gender Change: Jaako, a male, reincarnated as a Taru, a female. Of interest, in the two lifetimes, traits typical of both genders were demonstrated. Jaako demonstrated feminine hobbies, such as playing with dolls, sewing and a fondness for women’s clothes. On the other hand, Taru behaved like a boy in playing with soldiers, helmets and guns. While Jaako liked women’s clothes, Taru dressed like a man.

Gender confusion based on past life experiences may be the basis of gender disorders, such as transsexualism.

Soul Plan, Spirit Being, Past Life Behavior & Same Family Reincarnation in the Past Life Story of Pertti Haikio | Samuel Helander

The Multiple Injuries & Accidents of Pertti Haikio

IISIS reincarnation evidence belgian shepherdPertti Haikio was born on June 3, 1957, in Helsinki Finland. His father had a confusingly similar first name, Pentii, and his mother’s name was Anneli. He had a sister named Marja. He had a number of injuries in childhood which, we shall see, led to memories or phobias in his next incarnation. They are as follows:

Age 3: Pertti slipped out of Anneli’s arms into a bathtub full of water. Pertti almost drowned.

Age 4: While standing next to a construction site, Pertti was struck by a heavy object from the construction site which injured both legs. He was hospitalized for 5 months and had to wear casts on both legs for several months.

Age 5: A dog severely bit Pertti.

IISISReincarnationResearchFallingThroughIceAge 15: Pertti fell off a wharf in Helsinki and landed on ice, which broke. He almost drowned in the icy water, but was able to take off his shoes and clothes and pull himself out. He went home in his underwear. After this incident, Pertti had a fear of being immersed in water.

Perrti is Affectionate & Plays the Guitar

Despite these traumas, Pertti grew up to be a normal and very affectionate person. He acquired a guitar, which he loved to play, and he displayed musical talent.

In 1969, his mother, Anneli, and his father, Pennti, divorced. Anneli later remarried to a man named Reiner.

A Spirit Being & Spiritual Communication of Perrti’s Sudden Death

At the age of 18, in 1975, Pertti unexpectedly died. On the day of his death, his mother, Anneli, who was on a cruise at the time, had a premonition that someone in the family had passed away. Anneli was lying down in her cabin bunk when she suddenly saw her deceased father, who stood silently, then nodded. Anneli told her husband that this meant that someone in the family had passed into the spirit world. It was Pertti who had left the physical world for the spirit world.

A Spirit Being & Soul Plan: Marja has an Announcing Dream and an Abortion is Prevented

Marja, Pertii’s, sister was married to a man with the same first name as their father, Pentti. Her husband’s full name was Pentii Helander. The couple belonged to the Lutheran church.

One or two months after Pertti had died, he appeared in a dream to his sister, Marja. Marja had become pregnant and she was thinking about having an abortion. That is when Pentii appeared to her in a dream and said:

“Keep that child.” (1)

As a result of this dream, Marja allowed the pregnancy to continue. She had a boy, who they named Samuel Helander.

Past Life Memory: Samuel Recognizes Himself as Pertti with Leg Casts

IISIS Reincarnation Evidence Stretch CastSamuel began to speak around the age of one. When he was 1 and a half, someone asked him what his name was. Samuel replied:

“Peltti.” (2) Marja noted that Samuel could not pronounce “r’s,” so she thought he was trying to say “Pertti.”

Samuel told Marja that she was not his mother. Rather, he used “mother” to refer to Anneli, his grandmother and mother of Pertti.

At the age of 2, Samuel saw a photo of Pertii when he was hospitalized for his leg injuries. Samuel said: “This is me when my legs were ill.” (3) Later, Samuel said that both his legs were in plaster, which did occur in the life of Pertii.

Continuing this pattern, up to the age of 10, whenever Samuel would be shown photos of Pertii, he would say: “That’s me.” (4)

Samuel Remembers a Past Life Dog Bite

Another time when looking through photos, Samuel said: “I remember when the dog bit my leg.” (5) He brought up this subject several times, noting how painful it was when he was bitten, even though Samuel, in his contemporary lifetime, was never bitten by a dog. It was Pertti who was severely bitten by a dog when he was about 5 years old.

Samuel Visits his Past Life Grave & Says that it is His

When Anneli took Samuel to the cemetery where Pertti was buried, when gazing at Pertti’s grave, Samuel repeatedly said, “That is my grave.” (6) When Marja was taking him to the same cemetery, Samuel reiterated, “Now we are going to my grave.” (7)

Key Past Life Memory: Samuel Remembers a Party from a Past Incarnation

IISIS Evidence Reincarnation Colorful Party HatIn the memories that are described above, a skeptic would propose that in seeing photos of Pertti, Samuel, for some reason, simply identified with Pertti. The following memory represents a very important one, as it is extremely unlikely that Samuel could have known about the following incident through normal means.

When he was about 3 years old, Samuel told his parents about a time when he and his father went to a house near a kiosk. He said that they wore different colored hats and that they had brought a guitar. Samuel said that this house near the kiosk caught on fire and they had to go home.

This did not correspond with any events in the life of Samuel, but Marja remembered that Samuel’s description matched an event in Pertti’s life. In 1975, about a year before Pertti had died, a friend had put on a party at a house near a railroad kiosk. Samuel and his father went to the party, but a fire broke out in the attic of this house and the party goers had to disperse.

No one had told Samuel, whose age at this time was only 3, of this obscure incident in Pertti Haikio’s life. Of all of Samuel’s statements, this is the most convincing as being a past life memory, a memory from his lifetime as Pertti Haikio.

Samuel Identifies his Past Life Father

One day, Samuel saw a photo of Pennti and Anneli Haikio, the parents of Pertti Haikio. Recall that Anneli was also Marja’s mother and thus Samuel’s grandmother. Photos of Pennti and Anneli were rarely shown in the household, as Anneli’s second husband, Reiner, was a jealous type and he didn’t like pictures of Pennti, his wife’s first husband, on display.

When looking at a picture of Pennti Haikio, Samuel said, “This is my father.” (8) Pennti, of course, was the father of Pertii, not Samuel.

On another occasion, when looking at a photo of Pennti Haikio and Anneli, Samuel said, “There is Daddy and Grandma too.” (9) Again, Pennti Haikio was Perrtii’s daddy, not Samuel’s. Anneli was Pertii’s mother and Samuel’s grandmother.

Samuel Finds his Past Life Guitar, Corduroy Jacket and Watch

IISIS Reincarnation Research Bus GuitarRecall that Perrti Haikio was fond of playing the guitar. After he died, his guitar was placed in a box and put in a closet. No one in the family had told Samuel about this guitar. None the less, Ian Stevenson writes, regarding Samuel and the guitar:

“He looked for it, found it, and said that it was his.” (10)

After Pertti Haikio had died, all his clothes were disposed of except for a corduroy jacket, which was kept in a closet. One day, Marja, his mother, and Anneli, his grandmother and Perrti’s mother, brought it out and were discussing what to do with it. One of them suggested that it should be given away.

Samuel, who was only 3 years at this time, became agitated and shouted at his mother and grandmother, stating that the corduroy jacket was his and that it should not be given away.

Pertti had a watch that was broken and that was without hands. After he died Anneli put it in a drawer filled with other discarded items. Anneli once opened this drawer in Pertti’s presence. He saw the broken watch and claimed it, saying it was his. Samuel subsequently kept the watch either under his pillow or in a drawer under his bed, apparently so that no one could ever take if from him again.

Samuel’s Past Life Phobia of Water

IISISReincarnationResearchFrozenPondSamuel had a great fear of being bathed, to that point that is mother, Marja, described him as being “panic stricken” when being bathed. Samuel even feared showers. Samuel’s fear of water persisted until he was at least until he was 23 years of age. Even as an adult, Samuel would not go swimming due to his phobia.

Recall that when Pertti was 3 years old, he slipped out of Anneli’s arms into a bathtub full of water and almost drowned. At age 15, Pertti fell off a wharf in Helsinki and landed on ice, which broke. He also almost drowned in the icy water.

Samuel’s fear of water appears to be related to Pertti’s experiences of almost drowning, once when he fell into a bathtub when he was 3 years old and again at the age of 15, when he fell into icy water.

