Past Life Story of John B. Gordon | Jeff Keene: Spirit Being, Spiritual or Soul Guidance in a Reincarnation Case & How Evidence of Reincarnation can bring Peace

The reincarnation case of John B. Gordon | Jeffrey Keene demonstrates how evidence of reincarnation can help create a more peaceful world. Confederate officer John B. Gordon reincarnates as a Northern Connecticut Yankee, showing how souls can change cultural affiliation and incarnate as a past life enemy. This reincarnation case demonstrates the futility and wastefulness of war.

Evidence of Reincarnation can bring an End to Episodes of 911

Jeffrey Keene is a retired decorated fire fighter and Assistance Fire Chief of Westport, Connecticut. Following the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001, Keene received a special tour of “Ground Zero.” A relationship has existed between the two fire departments, as Westport’s firefighters have had a tradition of “riding along” with Rescue #1 of the Fire Department of the City of New York. Eleven members of this elite unit, Rescue #1 lost their lives on the morning of September 11, 2001.

Evidence of reincarnation can halt such tragedies, as this evidence shows that we souls can change religion, nationality, gender and race from lifetime to another.

A Reincarnation Case in which the Extraordinary Becomes the Ordinary

Jeff Keene, in his book. writes: “Like most people, I was stumbling through life minding my own business when all at once the world started having its way with me. Suddenly, the extraordinary became ordinary and strange occurrences throughout my life started to make sense.

Before too long I found myself on the front page of a state-wide newspaper and featured in an Arts and Entertainment Network documentary titled, Beyond Death. Getting to the point were the word “coincidence” was worn very thin, I decided to accept the fact that I was being guided and opened myself to what life wanted to show me. Long after I had been convinced of a past life, unusual events kept reinforcing my conclusions, so much so that the only reason I could come up with for such revelations was that I was to share them with others.”

Spiritual Guidance Pushes Jeff Keene around like a Shopping Cart

gordonkeenepastlifereincarnationevidence2Jeff has related to me that the element of guidance in his past life research has been so strong that he has felt like the spiritual world has been pushing him around “like a shopping cart.” Jeff’s story began in May 1991, when he was on vacation with his wife, Anna. They were looking for antiques and stopped in Sharpsburg, Maryland, which was where the Civil War battle of Antietam was fought. Though Jeff had never read a book on the Civil War or had any affinity for that era, he felt compelled to visit the battlefield.

A Flood of Past Life Emotions at Sunken Road

At a portion of the field called Sunken Road, Jeff listened to an audio-taped narration of events that took place in 1862. The battle involved a regiment called the Sixth Alabama, which was commanded by Colonel John B. Gordon. After listening to the tape, as he walked along the old farm lane, Jeff unknowingly strolled into the area that had been occupied by Gordon and his men. At this location, Jeff Keene had the following reaction:

“A wave of grief, sadness and anger washed over me. Without warning I was suddenly consumed by sensations. Burning tears ran down my cheeks. It became difficult to breathe. I gasped for air, as I stood transfixed in the old roadbed. To this day I cannot tell you how much time transpired, but as these feelings, this emotional overload passed, I found myself exhausted as if I had run a marathon.

Crawling up the steep embankment to get out of the road, I turned and looked back. I was a bit shaken to say the least and wondered at what had just taken place. It was difficult getting back to the car because I felt so weak.

I had regained most of my normal composure on the way back and said nothing to Anna about what had just happened. What could I say? How could I explain it to her? I did not have I did not have any answers, just questions.”

gordon-keene-reincarnation-past-life-semkiw-portrait with helmet big imageBefore leaving Sharpsburg, Jeff and Anna visited a gift shop. A magazine, Civil War Quarterly (Special Edition, Antietam), caught Jeff’s eye and he purchased it, along with a souvenir bullet found in the area. At home, Jeff placed the magazine in a drawer that held the family’s phone books, though he did not look at the journal until a year and a half later.

A Psychic Revelation and Jeff Exclaims, “Not Yet!” A Past Life Recollection

In October 1992, Jeff and Anna attended a Halloween party. A clairvoyant named Barbara had been hired to give readings at the party. When it was Jeff’s turn, he asked about his experience at Sunken Road. Barbara told Jeff that he was a soldier then and that he had been shot full of holes at that battlefield. He then had floated above his body, which was lying, apparently lifeless, on the bloodied ground. Barbara then said, “When you were hovering over your body looking down, you were very angry and yelled no!” Jeff relates that there was a pause at that moment. Jeff corrected Barbara, for reasons unknown to him, and exclaimed: “Not yet!”

The next day, Jeff decided it was time to read the souvenir magazine regarding the battle at Antietam that he had purchased in May 1991. Jeff reflected again that it was the first Civil War magazine that he had ever purchased. Jeff opened the journal to a page that had a picture of Sunken Road; the spot were Jeff had experienced the strange flood of emotions. As he scanned the text, he saw a quote: “Not Yet.” The hair stood up on the back of his neck.

Reading on, Jeff learned that “Not Yet” was an order repeatedly given by Colonel John B. Gordon to the Sixth Alabama. Yankee troops were approaching and the men of the Sixth Alabama were anxious to fire. The order to fire by Gordon was not given until the Union troops were less than one hundred yards away. Gordon himself was quoted, regarding the encounter:

Cordon keene past life reincarnation evidence for semkiw guns“A huge volume of musketry spewed out from the sunken road. My rifles flamed and roared in the Federals faces like a blinding blaze of lightning. The effect was appalling.”

Reading of John B. Gordon Brings a Flood of Past Life Emotions

As he read Gordon’s passage, Jeff started to experience the same emotions that he had felt at Sunken Road, and tears came to his eyes. The article then described the wounding of Gordon.

“John B. Gordon of the Sixth Alabama was hit in the left arm, the right shoulder and twice in the right leg before passing out from loss of blood after receiving a wound in the face.”

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases

Jeff himself writes of what happened next. “I turned back to the page with the picture of the Sunken Road, and on the page across from it was another picture. This time a chill ran through me and the hair on the back of my neck stood up again. The picture was of Brigadier General John B. Gordon. The face was not unknown to me, I knew it well, I shave it every morning.” Jeff noted that in the caption Gordon was identified as a general, whereas in the article Gordon was identified as a colonel at the time of his wounding. Gordon apparently had survived the battle at Antietam.

In his book, Jeff describes how he later retrieved memories of his lifetime as John B. Gordon. Jeff also describes habits and traits he has in common with Gordon. These include a preference to stand with arms crossed, similar clothing tastes and scars on his face and body that reflect Gordon’s battle wounds.

Anniversary Phenomena & Synchronistic Events in Reincarnation Cases

Jeff describes two symbolic events that occurred in relation to his reincarnation story. One involved orders written by General Lee on September 9, 1862, which defined the Confederate Army’s plans to invade the North. Nine copies of the orders were made; one copy was lost in transit and recovered by Union soldiers. This information gave the Union Army detailed information regarding the position of Confederate troops and led to the battle of Antietam. In sum, orders written on September 9 resulted in the Civil War conflict in which John B. Gordon was severely wounded and almost died. The symbolic event in contemporary times is Jeff Keene’s birthday is September 9.

Another symbolic event involving the date September 9 occurred on Jeff Keene’s 30th birthday. That day, Jeff was taken to the emergency room to be treated for facial and neck pain. Doctors could find no physical cause for Jeff’s pain syndrome. The location of his pain corresponded to the facial and neck wounds incurred by John B. Gordon at Antietam. Gordon was 30 at the time of his injuries; Jeff’s facial pain occurred on September 9, 1977, his 30th birthday. This incident appears to represent an anniversary phenomenon related to Gordon’s wounding. Keep in mind that Jeff’s emergency room visit occurred in 1977, which was 15 years before Jeff became aware of his connection to Gordon.

Reincarnation: Linguistic Writing Style Stays the Same

John B. Gordon Jeff Keene Reincarnation CaseIn his book, Jeff includes documents that show similarities in writing style. In his later years, General Gordon wrote a book called Reminiscences of the Civil War, which provided material for Jeff’s analysis. Let us compare two passages, one from Gordon’s book, describing the efforts of his men to put out a fire in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania, and one from Keene regarding his fire department’s response to an emergency incident. My observation is that the two documents seem to be written in the same “voice.”

At my request, Miriam Petruck, Ph.D., a linguistics professor at the University of California, Berkeley, conducted a linguistic analysis of these documents, which is provided at the end of this narrative. This analysis confirmed that the two passages have definite structural similarities. This analysis shows that not only do facial features remain consistent from lifetime to lifetime, but the way we write and communicate can remain the same. It appears that we are the same mind from one incarnation to another. Only circumstances seem to change.

Past Life Writing Style: John Gordon (from Reminiscences of the Civil War):

“With great energy my men labored to save the bridge. I called on the citizens of Wrightsville for buckets and pails, but none were to be found. There was no lack of buckets and pails a little while later, when the town was on fire…My men labored as earnestly and bravely to save the town as they did to save the bridge. In the absence of fire-engines or other appliances, the only chance to arrest the progress of the flames was to form my men around the burning district, with the flank resting on the river’s edge, and pass rapidly from hand to hand the pails of water. Thus, and thus only, was the advancing, raging fire met, and at a late hour of the night checked and conquered.”

Past Life Writing Style: Assistant Chief Jeffrey Keene (from his letter to the Westport, CT, Fire Chief):

“With my radio restored, man power and apparatus were brought in and put under the guidance of Acting Lieutenant Christopher Ackley. While setting up a plan of action, Lieutenant Ackley displayed good common sense, knowledge, training and a deep concern for the safety of firefighters under his command. A large amount of gas entered the structure by way of a open window. Though we tried to remove all possible sources of ignition, we were able to remove all but two. The owner informed us that the house contained an oil-fired furnace and a hot water heater. There was no way to shut them off from the inside or outside. Using metering devices, a positive pressure fan and opening and closing windows, the hazard was removed.”

Spirit Being, Spiritual or Soul Guidance in a Reincarnation Case

Please note that it is likely that Jeff Keene did not find the spot at Sunken Road, where John B. Gordon was severely wounded, by chance. Rather, I believe that a spirit being or Jeff’s own soul telepathically guided him first to Sharpsburg, then to Antietam and the Sunken Road. Once there, the powerful flood of emotions, which appear to have been triggered by being at a past life location of great significance, eventually led to Jeff solving his reincarnation case. Jeff’s own soul may have also played a part in his experiencing powerful emotions at Sunken Road. As such, spirit being or Jeff’s own soul was responsible for solving this very important reincarnation case.

Reincarnation of Soul Groups

gordon-keene-reincarnation-past-life-semkiw-wilcoxzaletaAs described in the section Principles of Reincarnation, people reincarnate in groups, based on shared karma, emotional attachments and joint projects. Due to the premise of group incarnations, both Jeff and I suspected that his fellow firefighters in the Westport, Connecticut, Fire Department were likely military acquaintances of John B. Gordon during the Civil War. Subsequently, Jeff established several matches between colleagues in his firehouse and officers that fought with Gordon.

One of these proposed past life pairings, which demonstrates a striking similarity in physical resemblance, involves Confederate General Cadmus Wilcox and Firefighter Wayne R. Zaleta. Images comparing General Wilcox and Mr. Zaleta are provided to the right. Jeff has related that Wilcox and Zaleta have similar personalities.

Past Life Memories

In terms of past-life memories, Jeff describes three kinds. First, through a series of meditations, Jeff was able to visualize or remember details of his life as Gordon. Jeff purposely conducted these meditations before he read Remembrances of the Civil War. He documented these experiences and later was able to confirm many details through Gordon’s book and other sources.

A second type of memory involves spontaneously knowing details of Gordon’s life without having learned the information from any other source. As an example, Jeff toured a visitor’s center where artifacts of a Confederate surrender ceremony were housed. Gordon had participated in this specific ceremony. An image depicted the setting of the ceremony, complete with the flag used by Gordon and his fellow Confederate officers in surrendering.

john gordon jeff keene reincarnation past life semkiw flagJeff knew that the flag in the display was not the flag actually used in the ceremony. Jeff recognized the correct flag from an assortment displayed at the visitor’s center. Upon questioning the staff, he verified the flag in the display was indeed from a later era and that Jeff had identified the authentic flag used in the ceremony.

A third type of memory Jeff has experienced can be called emotional memory, as described in the incident at Sunken Road, in which Jeff had the intense emotional reaction when revisiting the scene of a past-life trauma.