Past Life Behavior: Samuel Replicates Pertti’s Ritual of Kissing Each Family Member at Christmas

Pertti was a very affectionate person and he created a tradition at Christmas where he would go around the room, hold each family member arm and kiss them on the cheek.

At the age of 2 1/2, Samuel spontaneously demonstrated the same behavior at Christmas, taking each family member by the arm and kissing them on the cheek.

Reincarnation & Physical Resemblance: Pertti and Samuel have the Same Appearance & Postures

Marja, Pertti’s sister and Samuel’s mother, noted that Pertti and Samuel had the same smile and that they had the same physique. Pertti had the tendency of standing with one foot in front of the other with his hand on his hip. Samuel had the same habitual posture. Both Pertti and Samuel had a habit of walking with their hands behind their backs. Marja did not have these physical habits.

Marja Believes Samuel is the Reincarnation of Pertti

Based on her experiences and observations, Marja came to believe that her son Samuel is her deceased brother, Pertti reborn.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Same Family Reincarnation: Pertti reincarnated as the son of his sister, Marja, to rejoin his family. All same family reincarnation cases involve planning by the soul from the spirit world of a coming incarnation.

Spirit Being & Soul Plan: Pertii, from the spirit world, provided Marja with an announcing dream, advising her not to have an abortion. Pertti did so as he was planning to reincarnate as Marja’s child, who would be named Samuel.

Another example of a spirit being in this case involves Anneli, Pertti’s mother, who was on a cruise when she suddenly saw her deceased father, who stood silently, then nodded. Anneli told her husband that this meant that someone in the family had passed into the spirit world. It was Pertti who had left the physical world for the spirit world.

Phobia from a Past Lifetime: Samuel had a phobia of bathing and swimming, which appear to have resulted in Pertii having near drowned in a bathtub when he was three and when he fell into icy water when he was 15 years old.

Physical Resemblance: Marja, Pertti’s sister and Samuel’s mother, noted that Pertti and Samuel had the same smile, the same physique and the tendency of standing with one foot in front of the other with his hand on his hip, as well as walking with their hands behind their backs. Since this is a same family reincarnation case, physical resemblances may be due to genetic factors.

Blanche Bautista Reincarnation Story: A Lullaby from a Past Lifetime

A same family reincarnation research case of Dr. Ian Stevenson tinged with a touch of Xenoglossy. A little girl named Blanche reincarnated as her younger sister who is also named Blanche and at age 5 the second Blanche started singing a French lullaby which a former French servant had sung to the first Blanche.

Same Family Reincarnation and a Case of Xenoglossy-Language from a Past Life

This case demonstrates that people can reincarnate within the same family. It also represents a case of xenoglossy, for as a child, Blanche Bautista recited a song in French, a language she did not learn by normal means. In addition, a physical resemblance was noted from one incarnation to another.

Blanche of Italy

IISISReincarnationResearchStPetersFlornida Bautista was a captain in the Italian army. He and his wife lived in Rome, pictured to the right, where they had a child named Blanche. They had a domestic servant from Switzerland named Mary, who only spoke French.

Mary sang a French lullaby to Blanche to put her to sleep. Blanche eventually learned to sing this French lullaby. Unfortunately, Blanche died in 1902 when she was only 2 years old. After Blanche died, Mary left the family and went back home to Switzerland

Blanche Communicates from the Spirit Realm

Three years later, Signora Bautista, Flornida’s wife, was pregnant again. When she was three months pregnant, Signora Bautista had a vision in which she received a message that Blanche was returning to the family.

Captain Flornida Bautista explained that in August 1905, he and his wife were lying in bed, fully awake. He then said that his wife reported seeing a figure who appeared to be their little daughter, Blanche.

In the vision, the little girl joyfully said, “Mama, I am coming back.” The figure then disappeared. (1)

Blanche Reincarnates & Sings a Past Life French Lullaby

IISISReincarnationResearchSingA baby girl was born in February 1906, who was also named Blanche. The parents noted that the second Blanche looked very similar to the first, with dark, round eyes and curly black hair.

At the age of five, the second Blanche started singing the French lullaby that was previously taught to the first Blanche by the family’s former servant, Mary. This French lullaby had not been sung or heard in their home for nine years. No one around the second Blanche knew or spoke French.

When her parents asked who taught her the French lullaby, the second Blanche stated, “No one, I just know it by myself.” She then continued singing the lullaby. (2)

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Recitative Xenoglossy: This case demonstrates what Ian Stevenson, MD termed recitative xenoglossy, where an individual can speak or recite a language that has not been learned by normal means.

Responsive xenoglossy, in contrast, involves an individual who not only can recite a unlearned language, but also respond and converse in the unlearned language.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: This case shows that people can reincarnate within the same family, presumably bound by emotional and karmic ties.

Physical Resemblancee: Flornida and Signora Bautista noticed a clear resemblance between Blanche 1 and 2. This could, of course, be attributed to genetic factors. Images of the two girls, unfortunately, are unavailable.

Spirit Being Involvement: This case provides evidence of spirit beings, as it appears that the spirit of the first Blanche came to Signora Bautista and communicated that she would be born to her parents again.

Please note that image provided above is not an actual photo of Blanche Bautista, but a dramatization.

Past Life Story with Physical Resemblance, Phobia & Geographic Memory: Reincarnation Case of Margaret Kempthorne | Gladys Deacon

A personal account of her experience and the details of a personal interview by Dr. Ian Stevenson were the bases for this child reincarnation story case. Gladys Deacon the person who experienced the child reincarnation detailed her memories of her past life and corroborated it with evidences she has collected. in a story she wrote herself.

How Derived: Geographic Past Life Memory

Researcher: Ian Stevenson, MD

From: European Cases of the Reincarnation Type, by Ian Stevenson, MD

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD

The subject of this case, Gladys Deacon, wrote an account of her story that was published in a London newspaper, the Sunday Express, on June 2, 1935. In addition, Ian Stevenson, MD, interviewed her in 1963. As such, we have two sources of information regarding this very interesting case.

Past Life Phobia: Gladys Loves the Name Margaret & has a Phobia of Falling Down

Gladys Deacon was born on January 25, 1900 in Leicestershire, England. Her father was a carpenter and her parents were Roman Catholic. Gladys had a sister and a brother. She had a fondness for the name Margaret and later learned that her parents had considered naming her Margaret. As a young girl, she had a phobia of falling down

Geographic Past Life Memory: Gladys Recalls a Past Life Fall on a Hill

IISIS Site of ReincarnationWhen she was 11 years old, Gladys and her brother were taken on a trip by their mother from Northamptonshire, where they were living, to Dorset. They were going to visit relatives over Christmas. Gladys describes a scene that occurred during their journey:

“After leaving Yeovil our train stopped for some time, and to my surprise I found the country quite familiar to me, especially a hilly field opposite.

I said to my brother, ‘When I was quite a little girl I lived in a house near here. I remember running down a hill in that field with two grown-ups holding my hands and we all fell down and I hurt my leg badly.’

Here my mother broke in to scold me for telling deliberate untruths. I had never been that way before and certainly never lived there. I insisted that I had, and that when I ran down the hill I was wearing a white frock down to my ankles with little green leaves on it, and the persons holding my hands were wearing blue-and-white checked frocks.

I said, ‘My name was Margaret then.’” (1)

Validation of Gladys’s Past Life Memory of Falling

iisisreincarnationpastlifeevidencecarThe source of Gladys’s memories of an apparent past lifetime remained a mystery for the next 17 years. Then, during another trip to Dorset in 1928, when Gladys was 28 years old, she unexpectedly received confirmation of her past life memories. Let us again let Gladys narrate the turn of events:

“I was motoring in 1928 with my then employer through Dorset. While having a tire changed, we went to a cottage not far from Poole where a young woman got us tea.

Spirit Being Guidance: Gladys Sees Herself in an Old Portrait & Receives Validation of her Past Life Memory

While waiting for it, I saw an old portrait on glass, and to my amazement I saw it was myself as I was then, running down that hill, a child of five with a plain, serious face, in a long white dress sprigged with green.