This event can also be seen as an example of guidance from the spiritual world, where Jeff was purposely led to the spot where he was almost killed at Sunken Road in the Civil War. This episode can also be seen as an example of Geographic Guidance and Geographic Memory.

Jeff Keene at his Past Life Grave & How Evidence of Reincarnation can bring Peace

Jeff Keene has reflected that during the Civil War, he was a general in the South’s Confederate Army, yet in this lifetime, he lives in the North. Jeff has noted that an ancestor of his fought with the Union Army and as such, when he was John B. Gordon, he may have gone to battle against his own ancestor from his current Connecticut lifetime.

Reincarnation gives us a different perspective on war, one that lets us see how wasteful war is in terms of lives and resources.

I would like to bring this chapter to a close with a section taken from Jeff Keene’s book, Someone Else’s Yesterday. It has great import for our times, given the amount of conflict we observe on our planet today. Note that the passage comes from someone who was, in a past lifetime, one of the greatest battlefield generals that the United States has ever produced. Reflect on how an understanding of reincarnation mollifies the character of even a battlefield hero. Jeff Keene writes:

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases

“Pause for a moment and contemplate what the world would be like if reincarnation were proven to be a fact of life. How would we then treat others? When dealing with family, friends or acquaintances, we would need to ask ourselves some questions like: Who are these souls? What is their relationship to me? Am I to learn something from them or am I to be their Teacher? The possibilities are endless. We all live in the same house and that house grows smaller everyday. This planet has become a “Global Village.” No longer does it take the written word to tell of events on the other side of the earth. With the flick of a switch we can sit and watch events unfold. Every country affects all others with their finances, pollution problems and petty hostilities. Now more than ever everyone needs to change his way of thinking. No more I, but US. No more Them, but We. We leave a mark on ourselves and those around us, so let us strive to use a gentle touch.”

In the image provided to the right, Jeff Keene poses at the grave of John B. Gordon, his own past life persona.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Reincarnation & Physical Resemblance: Jeff’s case provides one of the most dramatic examples of how facial features can remain the same in reincarnation cases. The similarity in appearance is stunning.

gordon-keene-reincarnation-past-life-semkiw-portrait with helmet large imageReincarnation & Past Life Talent: Linguistic Writing Style can Stay the Same: In comparing narratives written by John B. Gordon and Jeff Keene, we see that the way we communicate, the way our minds work, can remain the same in reincarnation cases. We remain largely the same from lifetime to lifetime, only the circumstances and lessons change from one incarnation to another. The formal linguistic analysis comparing the writing style between Gordon and Keene is provided below.

Spirit Being Involvement in Reincarnation CasesIt is my contention is that it was not by accident that Jeff Keene went to the very spot at Sunken Road where he was almost killed in the Civil War as John B. Gordon. It is very likely that he was intuitively led there by his own soul or by a spirit being so that he would experience emotions related to his past lifetime. This incident is very similar, in particular, to Captain Robert Snow being led to the portrait of the hunchback woman in New Orleans, which allowed Captain Snow to solve his reincarnation case.

From such reincarnation cases, where spirit being involvement is observed, it appears that beings in the spirit world want us to become aware of our past lives.

Soul Groups and Renewal of Relationships through Reincarnation: Jeff has identified several members of his firehouse who he believes fought with him in the Civil War. One example involves Wayne Zaleta, who Jeff believes is the reincarnation of Cadmus Wilcox. An image comparison of Wilcox | Zaleta is provided above.

Change in Political Affiliation: Jeff noted that in contemporary times, he was born in the North of the United States and he describes himself as a Connecticut Yankee. As John B. Gordon, he was a Southerner who fought on the Confederate side in the Civil War. Jeff has mused that his ancestors in his contemporary lifetime could have even fought against him in the Civil War.

As such, this is another case which demonstrates that national and political affiliations can change from one incarnation to another, which shows that war is futile in the long run.

Summary of Reincarnation Linguistic Analysis Comparing Letters written by Gordon and Keene

Performed by Miriam Petruck, Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley

John B. Gordon Jeff Keene Reincarnation Case1. Close in average number of words per sentence: Gordon-21; Keene-18

2. Use of compound sentences:

Gordon: “the only chance to arrest the progress of flames was to form my men around the burning district, with the flank resting on the river’s edge, and pass rapidly from hand to hand the pails of water.”

Keene: “While setting up a plan of action, Lieutenant Ackley displayed good common sense, knowledge, training and a deep concern for the safety of firefighters under his command.”

3. Use of preposed clauses in complex sentences:
Gordon: “In the absence of fire engines”

Keene: “While setting up a plan of action.”

4. Use of existential-there sentences with negation:

Gordon: :There was no lack of buckets.”

Keene: “There was no way to shut them off.”

5. Adverbial clauses at beginning of sentence:

Gordon: “With great energy,” “In the absence of fire-engines”

Keene: “With my radio restored.”

6. Most of text is in active voice except at the end. In both passages, paragraphs end in passive voice, as if the success came about without the intervention of those involved. Excitement is achieved by altering expected word order, separating two parts of the verb.

Gordon: “was the advancing, raging fire met, and at a late hour of the night checked and conquered.”

Keene: “Using metering devices . . . the hazard was removed.”

Note from Dr. Petruck:

Given the similarities already noted, we must, nevertheless, include a disclaimer about authorship. More specifically, because the texts are very small and the analysis is (necessarily) limited to major structural features, any claim about authorship is, at best, tentative. Further analysis is required to make a stronger claim in this regard.

Larger sample texts that have not been preselected would facilitate a variety of frequency tests on different subsets of words. In addition, it would be instructive to examine such text to answer other questions about the substylistic features of the texts. For example, do they use distinctive vocabularies? Do the texts employ rare collocations (combinations) of common words? Is there any irregular spelling or hyphenation of words, or more generally, punctuation of sentences?

Past Life Regression Story of Carroll Beckwith | Robert Snow

A regression of a retired Captain to prove the veracity of memories. The journey into the past is documented in a book, Looking for Carroll Beckwith, a totally honest, humorous and candid recollection of his regression journey.

Captain Robert Snow Goes to for a Past Life Regression on a Dare

image description

Robert Snow is a retired Captain of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, who in his career was in charge of the department of the Homicide and Robbery and the department of Organized Crime. He has written numerous books on police work. In addition, Captain Snow has written a book called Looking for Carroll Beckwith, Portrait of a Past Life Detective, which documents his reincarnation case in detail. A summary is provided below.

Bob’s story begins at a party, where a police psychologist, who had conducted past life regressions as a hobby, was describing how she would guide clients into a relaxed state so that past life memories could emerge. Captain Snow thought that these so-called memories must be fabricated, that they were fantasies, and he told this to the regression therapist.

Incensed, the psychologist dared Captain Snow to have a past life regression himself. Snow said, “Sure, I’ll do it,” though he really had no intention of following through.

The regression therapist, though, kept hounding Snow and even accused him of being “scared.” That did it and reluctantly, Captain Snow got a referral for a different regression therapist and scheduled an appointment. He decided to have the regression only so it wouldn’t look like he had “welshed on the dare.” Snow did not believe in reincarnation and did not expect to have a meaningful experience during the session.

A delightful aspect of Bob’s book is the high level of skepticism and a mischievous sense of humor that infuses the narrative. Let us share in Captain Snow’s experiences through the following passages from Looking for Carroll Beckwith. We start with the regression therapist, Dr. Mariellen Griffith, guiding the regression. Dr. Griffith begins by instructing Snow to imagine that he is relaxing comfortably in his den at home. The narrative from Captain Snow’s book follows:

“’Now, picture your higher self coming into the room to greet you,’ Dr Griffith said.

beckwith%20snow%20reincarnation%20past%20life%20semkiw%20wrI did that, too, though as I sat on the couch with my eyes closed, I couldn’t help but wonder what the hell I was doing there, particularly with she asked me what my higher self was wearing. How the hell would I know? This was her daydream. But I decided to give it a try.

‘White,’ I answered, ‘A long white gown. Wasn’t that what all spirits wore?’

‘Your higher self is standing there and asking if you’re ready to go on a trip. It is telling you that it will guide you and protect you on your trip.’

‘Oh Lord, I thought, as I tried to maintain a facial expression of seriousness, I can’t believe I’m doing this.'” (1)

Robert Snow’s Unexpected Past Life Memories are More Real than Waking Consciousness

Eventually and much to his shock, Captain Snow experienced powerful and very clear past-life memories during the regression. Captain Snow has related that his perception of the past-life events were more clear than waking consciousness. He recalled several different lifetimes, but the one that was most prominent was as a portrait painter in what seemed to be the 19th century. Captain Snow remembered 30 specific details regarding this lifetime as an artist.

One very clear memory involved him painting a portrait of a hunchback woman. Captain Snow vividly remembered the experience, of the paint strokes that were used to create that painting, and even of his questioning of why someone with a pronounced deformity would want a portrait. A summary of the most specific regression memories is provided below:Reincarnation Case of Robert Snow & The Hunchback Woman

hunchback snow beckwith reincarnation past life semkiw s1. He painted a portrait of a hunchbacked woman

2. He painted portraits to make money but hated painting portrait

3. He used the name “Jack”

4. He used a walking stick

6. His wife could not have children

7. They were desperate for money and he argued with his wife about money

8. Despite their problems with money and inability to have children, their marriage was happy

10. He once stayed at an estate with large gardens

11. A female relative died of a blood clot

12. He died in a large city with tall buildings in the fall of the year 1917

The regression had such a profound effect on Captain Snow that he became obsessed with trying to determine whether it was authentic. Captain Snow himself still did not believe in reincarnation and operated under the assumption that he had learned about the portrait painter in the past, through a book, in school or at a museum, and that the regression experience represented a forgotten memory that had surfaced.

Police Captain Robert Snow Investigates a Past Lifetime as the Painter of the Hunchback Woman Portrait

Snow investigated the regression experience as he would a police case. He methodically examined art books, visited art galleries and contacted art dealers, searching for the portrait of the hunchback woman he had seen in the regression, or to find some other clue. Captain Snow was unable, though, to identify any historical artist consistent with the regression persona.

Snow is an experienced researcher, having written six books on police management and other police topics. He is also highly intelligent; he scored straight A’s in college and earned a full scholarship for a doctorate program in psychology. Nonetheless, after a year of trying to find the portrait of the hunchback woman, he came to a dead-end. He concluded that it was unlikely that he would ever be able to identify the artist seen during his regression.

Spirit Being or Soul Guidance: Captain Robert Snow Finds the Hunchback Woman in New Orleans

beckwith snow reincarnation past life semkiw noAt that point in time, Captain Snow’s wife, Melanie, suggested that they take a vacation trip to New Orleans to celebrate their anniversary. Bob agreed.

On the last day of their trip, Bob wandered into an art gallery in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Here, he had another profound experience. This incident demonstrates how people can be guided, apparently by spiritual sources, in discovering past lives. In the gallery which Captain Snow had walked into by apparent “chance,” he discovered the portrait of the hunchbacked woman he had seen in his regression. Captain Snow describes the scene:

“Whirling around, I stared open-mouthed at the portrait, reliving an experience I’d had once when I grabbed onto a live wire without knowing it, the current freezing me in my tracks as huge voltage surged up and down my arms and legs . . .

hunchback snow beckwith reincarnation past life semkiw sFor the next several minutes, I didn’t move from in front of the portrait, but instead continued closing my eyes to see again and again the scene of me painting this very portrait in my studio, and then opening my eyes to see the actual finished portrait. The situation began to feel surreal, more like a very vivid dream that you wake up sweating from, a dream that you have to keep telling yourself over and over again was only a dream. It wasn’t real.

Bob wonders if He has had a Stroke

Finally, even though I knew with absolute certainty that this was the same painting I had seen while under hypnosis, I convinced myself that stumbling onto it by accident like this was simply too bizarre to be true. I toyed with the idea for a few moments that perhaps I’d had some kind of stroke and just thought I stood in front of this portrait, when in actuality I was in a hospital bed somewhere or maybe even in a nursing home.

After giving this possibility a few moments’ consideration, I realized how very desperate I had become to find a rational answer for what was happening. But desperate or not, things like this just didn’t happen in real life. What were the chances, after all the months of systematic searching, that I would just happen onto the painting like this? What were the chances that Melanie would just happen to want to go to New Orleans, and that we would just happen to visit this gallery, just when they happened to have this painting for sale? ..