I exclaimed, ‘Why that is me.’ And of course both my employer and the woman laughed. The woman said, ‘Well, that child died years ago, but I guess you were just like her when you were small,’ and my employer agreed.

IISISReincarnationPastLifeEvidencePortriatSeeing I was interested, the woman called her mother to tell me the story of the child.

She said the child was Margaret Kempthorne, the only child of a farmer. The mother of the story-teller at that time was employed at the farm as a dairymaid.

When Margaret was about five she was running down a hill with this dairymaid and another, when one of the grown-ups caught her foot in a rabbit-hole and they all fell, with the child undermost.

Her leg was badly broken. She never recovered and died two months after…’” (2)

Past Life Memory: Location of Margaret’s Past Lifetime, in Yeovil, is Confirmed

Gladys inquired where the farm, where Margaret fell, was located. The old lady replied that she didn’t know the exact location of the farm, but that it was near the market town, Yeovil, where their milk and farm products were sold.

Gladys asked when this happened. The old lady responded by taking the portrait down and handing it to Gladys, who looked at the back of the portrait where a piece of paper with writing was found glued to the portrait. Gladys narrates:

“I read there, ‘Margaret Kempthorne, born January 25, 1830, died October 11, 1835” (3)

Recall that Gladys was also born on January 25, in the year 1900. Given these dates, Gladys was born 65 years after Margaret had died.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Geographic Past life Memory: Gladys’s past life memories were stimulated by traveling through the physical location of her past incarnation in the area around Yeovil, England.

Physical Resemblance: Gladys, her employer and the young woman in Dorset, where the painting of Margaret Kempthorne was found, all agreed that there was a strong physical resemblance between Margaret and Gladys.

Phobia from a Past Lifetime: Margaret died from a fall which resulted in a broken leg, which led to her death. Gladys, as a young girl, had a phobia of falling down.

Spirit Beings: This case was validated by Gladys fortuitously finding the house where a witness to the life of Margaret Kempthorne lived. There, a painting of Margaret was hanging on the wall, which Gladys recognized as herself in a prior incarnation. In this portrait, Margaret was wearing the same frock that Gladys saw in her past life memories, a white frock with green decorations.

The witness to the life of Margaret, described as an “old lady” by Gladys, was the mother of the owner of the house. This old lady’s mother, the grandmother of the owner of the house, was one of the very people that Margaret was with when she was running down the hill and fell, breaking her leg, which led to her death.

What are the odds of finding this house by chance? Gladys found this house because the car she was traveling in with her employer had a flat tire, which required repair.

It is proposed that the flat tire occurred at that very spot because spirit beings caused that incident to happen, which allowed Gladys to validate her past life memories. This type of proposed spirit being intervention was also observed in the cases of Carroll Beckwith | Robert Snow and John B. Gordon | Jeff Keene.

Planning of Future Incarnations: In reviewing this reincarnation case, we observe a common date of birth. Margaret Kempthorne was born on January 25, 1830 and Gladys Deacon was born on January 25, 1900. Though the common date of birth of January 25 could be simply a coincidence, it could also represent Margaret, from the spirit world, planning her birth on that date to draw a tie from her past incarnation to her future one.

There are cases in which the date of an individual’s reincarnation has been predicted from the spirit world. In the reincarnation case of Felix Fresnel | Cristophe Albert, Felix, from the spirit world, predicted the date, place and family of his coming incarnation. In the reincarnation case of Jaako Vuorenlehto | Taru Javi, Jaako, from the spirit world, predicted the date of his reincarnation.

Change of Religion: Gladys was born into a Roman Catholic family and her mother was quite surprised when Gladys, at 11 years of age, started to describe incidents from a past lifetime. In this case, a Roman Catholic girl became a convert to a belief in reincarnation.

Child Reincarnation Story of Bootlegger Sammy Fernando | Sujith Jayaratne

Same appearance and behaviors across two lifetimes.

How Cases Derived: Past Life Memories in Childhood

Researcher: Ian Stevenson, MD

From: Reincarnation and Biology: A Contribution to the Etiology of Birthmarks and Birth Defects, by Ian Stevenson, MD

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD, from Born Again

The Early Life of Sammy Fernando

B. Selvin Fernando, who would be known by his nickname, Sammy, was born on January 3, 1919 in Gorankana, Sri Lanka. Gorankana is 10 miles or 17 kilometers south of Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. Gorankana Sammy was another name Selvin was known by.

Sammy’s father was B. Jamis Fernando, who had a defect of his right eye, in which the lens was opaque. His mother’s name was W. Lucia Silva. Sammy had a younger brother named Milton, who later in life had the misfortune of falling from a train. Milton incurred a serious injury to his back and had to be placed in a cast. After the cast was removed, Milton walked with limp and had to use a cane. The family lived in the Gorakawatte section of Gorakana. (1)

As a youngster, Sammy spent much time in a Buddhist temple that was called Kale Pansala, which means “Forest Temple.” It was only 100 meters or yards from his home. There were two monks at this temple, with whom Sammy became acquainted with. One of these monks was named Amitha. As a young adult, Sammy would contribute generously to this temple.

Later in life, Sammy embarked on a pilgrimage to Adam’s Peak, a tall mountain in Sri Lanka. Folklore has it that the Buddha himself stayed on this peak.

Sammy attended an elementary school called Kabal Iskole, which means “dilapidated school” in English. (2)

Sammy Dances, Sings and Plays Instruments at the Family’s Dance Hall

Sammy possessed natural talents for singing, playing musical instruments and dancing. He learned to play the Japanese mandolin and when he grew older, he became proficient at playing a drum called the rabana, as well as a larger drum that was about a yard or meter long.

Jamis, Sammy’s father, had a special structure built on the family’s property designed for dancing and music, where Sammy would demonstrate his skills. The structure had a roof and an open frame, so festivities had the ambiance of the outdoors, but was protected from the rain. (3)

Sammy works for the Railroad and Falls in Love with Maggie Alwis

In adulthood, Sammy was first employed by a bus company and later by the government railways, where he worked in engines.

Sammy fell in love with an older, beautiful woman named Maggilin Alwis, though Sammy called her Maggie or Maggio. The couple eventually married and Sammy moved into the house owned by Maggie. The house was on the main highway between Colombo and another city called Galle. The road was a major thoroughfare and commercial trucks traversed it, often at high speed. The property owned by Maggie, and now Sammy, extended to a nearby river. The couple eventually had a daughter, who was named Nandanie.

During the early period of their relationship, Sammy’s desire to be with Maggie was so great that he often missed work to be with her. His absences became so frequent, that he was fired from his railway job when he was 25 years of age. (4)

Sammy becomes a Distiller and Bootlegger

After being terminated from the railway, Sammy had few options for employment. He solved this problem by becoming a self-employed distiller of arrack, an alcoholic drink consumed in Sri Lanka. Sammy became very good at his craft and his arrack was in high demand.

Unfortunately for Sammy, the production of arrack at the time was a government monopoly and it was illegal for others to distill it. As such, Sammy kept his still in the jungle behind his home. He distributed the liquor he produced by boat, traveling by the river that was adjacent to their property. Sammy built a dock for his boat on their land.

Sammy Spends Time in Prison, Carries a Dagger, Wears Brass Knuckles & Builds a Secret Path

Still, police periodically raided Sammy’s operation and would arrest him. The police would wait in the front of his house until Sammy came home, at which time he would be taken into custody. He was imprisoned at least 8 times. To evade authorities, Sammy cut a trail in the jungle so that he could access his house from the rear. This way he would not have to enter by the front door, which was adjacent to the road between Colombo and Galle.

Bootlegging, as it is called in the United States, is not for the faint hearted, and Sammy’s personality was right for the profession. He was known to be fearless, possessed a long dagger and brass knuckles, also known as knucklebusters, which is a metal weapon worn on the hand to make punches more lethal. (5)

Sammy’s Alcoholism

In addition to being a skilled producer of arrack, Sammy was a very avid consumer of the drink; so much so that Ian Stevenson assessed that Sammy’s consumption warranted the diagnosis of alcoholism. When Sammy went on his boat trips to sell arrack, he often took no food, finding that arrack satisfied his nutritional needs.