During my 30 years as a police officer, I have always searched for the truth. Sometimes the truth didn’t turn out to be what I expected, but still, the truth was what I had always searched for. And now, here I was seeming to be facing the truth I had been looking for, but at the same time trying to deny it, trying to find any way to deny the truth of what I had found. . . . Supernatural things didn’t happen to real people. Maybe they did in the movies, but not in real life.” (2)

From the portrait, Snow learned that the painter’s name was J. Carroll Beckwith. Snow’s rational side then took over again. He reasoned that he may still have seen this portrait of the hunchback woman at a museum or at an exhibit. He asked the gallery worker if this was possible. Snow describes the response.

Beckwith Snow diary reincarnation past life“No,” the man said giving his head a slight shake, “you haven’t seen this work before. This portrait has been in private hands for years. And besides, let me be honest with you, I don’t think there has been an exhibition of Beckwith’s work in the last 75 years. He wasn’t that famous.” (3)

Spirit Being or Soul Guidance

Please note that it is likely that Captain Snow did not find the portrait of the hunchback woman by chance or accident. Rather, I believe that a spirit being or Bob Snow’s own soul sent a telepathic message to his wife, Melanie, to go to New Orleans. Similarly, once in New Orleans, I posit that a spirit being or Bob’s own soul telepathically led him to the art gallery so that he would find the portrait of the hunchback woman, which, as described below, was the key to solving his reincarnation case. As such, a spirit being or Bob’s own soul was responsible for making this past life identification.

Captain Snow Finds his Past Life Portrait Painter’s Diary

Snow later found that Beckwith’s last exhibition was in 1911, well before Snow was even born. Snow also found that though Beckwith wasn’t a famous artist, he was a good administrator, as is Bob. Beckwith became the President of the National Academy of Design, in New York. The Academy had kept Beckwith’s diaries, as well as an unpublished autobiography.

From Beckwith’s diary and autobiography, Snow was eventually able to validate all thirty of the specific memories from his regression, including the twelve specific items listed above.

Though initially reluctant to accept reincarnation as the basis for his regression experience, Captain Snow finally came to the conclusion that he had been Carroll Beckwith, who had indeed used the name Jack, in a prior lifetime. He has stated that he has proven reincarnation and that if this were a police case, the evidence he compiled would stand up in court and that no plea-bargaining would be entertained.

Captain Snow Doesn’t Realize there is a Past Life Physical Resemblance

Interestingly, Captain Snow was not aware of a physical resemblance that exists between himself and Carroll Beckwith. When I met first Captain Snow at a meeting of the International Association for Regression Research and Therapies (IARRT) in September 2000, I offered to take his picture and compare it with Beckwith’s. I knew from experience that these comparisons are best done by lining up images side by side in the same pose.

Robert Snow past life regression reincarnatoin caseIn the image comparison, Beckwith is on the left side and Captain Snow is on the right side. Though Captain Snow is a bit older and heavier in the photograph than Beckwith was at the time of the portrait, facial architecture is very similar between the two. Both even chose to maintain a similar mustache.

Captain Snow’s case demonstrates a characteristic phenomenon that occurs when one becomes concretely aware of a specific past lifetime. The past-life information often triggers a traumatic reaction in a person, followed by a period of integration. When one faces the reality of reincarnation, a reevaluation of how one views the world is required.

Over a lifetime, we all develop a unique way of understanding the world. That belief system may involve a spiritual aspect to life, or an atheistic view may be held. We usually come to our philosophical understanding of the world in our twenties and we generally are resistant to changing our point of view.

Evidence of Reincarnation can be Disturbing

Regardless of what one’s belief system is, concrete evidence of reincarnation demands an alteration of one’s belief system. Even if one already believes in reincarnation, the shift from a belief in past lives to becoming aware of objective evidence of reincarnation can be a shock.

Recall that Captain Snow did not believe in reincarnation at the time of his regression and that following his past-life experience, he tried to find a logical explanation for his memories. Even after stumbling into the portrait of the hunchback woman in the art gallery in New Orleans, Captain Snow still explored the possibility that Beckwith’s work had been displayed in a museum and that at some point in his lifetime he had viewed it.

Snow was falling back on the theory that his regression experience represented repressed memories from his current lifetime. Let us revisit Captain Snow’s reaction when the gallery salesman in New Orleans told him that he could not have previously seen the portrait of the hunchback in a museum or exhibit. Snow explains:

“As the gallery worker’s answer dashed my seemingly logical explanation for what had happened, the vertigo returned. My whole belief system was not only teetering. It was falling. Everything around me had such a surrealistic feeling to it that I could have been in a Kafka novel. And so I simply stood there open-mouthed, feeling numb and detached from reality.”

Captain Snow’s Knee Shakes when He visits his Own Past Life Grave

In the image provided to the right, Robert Snow visits the grave of Carroll Beckwith, that is, Snow is visiting his own grave from a past lifetime. Snow writes in his book that at Beckwith’s grave, his left knee started to shake uncontrollably and he became drenched in sweat, much like when he was a rookie cop in a life threatening situation. Snow has mused that in the line of duty, he has been shot at and suspects have tried to stab him, but nothing has unnerved him as much as discovering a past lifetime.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Physical Resemblance: Even though Robert Snow at first didn’t realize there was a resemblance between him and Beckwith, a resemblance does exist.

Spirit Being or Soul Guidance: The breakthrough in validating this reincarnation case came when Captain Snow found the portrait of the hunchback woman in New Orleans. It is my contention that this did not happen by coincidence but rather, that Bob was lead to the painting through guidance by spirit beings.

It is likely that a spirit being or Robert Snow’s own soul telepathically inserted the thought into his wife’s mind that they should visit New Orleans for their anniversary. Once in New Orleans, Bob was intuitively guided to the art gallery where he found the portrait of the hunchback woman.

From the portrait, he learned the name of the artist, Carroll Beckwith, and he then was able to find Beckwith’s diary, which allowed him to validate his past lifetime as Beckwith. Many reincarnation cases feature such apparent guidance by spirit beings.

Postscript: The depictions of the hunchback provided in the above article are not from the painting of the hunchback woman done by Carroll Beckwith, which was bought by an anonymous individual. If you are the owner of the Beckwith painting of the hunchback woman and would be kind enough to allow an image of the painting to be posted on the ReincarnationResearch.com web site, please contact Walter Semkiw, MD at: walter@ReincarnationResearch.com

Reincarnation Case of Mithilesh Singh | Rajani Singh Past Life Case Involving Suicide, Same Family Incarnation, Reincarnation Birthmarks & Physical Resemblance

A new life reclaimed after a death by suicide of Mithilesh Singh who reincarnated in the same family as Rajani observed to exhibit the same behavior as Mithilesh. A noticeable physical resemblance and demonstrations of similar phobias between the two were also noted.