A favorite drinking venue of his was a tavern at a place called Moratua. Sammy would take his brother-in-law, Martin Alwis, as well as another drinking buddy, Wimalasdasa de Alwis, to the Moratua tavern.

When he was at home, Sammy would drink in his favorite chair and assume a posture with his legs drawn up, similar to the lotus position used by those who meditate.

Sammy’s Taste for Cigarettes and Terrylene Shirts

Like many consumers of alcohol, Sammy was also a smoker and his favorite cigarette brands where Four Aces and Three Roses, which were more expensive than lesser quality cigarettes available in Sri Lanka. Sammy was also particular about his clothing and preferred to wear expensive shirts made of synthetic fiber called Terrylene.

With these shirts, he would don a sarong, a skirt-like piece of apparel that men in Sri Lanka wear. Sammy would tie the top ends of the sarong into a knot that would protrude up above the sarong, just below the navel or belly button. Sammy would keep money in this knot. (6)

Sammy’s Temper and Assaults on Maggie

As often occurs, Sammy’s tendency to be violent was enhanced when he drank arrack. As one of Sammy’s friends observed, “He had a bad temper when drunk and he was invariably drunk.” (7)

A frequent target for Sammy’s anger was Maggie. When he was in a drunken state, he would start an argument and curse vociferously, using a broad spectrum of swear words. Maggie adopted the strategy of leaving the house and walking away down the Colombo-Galle road.

To add to her woes, Sammy acquired a mistress, with whom he had an illegitimate son, who was named Sunil Fernando. Sammy did not show much affection to his daughter, Nandanie, nor did he give his daughter money.

Kusuma gives Sammy Refuge

In contrast, Sammy was very generous to his favorite niece, Kusuma Dabare, who was the daughter of Sammy’s younger sister. Kusuma lived with Sammy’s parents, Jamis and Lucia, at their home in the Gorakawatte section of Gorakana.

After an episode of drinking, Sammy would go to his parent’s house and ask Kusuma to cook for him and she obliged him by preparing hot meals for him. This pattern occurred 3 times a week. In gratitude, Sammy gave money to Kusuma liberally. Sammy also had the tendency to give money to children, the poor and as mentioned, the Kale Pansala temple. (8)

The Death of Gorakana Sammy

Sammy’s demise occurred on January 29, 1969. He was drunk and started an argument with Maggie. Her brother, Martin Alwis, was present. As usual, Maggie escaped from Sammy by leaving the house and walking away down the Colombo-Galle road. Sammy followed her, with Martin in tow. Sammy stopped in a shop with Martin to purchase cigarettes.

As Martin was making his purchase, in his drunken state, Sammy walked out of the shop and onto the road, where a truck struck him. Martin heard the sound of he vehicle crashing into Sammy, exited the shop and found him on the roadway sprawled on his back. Sammy died shortly thereafter at 50 years of age.

Despite his faults, the poor remembered Sammy’s generosity, so much so that they raised enough money to pay the complete cost of his funeral. In fact, Sammy gave away so much money that the only possessions he still had at the time of his death were a ring, a belt and his brass knuckles. (9)

Sammy is Reincarnated Six Months Later

Sujith Lakmal Jayaratne was born on August 8, 1969, a little over six months after Sammy died. His parents lived in Mount Lavinia, which is 3 miles or 5 kilometers south of Colombo. Gorankana, the village where Sammy lived, is another 7 miles or 12 kilometers further south from Mount Lavinia. (10)

Sujith’s Past Life Memories Include Working for the Railroad and Milton’s Fall

Before acquiring much of a vocabulary, Sujith tried to express memories of a prior incarnation. He would use gestures and sounds to try to communicate. When he was asked what he did in the prior lifetime, he made sounds that imitated a steam locomotive engine.

When his speech became more developed, he said that he had worked in the engines of trains and that he was fired from his railroad job. Ian Stevenson was impressed that Sujith recalled being terminated from the railroad, which occurred when Sammy was 25 years of age, which meant that almost 55 years had transpired when Sujith reported this event. (11)

Also, before he learned to talk, he tried to express that someone had fallen and became lame by imitating a person limping and using a cane. Later, when Sujith was able to converse, he told his mother that the person who fell and limped as a result was his brother in the prior lifetime, whose name was Milton, which was accurate regarding Milton Fernando. (12)

Sujith’s Past Life Memories of Being Gorakana Sammy

As a child, Sujith said that his name was Sammy and that he was from Gorakana. He said he was called “Gorakana Sammy.” Sujith frequently referred his father, who he said was named Jamis and who had a bad right eye. He had a tendency to speak in the present tense. For example, Sujith said, “Jamis is at Gorakana,” whereas in reality, Jamis had died in September 1970. He repeatedly asked to be taken to Gorakana. He made the statement, “This is not my home and I wish to be taken to Gorakana.” (13)

Sujith later said that he lived in the Gorakawatte section of Gorakana, which is where Jamis and his family lived and where Sammy grew up. Ian Stevenson was especially impressed at Sujith’s knowledge of the term Gorakawatte, as it was an old term for the area that had not been used for several decades. In the years before Sujith’s birth, a new name, Ampityawatte, was used for the neighborhood. (14)

Past Life Memories: Sujith remembers the Dilapidated Schoolhouse and Forest Temple

Sujith said that he went to school at Kable Iskole, which means the “dilapidated school,” and that his teacher was named Francis. Sammy did indeed go to this run down elementary school and his teacher was indeed named Francis. (15)

Sujith said that he used to go Kale Pansala, translated as the “Forest Temple,” that two monks lived there and that he used to give money to this temple. He said one of the monks was named Amitha. Sammy did contribute to this temple, which was only 100 meters from his childhood home, and Sammy knew the monk Amitha.

Ian Stevenson was also impressed that Sujith knew the term Kale Pansala. When Sujith made these statements, the term Kale Pansala had not been used for several decades. Though Kale Pansala was present during Sammy’s early years, the temple was moved to a different location and was called by a completely different name, Dharmarakshitaramaya.

Again, Ian Stevenson was impressed how far back in Sammy’s lifetime Sujith could access memories. (16)

Sujith’s Past Life Phobia of Trucks

From an early age, Sujith had a marked fear or phobia of trucks. The family didn’t understand why he had this fear. Then one night, Sujith woke up from sleep and he ran around the house waking up everyone in his family. He then informed them:

“Do you know that I was run over by a lorry and that is how I died?”

Since the English colonized Sri Lanka, the British term for truck is used by Sri Lankans, which is “lorry.” After waking up everyone to announce the cause of his death in his prior incarnation, Sujith went back to sleep.

On another occasion, he woke the family up again and said he wanted to go to Gorakana, then went back to sleep. (17)

Past Life Behavior: In a Teetotaler Family, as a Child, Sujith asks for Arrack and Pretends he is Drunk

Since no one in his family drank alcohol, they were shocked when Sujith, as a child, asked for arrack.

Subsequently, Sujith asked for arrack frequently. When he realized that his family would not comply with his requests, he would go to his neighbors to ask for arrack. One of them finally complied, but stopped giving arrack to the child when Sujith’s grandmother objected and chastised the neighbor.

At times, when he was given a soda to drink, Sujith would pretend that the beverage would make him drunk. He would weave around as if he was intoxicated and fall on the floor and say “bila,” which means, “having drunk.”

He would also assume Sammy’s drinking posture, in that he would sit in a chair with his legs drawn up. After taking a sip of the soda, he would make a sound with his throat that arrack drinkers make. He would then wipe his mouth, as if he was removing traces of an irritating, strong alcoholic drink from his lips, again, a behavior typical of arrack drinkers.

At other times, Sujith would just fall to the ground and say, “I am drunk,” even without the soda. (18)

Sujith remembers being a Bootlegger in a Past Life

Sujith told his family that he also sold arrack. He said that once he filled a boat with arrack and that the boat sank. This incident occurred 8 years before Sammy’s death.