The Life of Mithilesh Singh

5 Reincarnation Suicide Case Taj MahalMithilesh Singh was born in Agra, India, the home of the Taj Mahal. in the year 1975. Her mother’s name was Rajwati Devi Singh and her father, who was employed in a government job, was Navratan Singh. Mithilesh had 3 siblings, including a younger sister, Meena, who Mithilesh was very close to. Mithilesh was also very fond of a maternal aunt, whose name was Ganga Bai.

Of the family’s children, Mithilesh was the only one who did not do well at school. To help her pass her high school final examinations, her parents sent her to live with a family member, Virender Singh, who was an older cousin to Mithilesh living in Bhalaul, India. The plan was that a family member in Bhalaul, who worked as a teacher at a local college, would serve as a tutor for Mithilesh. Virender was married to a woman name Bimla. Virender’s mother, Shakuntala, who had a very domineering personality, was also in the household.

Mithilesh Falls in Love with a Boy of a Lower Caste

Mithilesh was not happy living with Virender’s family in Bhalaul. She was afraid of Shakuntala and felt sorry for Bimla, who had to put up with her difficult mother-in-law. Mithilesh became very fond of Bimla.

Ironically, Mithilesh herself was known to be very headstrong and stubborn. A serious problem arose when Mithilesh became romantically involved with a boy in Bhalaul, who her family disapproved of due to his being in a lower caste. Mithilesh became depressed about her situation.

Mithilesh Commits Suicide

5 Reincarnation Suicide Case A Blazing FireRajwati Devi, Mithilesh’s mother, and, Ganga Bai, her aunt, came to visit her in Bhalaul in early October 1991. After the three returned from a ride in a pony cart, Mithilesh poured kerosene on her head and ignited the fluid, setting herself on fire. Mithilesh then ran to Bimla for assistance. Bimla was pregnant at the time and was terrified at the sight of Mithilesh running at her ablaze. Bimla, protecting herself, pushed Mithilesh away.

The family eventually extinguished the flames and took Mithilesh to the nearest health center, where she died. Her burns were most extensive on her head, but almost her entire body was affected, with only her waist and feet being spared. The date of Mithilesh’s death was October 6, 1991. She was 16 years old when she died.

Spiritual Communication: Rajwati Devi has a Reincarnation Announcing Dream

Within a month of Mithilesh’s suicide, her mother, Rajwati Devi, had a dream that Mithilesh would be returning to their family. On November 16, 1991, about 5 weeks after Mithilesh’s death, Bimla Singh delivered a baby girl, who Virender and Bimla, named Rajani.

Reincarnation Birthmarks of Rajani Singh

A few days after Rajani was born, her mother and paternal grandmother noticed red marks on her head. Within a month of being born, they noticed red marks on the rest of Rajani’s body, though the marks on her head were most prominent. At this point Rajwati Devi Singh, the mother of Mithilesh, came to see Rajani. Given the red marks on the body and her dream that Mithilesh would be returning to their family, Rajwati Devi suspected that Rajani was the reincarnation of Mithilesh.

When she learned to talk, Rajani asked to see Meena, the younger sister of Mithilesh. In contrast, she was instinctively afraid of Shakuntala, as was Mithilesh.

Past Life Memories: Rajani Insists She is Mithilesh & Reclaims her Past Life Parents

When Rajani was 4 years old, in November 1995, she was taken to the home of Navratan and Rajwati Devi Singh. Rajani demonstrated familiarity with the place and with Mithilesh’s family members. In particular, Rajani showed affection for Ganga Bai, Mithilesh’s favorite aunt.

Rajani at times insisted that she be called Mithilesh and she stated that her father was Navratan and that her mother was Rajwati Devi. She addressed the couple, who were the parents of Mithilesh, as “papa” and “mummy.”

Past Life Physical Resemblance & Similar Personality Traits

It was noted that there was a similarity in facial features between Mithilesh and Rajani, including large eyes. Personality traits were also consistent, as Rajani was stubborn and would get upset if she did not get her way, much like Mithilesh.

Dr. Pasricha studied this case from December 1992 through December 1995, directly observing the birthmarks Rajani had, including an area on the right side of her head which was without hair and lighter in color that the rest of her skin. Dr. Pasricha also noted red areas present on Rajani’s shoulders and back. The other red marks on Rajani’s body that were present just after she was born had faded by 1995.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Parallel Lives or Split ReincarnationPhysical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases: It was noted that Mishilesh and Rajani had similar facial features, including large eyes. Though physical resemblance is noted in reincarnation cases, since Rajana reincarnated to relatives of Mishilesh, genetic factors may also have contributed to their similarity in appearance.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: Mishilesh was fond of her relative Bimla Singh and reincarnated as Bimla’s daughter, Rajani, indicating that the soul can plan incarnations.

Reincarnation Birthmarks: Shortly after her birth, Rajani demonstrated birthmarks that appear to reflect burn scars incurred on the body of Mishilesh.

Split Incarnation: Rajani was born only 5 weeks after Mishilesh died. If the soul is involved in the developed of the fetus, then the soul of Mishilesh also inhabited Rajani as a fetus for about 8 months of her gestation. I do believe that the soul is involved in the development of the fetus, as similarity in physical appearance is observed in reincarnation cases, which would occur through the influence of the soul. The way the soul can shape physical appearance is discussed in the section: Principles of Reincarnation

Reincarnation and Suicide: Mishilesh committed suicide, but reincarnated into the same family, indicating that suicide does not end the progression of the soul. It is likely that Mishilesh incurred karma from the grief she caused others due to her suicide, which will need to be worked out in subsequent incarnations. In addition, Rajani will need to face similar situations as Mishilesh did, but hopefully Rajani will not act out in the same way. For a more detailed discussion on implications of suicide, please go to: Suicide Reincarnation Case of Ruprecht Schultz

Why would the soul of Mishilesh inhabit a second body while Mishilesh was still alive? It is possible that Mishilesh’s soul anticipated the problems associated with her personality and the possibility that her life would be short. As such, Mishilesh’s soul took the opportunity to have another incarnation with Bimla as the mother, who Mishilesh was fond of.