He also recalled that he could access his house via a jungle path. (19)

Past Life Behavior: Sujith asks for Four Aces and Bums a Cigarette

As no one in the family smoked, they were also surprised when Sujith, as a 4 year old, asked them to get Four Aces cigarettes for him, which was one of the brands that Sammy smoked. Again, they would not comply. Still, Sujith tried to smoke and he once bummed a cigarette from a visitor and then asked his mother for a light. (20)

Past Life Emotions: Sujith recalls his Fights with Maggie and Affection for Kusuma

Sujith told his family that he had a wife named Maggie that he fought with. When they asked why he fought with Maggie, Sujith replied it was because he was drunk. He said that he had a daughter named Nandanie and a niece named Kusuma, who was his younger sister’s daughter, who had very long and thick hair.

He said that Kusuma was in Gorakana and that he gave money to her. Sujith said that Kusuma made a hot meal for him called “string hoppers,” which is a type of noodle dish. All these statements were accurate regarding Sammy’s wife and niece. (21)

Later, Sujith said, “When I start earning I will give… to Kusuma,” showing his intent to replicate their relationship. (22)

Sujith Remembers Details of his Past Life Death

Sujith said that after he had an argument with Maggie, he went to a shop to get cigarettes, then stepped out on the road and was killed when a truck struck him. Sujith would even imitate the posture that he was in on the road after being struck. He would lay on the ground, on his back, with one arm stuck out. This was the posture that Sammy was in after being hit by the truck, as observed by his brother in law, Martin. (23)

Wattarappola, a Buddhist Monk, Investigates Sujith’s Past life Memories

The family came to believe that Sujith had a past incarnation in Gorakana, but they didn’t know anyone in that village to approach. The family had a relative, Wattarappola Nadaratana, who was a monk. When he heard about Sujith’s remarks alluding to a past lifetime, he documented these statements and decided to investigate.

Wattarappola went to Gorakana to make inquiries. There he met Kusuma Dabare, Sammy’s favorite niece, on March 13, 1972, and he told her about Sujith’s statements. At first, she did not know what to make of the situation, but she went home and consulted with her family about Sujith’s past life memories. (24)

Kusama and other Relatives Visit Sujith

Kusuma traveled to Mt. Lavinia two days later, on March 15, 1972, and sought out Wattarappola, who said it was premature to meet Sujith. Instead, he said he would return to Gorakana and meet with Sammy’s family. He did so and confirmed that Sujith’s statements were accurate regarding the lifetime of Sammy Fernando.

News spread through the Fernando family and Kusuma and 10 others from Gorakana arrived at Sujith’s home on March 30, 1972. The sight of such a large party frightened Sujith. He held onto his mother and said nothing.

She returned the next day with only 4 others. Sujith recognized her and called Kusuma by name. Sujith also recognized one of the other visitors, Sammy’s nephew, and called him by his name, Kithsiri. (25)

On another occasion, a distant relative of Sammy Fernando named Princie came to Sujith’s home and stood in front of the house. Though a large crowd was present along with her, Sujith recognized her and said, “Come in. Come in.” He correctly said, “You are Princie.” (26)

Maggie Visits Sujith, her Past Life Husband

Maggie, Sammy’s widow, came to visit Sujith in Mount Lavinia. Wattarappola, who was convinced that Sujith’s family did not know who she was at the time of their first meeting, documented the scene. His narrative of events follows:

“On April 3, 1972, Maggilin Alwis called on the child’s house accompanied by a couple of other ladies of the same age group. For about 20 minutes, the child did not speak. Thereafter he suddenly called out ‘Maggie’ to one lady and said: ‘Maggie is going down the road.’

We enquired from the lady whether she was named correctly. She said her late husband always called her Maggie, and that when he came home drunk and picked a quarrel with her, she always walked down the road.

After this the child ran inside the house. During his absence I got all the visitors into a room unseen by the child and I myself remained on the veranda. The child came out after a few minutes and very excitedly started calling out:

‘Where is Maggilin? Where is Maggilin? Went to Gorakana. Went to Gorakana.’

He started running about in the house and dashed into the room where the ladies were.

‘I love you Maggie, I love you Maggie,’ he said to Maggilin.

The lady started crying and embraced the child lovingly. The child said:

‘Look what you did to me. Look what you did to me.’

We inquired of her what this meant. She explained that on the day Sammy Fernando met his death, he came home roaring drunk and started to quarrel with her. She fled down the road and he started chasing her and was knocked down by a lorry.

Later when the party, along with Maggalin, were leaving [to return] Gorakana, the child became restive and wanted to go along with them.” (27)

Sujith Recognizes his Past Life Drinking Buddies

Other of Sammy’s friends and family came to visit Sujith at Mount Lavinia. Sujith seemed to remember which of these individuals used to drink arrack with Sammy and which did not. He only invited Sammy’s drinking cohorts to have arrack.

When Martin, Sammy’s brother-in- law, came to Mount Lavinia, Sujith suggested that they go to the tavern at Moratuwa , where Martin and Sammy used to go. When another of Sammy’s drinking companions, Wimalasdasa de Alwis, came to visit him, little Sujith addressed the middle-aged man like a familiar old friend, and asked him for arrack. (28)

Sujith is taken to his Past Life Home

On April 29, 1973, Wattarappola took Sujith to Gorakana. When taken to the Jamis’s house, where Sammy grew up, Sujith went all over the house looking for Jamis. When Sujith couldn’t find him, he made the statement, “My father Jamis is not here.” It was at this time that Sujith first learned that Jamis had died. (29)

Sujith also recognized the open-air structure on the property and correctly stated that it was used for dancing. At the property, Sujith asked for Sammy’s drum. When it was brought out, since it was too large for Sujith to hold (it was a meter long), he sat on it and banged on one end. (30)

Sujith also recognized Sammy’s ring, belt and brass knuckles. Sujith wanted to keep these articles and bring them back to Mount Lavinia, and was annoyed when he was not allowed to do so. (31)

Past Life Behavior: Similarities in Sammy’s and Sujith’s Preferences in Regards to Food and Clothing

There were similarities in tastes between Sammy and Sujith. In terms of food, both liked spicy dishes, such as hot curries. Another distinctive shared trait shared involves Sujith’s request for expensive Terrylene shirts. Ian Stevenson even saw Sujith wearing such a shirt. (32)

Most men who wear sarongs in Sri Lanka tie the top of the sarong above the navel. In contrast, both Sammy and Sujith positioned the top of a sarong below the belly button and they both formed a large knot with the sarong material on the top of the garment. When Sujith was asked why he made such a knot, he explained that the knot is where he would keep money, a habit that Sammy also had. (33)

Sujith’s Phobias from a Past Lifetime

Sujith had fears related to his past lifetime as Sammy. When he was only 8 months of age, his mother realized that Sujith had a fearful response to just the word “lorry.” She exploited this fear by saying “lorry” if Sujith wouldn’t drink his milk. “Lorry” would intimidate him into submission. (34)

As mentioned, Sujith often wanted to be taken to Gorakana. If asked if he would go there by truck, he refused, When offered to be taken to Gorakana by car, he would accept. Wattarappola noted that Sujith was “mortally afraid of lorries.” (35)

Sujith was also afraid of policemen. His aunt noticed that if he saw policemen, he would go inside the house. He later would ask his aunt if the police had passed by, which would mean that he was safe. (36)

Past Life Behavior: Sujith has Sammy’s Tendency to be Violent

Sammy was perceived as fearless and Sujith demonstrated a total lack of inhibition. Both had a tendency towards being violent.

Ian Stevenson witnessed Sujith kick one of the neighbors with “great zeal and persistence,” and he also saw Sujith hit another individual, who was minding his own business, with a fist. Stevenson also saw Sujith spit on his grandmother.

Wattarappola said he had seen Sujith push his mother into a corner and then pummel her, saying this is how the police assault. Sujith’s aunt said that when scolded, Sujith would sometimes threaten to stab the offender with a knife.

Despite these aggressive traits, Sujith also demonstrated generosity, much like Sammy. (37)

Sujith has Sexual Feelings for Maggie, his Past Life Wife, then Wounds Her, Like Sammy

Another parallel occurred in relation to Maggie. In July 1973, when Sujith was almost 4 years old, he announced that he was going to go to Maggie’s house and not return. He said he would sleep at Maggie’s house, and the family got the impression that his intention was not just to sleep.

After Maggie met Sujith, she became fond of him and visited Sujith in Mount Lavinia quite often. After a period of time, she discontinued her visits, explaining that Sujith had become rude.

In contrast, when Kusuma Dabare was to be married, she invited Sujith and his family to her wedding. Recall that when Sammy got drunk, fought with Maggie and left their house, he would seek refuge at his parent’s home, where Kusume would cook hot meals for him. (38)

Xenoglossy: Expletives from a Past Lifetime

Sujith’s family was very proper. As such, they were very surprised to find that Sujith had an extensive vocabulary of obscene words. Sammy had a habit of swearing and shouting obscenities when drunk.

Ian Stevenson went so far as positing that this could be equated to xenoglossy, in which an individual knows a foreign language that was not learned in the contemporary lifetime. Stevenson reasoned that Sujith’s extensive vocabulary of expletives could not have been learned at home, given the respectable character of his mother and grandmother. Sujith’s father had left the family soon after Sujith was born, so there were no others who could have taught the toddler these expletives. (39)

Reincarnation & Similar Appearance Across Lifetimes

A similarity in physical appearance was noted between Sammy and Sujith. Even the way they walked, their gait, was the same. (40)

A Christian Relative believes Sujith is the Reincarnation of Sammy and Sujith gives Sammy’s Son Goosebumps

IISISReincarnation CaseschristianityreincarnationpastlivescrossThough both Sammy’s and Sujith’s families were Buddhists, Sammy’s son in law, Sri Nimal Rodrigo, was Christian. He stated:

“I am a Roman Catholic and do not believe in rebirth, but from what I saw of Sujith and his recognitions I am convinced that he is Sammy reborn.” (41)

Another episode that demonstrates the power of Sujith’s recognitions involves Sunil Fernando, Sammy’s illegitimate son. Sunil came to meet Sujith at Mount Lavinia. Sunil was a complete stranger to Sujith’s family and he did not introduce himself to anyone. Sujith recognized him and said, “Come here, Sunil.”

Sunil said that Sujith’s recognition of him gave him “a terrible shock,” as well as gooseflesh. (42)

Sujith’s Later Development and Past Life Drinking Behavior

As Sujith surpassed 6 years of age, he no longer talked about his previous life as Sammy, he no longer used obscenities and he became less violent. Still, when he saw people drinking arrack, he would propose that he should have some himself. (43)

Understanding Past Lives & Principles of Reincarnation

Physical Resemblance from one lifetime to another: It was noted that there exists a similarity in physical appearance between Sammy and Sujith, as well as in their gaits.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: Sammy was reborn as Sujith in Mount Lavinia, which is 5 miles or 7 kilometers from Gorankana, the town where Sammy had lived. After Sujith shared his past life memories, his family was able to find Sujith’s past life family and he was reunited with Sammy’s family, his past life wife and past life drinking companions.

Phobia from a Past Lifetime: Sujith had a severe phobia of trucks and even as an 8 month old infant demonstrated a marked fear of the word “lorry,” which is explained by the fact that Sammy was killed by a truck. Sujith also had an aversion to policemen due to his being incarcerated, as Sammy, multiple times.

Xenoglossy: Ian Stevenson felt that Sujith’s extensive vocabulary of expletives or cuss words qualified for xenoglossy, as there was not way that Sujith learned this language from the two very proper women who raised him.

Child Reincarnation Stories of Daw Aye Phyu | Ma Nyunt Nyunt San and Daw Sapai | Ma San San Nyunt:

The story of two Burmese sisters Phyu and Saipai who reincarnated as twin sisters San and Nyunt. A proof of reincarnation emphasized by the exceptionally significant physical resemblance of the persons in both lifetime.

Past Life Stories of Sisters Phyu and Saipai & the Twins San and Nyunt: Sisters Reincarnate as Twins

IISISPhyuSaipaiTwinReincarnationCasesThis set of cases involves two Burmese sisters who reincarnated as twin sisters, in which images demonstrate physical resemblances from one lifetime to another. As their names can be confusing for those who are not Burmese, I will abbreviate them for use in this narrative, utilizing the last word in their sequence of their names. As such, the names that will be used are defined below:

Daw Aye Phyu, the dominant past life sister, will be referred to as Phyu.

Daw Sapai, the younger and married past life sister, will be referred to as Sapai.

Ma Nyunt Nyunt San, the dominant twin, who has been identified as the reincarnation of Daw Aye Phyu, will be referred to as San.

Ma San San Nyunt, who has been identified as the reincarnation of Sapai, will be referred to as Nyunt.

The Lives and of Daw Aye Phyu and Daw Sapai

Daw Aye Phyu was the older sister and was born in 1869 or 1870, in the Burmese village of Seikcho, which had a population of about 500 people. She expected respect from those younger than her and would not allow anyone to talk back to her, which made her appear as a dominant individual. Phyu never married. She died in 1962 at the age of 92.

Her sister, Daw Sapai was born around 1881. She eventually married and lived in the same compound in Seikcho as Phyu, though in a different house. Sapai had a son named U Htun Su who liked to drink and gamble, which his mother did not approve of. Sapai had a grand-daughter named Ma Nge, who she called by the pet name of “Min Nge.” Sapai died in 1961 at the age of 80.

Both sisters were pious Buddhists and were engaged in compassionate acts, such as building shelters for pilgrims and founding a small monastery. They were very close to one another.

They had a distant male relative, U Bo Kay, a policeman, who regarded the elderly sisters as his aunts. During their final illnesses U Bo Kay cared for them, brought physicians to tend to them and bought medicines for them.

Sisters are Reincarnated as Twins

IISISPhyuSaipaiTwinReincarnationCasesAbout two years after Phyu and Sapai died twin sisters were born in 1964 to U Bo Kay and his wife, Dwa Thein Yin, who we will refer to Yin. They were named Ma Nyunt Nyunt San and Ma San San Nyunt. Nyunt was born 20 minutes before San. The twins were born in the city of Yanaung, which had a population of 5000 and was about 4 km from Seikcho. Ian Stevenson believed that the twins were fraternal or dizygotic, as they had different facial features, though testing was not performed to confirm this.

Nyunt says She is from the Kokka Tree

When the twins were about two years old, their mother, Yin, ask them in jest,

“How is it that you both came to trouble me?” (11) Nyunt responded that she came from the kokka tree, which in translation means the acacia tree. This puzzled Yin, as there were no kokka trees in their area.

When the twins were three or four years old, someone mentioned the name of the U Htun Su, Sapai’s son. Nyunt then said testily that he should not be allowed to come to Yanaung because he “is a gambler” and “spend up all my property.” (12) Yin, realizing that Nyunt seem to be remembering the lifetime of Daw Sapai, asked her husband whether there are kokka trees in Seikcho. He confirmed that there were.

The Twins Remember their Past Life Names

About this time, the twins themselves said that they came from Seikcho. They said that they had put up water stands for travelers. Recall that Phyu and Sapai had put up shelters for travelers, which could’ve also included water stands.

In 1978, at the age of 5, the twins gave the names of the two sisters, Daw Aye Phyu and Daw Sapai, whose lives they seemed to be remembering. Yin, their mother, then showed the twins a photograph of the sisters. San said that Phyu was her and Nyunt said that the photograph of Saipai was of her. Yin said that subsequently the twins often talked about their previous lives to each other and they seem to be very attached to one another.

Past Life Behavior: Phyu | San have the Same Traits Relative to Sapai | Nyunt

It was noted that of the twins, San was more dominant, darker in complexion and lighter in build than Nyunt. These traits correspond to those of the past life sisters, as Phyu was also dominant, darker in complexion and lighter in build than Sapai. One difference is that in the past lifetimes, Phyu was the older sister, while in their contemporary lifetimes, San, the reincarnation of Phyu, was born 20 minutes after Nyunt.

The Twins visit their Past Life Homes

The twins were eventually taken to Seikcho with their parents and each twin went to their respective past life home. San saw that her past life home was being remodeled and complained, “My house is being demolished” (13) Inside the houses, when they saw photographs of Phyu and Sapai, they said they wanted to keep them.