Soul Plan, Same Family Reincarnation & Spirit Being Involvement in the Past Life Story of Kalevi Paasio | Paavo Sorsa

A same family reincarnation of a murdered son Kalevi Paasio, as his younger brother but from another father Paavo forming a closer relationship with his mother in the subsequent lifetime. Paavo manifested protective tendencies towards his mother maybe because of his inability to protect her in his previous lifetime.

Risto Murders his Son, Kalevi

IISISReincarnationResearchSpousalAbuseCKalevi Paasio was born on December 11, 1987, in Ylojarvi, Finland, near Tampere. His mother was named Sylvi and his father, who was called Risto, had a violent temperament. Sylvi had to call the police, at times, when Risto beat her.

Due to the physical abuse, Sylvi separated from Risto, though he retained rights to their son, Kalevi. When Risto took possession of Kalevi for a weekend, he killed his son. Risto confessed that he went into a rage, attacked his son in several ways and in the end, struck his son on the head four times with a plank of wood. The murder occurred on May 11, 1990. Risto was arrested, convicted and then committed suicide in prison.

Kalevi Appears as a Spirit Being

A few months after Kalevi’s murder, his mother, Sylvi had a dream which was so real that she didn’t know if it was a dream or reality. She had never had a dream that was so real before.

IISISReincarnationResearchTunnelofLight72CIn her dream, Sylvi heard the doorbell ring. When she opened the door, Kalevi and Risto were there. Risto left but Kalevi came into the house and sat on a window sill. Ian Stevenson writes:

“Sylvi tried to touch him and found that her hand went through him.” (1)

At the time, Sylvi was living with a man named Veikko Sorsa. They lived in a different village from when Sylvi was married to Risto. Not long after Sylvi’s dream of Kalevi, she became pregnant. She and Veikko married afterwards and their son, Paavo, was born a little more than 13 months after Kalevi had been killed.

Paavo Wants to Go to his Past Life Home

When Paavo was about 3 years old, he was playing with his sled outside his home. When called to come inside, he refused to come into the house. Paavo said this was not his house and that he wanted to go to “his own home.” (2)

This is reminiscent of the case of Anne Frank | Barbro Karlen, in which Barbro also told her parents that she had a different home and that her real parents would soon come and get her.

Paavo Remembers the Past Life Beatings of his Mother and Vows to Protect Her

IISISReincarnationResearchSpousalAbuseCOnce, Paavo found a photo that police had taken of Sylvi after Risto had beaten her. In seeing this photo, Paavo began crying violently and said to Sylvi:

“Nobody will be allowed to beat you.” (3)

Ian Stevenson made the point that the bruises that Svyli had in the picture could have been due to a fall or other accident. Stevenson was impressed that Paavo seemed to know that the bruises came from physical abuse.

Ian Stevenson also noted that Paavo was unusually attached to Sylvi. He was much more attached to Sylvi and wanted to spend more time with her than his step siblings.

Paavo Claims Photos of Kalevi are of Him

When Paavo saw photos of Kalevi, he claimed that they were pictures of him. Stevenson noted that Kalevi was perplexed that these were photographs of another child.

Reincarnation & Similarities in Physical Appearance

There was a marked resemblance between Paavo and Kalevi, which made people think that the two boys had the same father. Of course, Paavo’s father was Risto, while Kalevi’s father was Veikko.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Soul Plan for a Future Lifetime and Same Family Reincarnation: The soul of Kalevi was able to plan an incarnation from the spirit world in which he was born to his past life mother. It appears that this second lifetime was driven by Kalevi’s attachment to his mother, Sylvi, and his desire to protect her.

Spirit Being Involvement: Sylvi had an announcing dream, which was so real she didn’t know if it was a dream or not. In this dream, Kalevi came to her and sat on her window sill. Shortly thereafter, Sylvi became pregnant with Paavo, who appears to be the reincarnation of Kalevi. If this is true, then Kalevi was able to communicate with his mother from the spirit world.

Physical Resemblance: It was noted that Paavo looked so much like Kalevi that people thought they had the same father. Kalevi and Paavo had different fathers, but the same mother, so genetic factors could still play a factor in explaining their physical resemblance.

Past life Story of Eeva-Maija Kaartinen | Maria-Liisa Kaartinen: Soul Plan, Reincarnation & Talent, Split Incarnation or Parallel Lives

A girl Eeva-Maija Kaartinen who died at an early age when her mother is pregnant with another baby reincarnated in the baby that her mother was carrying when she died, and was named Marja-Liisa. A reincarnation story with references clearly indicating a renewed sustained lifetime of a former life that was curtailed at a very young age.

After Her Mother Promises Her a Toy Carriage, A Young Flapper Dies at the age of Five

Eeva-Maija Kaartinen was born on August 17, 1923 in Oulu, Finland. Eva had three older brothers, who she differed from in several ways. Her brothers and her parents liked to eat meat and drink sour milk. In contrast, Eeva-Maija refused to eat meat or drink sour milk. Rather, she preferred fish and fresh milk.

IISISReincarnationResearchCharlestonR

Eeva-Maija was reluctant to eat in general and times she would hide her food so that she didn’t have to eat it. Salli Kaartinen, her mother, would coach her to take nourishment by saying, “Eat, bite and swallow.” (1)

Eeva-Maija loved to dance and almost danced before she could walk. She learned to do the Charleston, a dance that was popular in the 1920’s.

Just after she was 5 years old, Eeva-Maija came down with a fatal case of influenza. Just before Eeva-Marja died, Salli, her mother, promised to buy her a toy baby carriage. Eeva-Maija passed on November 24, 1928.

Marja-Liisa Says She is the Reincarnation of Eeva-Maija, Won’t Eat,& Repeats Past Life Phrase, “Eat, Bite and Swallow”

Salli was 3 months pregnant when Eeva-Maija died. Six months later, on Mary 22, 1929, Marja-Liisa Kaartinen was born.