Nyunt meets her Prodigal Past Life Son and Past Life Granddaughter

During their visit to their past life homes, Sapai’s son, U Htun Su, witnessed the proceedings, including Nyunt identifying herself as Saipai, his deceased mother. Nyunt then said to U Htun Su, “I don’t want to see you.” (14) In November 1980, Ian Stevenson asked Nyunt, when she was six years old, how she felt about U Htun Su. She replied, “I regard him as my son.” She then added that he gambled money. Stevenson asked if she had forgiven him. She replied, “I have gotten over my dislike of him.” In contrast, U Htun Su felt that both twins were unfriendly to him. (15)

In Seikcho, Nyunt made a significant recognition when she saw her past life granddaughter Min Ng approaching. Nyunt then made the statement:

“Min Nge is coming.” (16) Subsequently, the twins showed a strong interest in repeatedly being taken to Seikcho and later in childhood, they often went there on their own. When scolded, they even threaten to leave home and “return” to Seikcho. Nyunt would even pack her possessions to take with her to Seikcho, but the twins were prevented from moving.

Understanding Past Lives & Principles of Reincarnation

Physical Resemblance: There is a marked resemblance between and Daw Aye Phyu and her reincarnation, Ma Nyunt Nyunt San, as well as between Daw Sapai and her reincarnation, Ma San San Nyunt. Though there was thought to be a distant familial relationship between the sisters and the twins, which could account for physical resemblance, it is significant that the twins matched their past life personas specifically in both physical appearance and personality.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: The elderly sisters, who were very close, reincarnated as twin sisters. Ian Stevenson noted that it appeared that the reason for their reincarnation as twins was affection. As noted before, Ian Stevenson’s research involving 31 sets of twins showed that in all cases, the twins had significant past life relationships. The most common type of past life relationship was of siblings, which was observed in this set of cases.

Planning of Lifetimes: The sisters not only reincarnated as twins, they were born to the wife of U Bo Kay, who considered the elderly sisters as his aunts and took good care of them during their final illnesses. As such, it appears that from the spirit world, the sisters chose to incarnate into the family of an individual who loved them,

Child Reincarnation Story of Alessandrina Samona 1 and 2

A child Alessandrina died of meningitis at a very young age of 5, who later reincarnated as her younger sister. A reincarnation research case showing proof of reincarnation within the same family by Dr. Ian Stevenson, MD.

How Derived: Past Life Memories in Childhood, Spirit Being Guidance, Similarities in Appearance and Behavior

Researcher: Carmelo Samona, MD

Alessandrina Dies of Meningitis

ReincarnationEviidenceBabyCamelo Samona was a medical physician in Palermo, Italy, who in 1911 published a report regarding a reincarnation case involving his daughter, Alessandrina. Carmelo’s wife’s name was Adele and in addition to their daughter, they had three sons.

Alessandrina contracted meningitis at the age of about 5 and she died on March 15, 1910.

From the Spirit Realm, Alessandrina Communicates through a Dream

Three days after Alessandrina’s death, her mother, Adele, had a dream of her dead daughter who said.

“Mother, do not cry, I have not left you, only withdrawn. Look! I am going to become small like this.” In the dream, Alessandria then made a gesture to indicate the size of a baby. She then said, “You will have to suffer again for me.” (1)

As a Spirit, Alessandrina Knocks on the Door

IISISReincarnationKnockDoor

Three days later, Adele had the same dream. A few days after these dreams, Camelo and Adele both heard three loud knocks at their door. Their three sons also heard the knocks. The family opened the door, but no one was there.

On April 10, 1910, less than a month after Alessandrina had died, Adele realized she was pregnant. Due to the dreams and the knocks on the door, Camelo and Adele decided to participate in séances, hoping to better understand what was going on.

Alessandrina Communicates from the Spirit World

On May 4, 1910, Camelo and Adele participated in a mediumistic seance. In these sessions, a medium would pass on information from deceased individuals, souls in the spirit world, to the human beings who participated in the séance. Often times, deceased relatives of participants would communicate through the medium.

In a seance, Alessandrina came through and said that she had caused the there knocks on the door to draw attention to herself. She told her parents that she was coming back and that she would be born before Christmas. She said she would be very similar to before. She repeatedly said that she wanted all her family and friends to know that she was returning. Alessandrina said this so many times that Carmelo found it annoying.

ReincarnationEviidenceTwinsIn the seances, Adele and Camelo were also told that a second soul was around them and that this soul would be born with Alessandrina. In other words, Adele would have twins.

Through the medium, Alessandrina also told Adele and Camelo that after the third month of pregnancy, Alessandrina would not be able to communicate through the séances as she would be more attached to matter and as a result, would be sleeping.

Prophecies Come True & Reincarnation with Physical Resemblance

In August 1910, an obstetrician determined that Adele was indeed pregnant with twins. On November 22, 1910, twin girls were born. Adele and Camelo immediately realized that one of the girls bore an uncanny resemblance to Alessandrina. Due to the physical resemblance, they also called this girl Alessandrina, who we will refer to as Alessandrina 2. They named the other fraternal twin girl Maria. We will refer to the deceased daughter as Alessandrina 1.

ReincarnationEvidenceBarber

Adele and Camelo noted marked similarities in appearance and behavior between Alessandrina 1 and 2, which contrasted with the appearance and behavior of Maria. When the girls where two and a half years old, Camelo published a report outlining these similarities and differences. They include the following.

Alessandrina 1 & 2 Have the Same Personality Traits & Reincarnation Phobias of Loud Noises & Barbers

At birth, Alessandrina 1 and 2 both had redness in the left eye, a rash called seborrhea behind the right ear and slight facial asymmetry. Maria did not have these features.

As toddlers, Alessandrina 1 and 2 were both quiet and liked to sit quietly in their mother’s lap. They didn’t like to play with toys, but they did like to play with other children. Maria, in contrast, was restless and liked to be on her own, playing with toys.

Alessandrina 1 and 2 had phobias of loud noises and of barbers, and they both disliked any cheese. They liked to fold and smooth clothing and cloth, such as sheets and towels. They both liked to play with shoes and put adult shoes on. Maria didn’t have phobias of noise or barbers and she liked cheese. She didn’t like to fold cloth or play with shoes.

Alessandrina 1 and 2 tended to speak in the third person. When fearful, they would say, “Alessandrina is afraid. (2) They also like to create pet names. For example, Aunt Cateria became Caterana. (3). They were both left handed, became interested in spiritual matters, but avoided housework.

Maria, in contrast, did not speak in the third person, didn’t modify names, was right-handed (like all the other family members) and wasn’t interested in spiritual affairs, but she did like housekeeping.

Photographs Confirm Alessandrina 1 & 2 Reincarnation Resemblance

5iisisalessandrinasamonareincarnationIn his report, Camelo published photos comparing Alessandrina 1 when she was almost 4 years old to Alessandrina 2 and Maria when the twins were 2 years old. The images showed that indeed, Alessandrina 1 and 2 both had the same facial asymmetry, in that the left eye was significantly closer to the midline than the right. The folds of the eyelids were similarly asymmetric. Adele thought that in physical appearance, Alessandrina 2 matched Alessandrina 1 “perfectly,” except that 1 was darker in complexion. (4)

Alessandrina 2 Remembers the Past Life Visit of Alessandrina 1 to the Church in Monreale & the Priests Who Wore Red

Camelo also reported a past life memory that Alessandrina 2 had when she was 8 or 9 years old. Camelo and Adele proposed to their children that they take a vacation trip to the city of Monreale, where they would tour the great Norman church in that city. Adele said to their girls:

“When you go to Monreale, you will see some sights you have never seen before.”

Alessandrina 2 then responded:

“But Mama, I know Monreale. I have already seen it.” (5)

Adele then told her daughter that she had never been to Monreale. Alessandriana 2 then protested:

IISISReincarnationEviidenceMonreale“Yes I have. I have been there. Don’t you remember that there is a great church there with a huge man on the roof with his arms spread out? And do you not remember how we went there with a lady who had horns, and we met some small priests who wore red?” (6)

Adele and Camelo were stunned by their daughter’s response. They did not recall ever speaking to her about Monreale and they were puzzled by her reference to a woman who had horns.

Adele then remembered that a few months before Alessandriana 1’s death, they had taken to her to Monreale to see the church there. On this trip, they had taken a female friend who had a skin condition that involved prominent, protruding lesions or bumps on the forehead, which could be interpreted by a child as horns.

Adele also recalled that just as they were entering the church, they met Orthodox priests who were wearing blue robes decorated with red. Adele and Camelo also remembered that Alessandrina 1 took great notice of the woman with the skin condition on her forehead and by the priests they had met at the church.

Is This a Reincarnation Case?

IISISReincarnationEviidenceMonrealeChurchThe similarities in physical appearance and behavior between Alessandrina 1 and 2 could be explained by genetics, as they were born from the same parents.

A factor that supports that the similarities are related to the reincarnation includes observations of spirit being guidance. Adele had dreams in which Alessandrina 1 said she would be reborn to Adele. In addition, Adele participated in seances in which Alessandrina 1 said that she would be reborn with a twin, which came true.

The shared phobias of barbers and of loud noises support Alessandrina 2 being the reincarnation of Alessandrina 1.

Most importantly, Alessandrina 2 had memories of the visit to the church in Monreale, of the woman with horns on her forehead and the monks in robes with red, which all correspond to events that occurred in the life of Alessandrina 1.

Understanding Past Lives & Principles of Reincarnation

Physical appearance remains the same from one incarnation to another.

Personality traits remain consistent. As toddlers, Alessandrina 1 and 2 were both quiet and liked to sit quietly in their mother’s lap. They didn’t like to play with toys, but they did like to play with other children. They both disliked any cheese, liked to fold and smooth clothing and cloth, such as sheets and towels, and they liked to play with shoes and put adult shoes on. Alessandrina 1 and 2 tended to speak in the third person. They also like to create pet names. Maria, the sister of Alessandrina 2, did not share these traits.

Phobia from a Past Lifetime: This case demonstrates that phobias can persist from one incarnation to another, as Alessandrina 1 and 2 both had phobias of loud noises and of barbers.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: This case shows that souls can reincarnate in the same family.

Spirit Being Involvement: Alessandrina 1 was able to predict from the spirit world, through a medium, of her coming birth with a twin sister before Christmas, which did occur.

According to Alessandrina 1, after three months of pregnancy the soul becomes more closely attached to the physical plane, to the extent that communication between the soul and humans, through mediums, becomes more difficult. In short, the soul becomes more attached to the fetus at three months of pregnancy.

Split Incarnation: If it is assumed that the soul is involved with the fetus from the time of conception, this represents a case of split incarnation, as Alessandrina 2 was born only 8 months after the death of Alessandrina 1. In other words, the soul of the Alessandrinas was already involved with the fetus of Alessandrina 2, while Alessandrina 1 was still alive.

This type of split incarnation case, in which a soul is involved with a pregnancy while it animates a living person at the same time, was also observed in the Hanan Monsour | Suzanne Ghanem reincarnation case, which was also researched by Ian Stevenson, MD.

The case of Titu Singh that appeared in the London-based magazine, Reincarnation International, is one of the more fascinating cases of double birthmarks. This story was first broadcast in 1990 on the BBC TV news program Forty Minutes. The case of Titu who named names and details of his own murder made for exciting TV drama, all true. Titu Singh Remembers his Past Life Name, Wife, Shop & Death

Titu Singh was two and a half years old when he began to tell his family of his other life in Agra, a city in northern India. His memories were quite specific: he said that he had been the owner of a radio, TV and video shop, his name was Suresh Verma, he had a wife named Uma and two children. He also said that he had been shot, then cremated, and his ashes had been thrown in the river.

His parents didn’t take him seriously at first, but his behavior puzzled them–he often behaved as if he wasn’t part of their family. “Titu is just an ordinary child, but sometimes he says and does things that only adults do,” said his father.

Titu Threatens to Run Away to his Past Life Home

Repeatedly, Titu would tell his parents that he was homesick and wanted to go back to Agra. Once, he became so insistent about leaving, that he rolled his clothes into a bundle and threatened to leave home. This behavior was also observed in the: Reincarnation Cases of Burmese Twins

Titu’s Past Life Shop & Wife are Found

Titu’s older brother decided to travel to Agra to check out his young brother’s claims. He found a TV, radio and video shop called Suresh Radio, which was run by a widow named Uma whose husband had been shot, just as Titu had described. The shop is pictured to the right. The murder occurred in August 1983. The brother approached Uma and explained how his little brother claimed to be her deceased husband. This information made Uma feel very odd.

Titu Spontaneously Recognizes his Past Life Wife, Uma, & Past Life Brothers

She decided to visit the Singh family the next day and see what truth there was in this young child’s report. When the Verma family arrived unannounced, Titu was outside washing at the tap and spotted them first. He recognized them immediately and shouted to his parents that his “other family” had come.

They invited the visitors to sit on the veranda and Titu asked Uma to sit near him–an odd way for a five-year-old in India to relate to a grown woman. He asked about the children, and then stunned the widow by recounting the details of a family outing to a fair in a neighboring village where Suresh had bought her sweets, information that only she could have known. Titu later described burying gold in a hole in the house.

It was then arranged that Titu be taken to Agra. When he and his entourage arrived, it had been arranged for Suresh’s two children to be playing among many other neighborhood children as a test for Titu. Titu recognized them immediately, singling them out from their playmates.

Upon entering the Suresh Radio shop, Titu correctly identified changes made to the shop since Suresh’s death. In the adjacent image, Titu is in his past life radio store with his past life wife, Uma, who is at the far right with hands folded.

Suresh’s Parents are Certain that Titu is the Reincarnation of Suresh

Both families played out the ongoing drama of Titu. Titu’s parents had mixed feelings about his relationship with his former family. His mother, who had five older children, didn’t mind him talking about his other parents and former family. She explained, “I feel as though we are all part of the same family. I am comforted by his childish loyalty, saying that although he has parents elsewhere we will always be his real parents. But Titu complains I wear old clothes. He says he used to buy Uma expensive saris.” Titu’s father said he was afraid that when Titu is older, he might break ties with them and go to live with his other family.

Suresh’s parents are certain that Titu is their dead son Suresh reincarnated. His father said, “Titu clings to us with affection. Once in the street he came across a former nanny. She thought Titu was one of Uma’s sons. Titu got annoyed at her saying, ‘Don’t you know who I am?’” The father of Suresh added, “We talk to each other like father and son. But I don’t encourage it too much because it upsets his real parents.”

Reincarnation Birthmarks: Saresh’s Bullet Wounds are Reflected in Titu’s Birthmarks

Back to the murder: Titu accurately described how Suresh had been shot in the head at night while sitting in his car after arriving home from work. This was corroborated by Uma. The TV cameras showed the autopsy report of Suresh Verma, which confirmed that he had been shot in the head and died from a bullet wound to the right temple. The autopsy showed the exact size and location of the wound, and the exit wound on the opposite side of Suresh’s head.

Then they showed Titu’s hair being shaved to reveal a birthmark—”a round, indented shape which coincided exactly with the location of the entry wound of the bullet that killed Suresh Verma. The camera also showed a second birthmark on the other side of Titu’s head that coincided exactly with the exit wound.

Titu told more details of the murder to an Agra court and was able to “convince the authorities that he was the reincarnation of the murder victim.” The outcome of the case was not given in this account, but N. K. Chadha, a professor at Delhi University who researched the case, was quoted as saying, “Because of the police involvement, this is one of the very best documented cases of seeming reincarnation I have seen.”

If this reincarnation is accepted, it demonstrates the following features:

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases: The facial architecture of Suresh and Titu are similar.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: Suresh reincarnated as Titu not far from his past life home, which allowed Suresh to be reunited with his past life family.

Reincarnation Birthmarks: Titu has an indentation on his right temple. Suresh’s autopsy report revealed that a the bullet had entered Suresh’s head at exactly that place. Where the bullet had exited Suresh’s head, there was a mole on Titu’s head at the same location.