When Marja-Liisa learned to speak, she repeatedly asked to be called Eeva-Maija. At the age of 2, when she found photographs of Eeva-Maija, she would take the photos to people and say: “These are of me.” (2)

Marja-Liisa also was resistant to eating and at the age of 2, she said to her mother, Salli: “Why don’t you tell me what you said to Eeva-Jaija: “Eat, bite and swallow.” (3)

No one had told Marja-Lissa about Salli’s coaching of Eeva-Jaija and as such, it was an apparent memory from a past lifetime. Salli testified that family members had purposely decided not to talk about Eeva-Maija, after her death, in an effort to ease their grief.

Past Life Memories: Marja-Liisa Remembers Helim and Picks Out Past Life Toys

IISISReincarnationResearchToyBoxWhen Marja-Liisa was 3 years old, the family went to their summer cabin in Sotkomo, Finland. When they arrived there, Marja-Liisa said: “Where is Helim?” (4)

Helim was the family’s servant who had left their employment over a year before Marja-Liisa was born. Again, no one had told her about Helim and as such, her mother perceived this to be a memory from Marja-Liisa’s past lifetime as Eeva-Maija.

At their Sotkomo summer cabin, there was a trunk that stored the children’s toys. Upon their arrival at Sotkoma, Marja-Liisa spontaneously went to this trunk and then proceeded to pick out all of Eeva-Maija’s toys, leaving the toys of the other children in the trunk.

She picked out Eeva-Maija’s balls and left the balls that belonged to her brothers alone. One of her brothers had a doll in the trunk. She picked out the doll that belonged to Eeva-Maija and left the doll that belonged to her brother in the trunk.

Past Life Memories of Peter Pan, a Coat and the Promise of a Toy Carriage

IISISReincarnationResearchBabyCarriageAt the age of 4, Marja-Liisa asked her mother: “Where were we when Peter Pan flew” (5)

Salli and Eeva-Maija had seen the movie, Peter Pan, but Marja-Liisa had not.

Salli, while in the family’s kitchen, asked a servant to get a coat that had belonged to Eeva-Marija from the attic. Marja-Liisa was in her bedroom at the time and she did not hear this conversation. When the servant came downstairs from the attic, Marja-Liisa ran to him and grabbed the coat, saying: “My coat, my coat.” (6)

At about the age of five, Marja-Liisa asked Salli for the baby carriage that she had promised to her. This promise, of course, was made to Eeva-Maija, not Marja-Liisa.

Past Life Traits: Eeva-Marija and Marja-Liisa Don’t Eat Meat

IISISReincarnationResearchCharlestonMarja-Liisa resisted eating and she would hide food, like Eeva-Marija. She also refused to eat meat or sour milk. Instead, she preferred fish and fresh milk, like Eeva-Marija. All the other family members ate meat and sour milk; Eeva-Marija and Marja-Liisa were the only exceptions.

Marja-Liisa preferred to wear Eeva-Marija’s clothes and to play with her toys, rather than wear new clothes or play with toys that were bought for her.

Reincarnation & Past Life Talent: Spontaneous Charleston

Marja-Liisa loved music and began dancing almost before she could walk, as did Eeva-Marija. Even more impressive, Marija-Liisa, before the age of 3, spontaneously knew how to dance the Charleston.

Eeva-Marija was taught to do the Charleston, while Marija-Lissa was not. As such, Marija-Lissa was bringing a learned talent from her prior incarnation as Eeva-Marija into contemporary times.

Past Life Death Memories

IISISReincarnationResearchBuriedAliveWhen Marja-Liisa was about 5 years of age, the same age at which Eeva-Marija had died, Marja-Liisa experienced a series of nightmares of being buried or of seeing dead bodies. These experiences may have been due to the anniversary of Eeva-Marija’s death.

Anniversary phenomenon have been observed in reincarnation cases, such as in the case of John B. Gordon | Jeff Keene, who experienced jaw pain on his thirtieth birthday, the same age that John B. Gordon was shot in the jaw during the American Civil War.

Reincarnation & Physical Appearance

According to Salli, the girls’ mother, Marja-Liisa and Eeva-Marija looked the same. Salli stated that the two girls: “resembled each other considerably in physical appearance.” (7) The only difference was that Eeva-Maija was blonde while Maria-Liisa was a brunette.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Soul Plan & Same Family Reincarnation: Eeva-Marija reincarnated into the same family that she belonged to before, as Marja-Liisa. This is supported by Marja-Liisa’s insistence of being called Eeva-Marija, even though the family purposely decided not to talk about Eeva-Marija to ease their grief.

In addition, Marja-Liisa recognized the clothes and toys of Eeva-Marija and claimed them as hers. She insisted that photos of Eeva-Marija were really images of herself. She demonstrated the same personality trait of being resistant to being fed. She also remembered the past life phrase that Salli used to entice Eeva-Maija into eating, which was: “Eat, bite and swallow.” (8)

Marja-Liisa also remembered the servant, Helim, who was employed by the family when Eeva-Marija was alive, but who had left a year before Marja-Liisa was born.

Reincarnation & Talent from a Past Lifetime: Marja-Lissa spontaneously knew how to dance the Charleston, though she was never taught to do this dance. Eeva-Marija was taught the Charleston, which she enjoyed dancing.

Reincarnation & Physical Resemblance: Salli, the girls’ mother, noted that Eeva-Marija and Marja-Lissa had the same physical appearance, except for hair color. Of course, since this is a same family reincarnation case, similar physical resemblance could be attributed to genetic factors.

Split Incarnation or Parallel Lives: Marja-Lissa was born 6 months after Eeva-Marija died. As such, if it is assumed that the soul is involved in the development of the fetus, then the soul of these two girls inhabited the physical bodies of Eeva-Marija and Marja-Lissa at the same time for a period of 6 months.

Soul Planning from Spirit Realm with Gender Change in a Reincarnation Case: Past Life Story of L. Ennuyer | N. Jegou

A mother’s questions on her son’s accident were finally answered when her son reincarnated as her granddaughter. Lionel Ennuyer reincarnated as Nadege and tells how he died a in a motorcycle accident.

Lionel Ennuyer Dies a in a Motorcycle Accident

IISISReincarnationResearchMotorCycleCrashLionel Ennuyer was born on August 22, 1953 in a suburb of Paris, France. Lionel’s mother was Yvonne Ennuyer and his sister was named Vivian. Lionel was a fun-loving boy who was very friendly, social and generous. He was so generous that he had few possessions, as he gave his things to others. He loved sports and participated in skating, skiing, tennis, swimming, shooting and cycling. His nick name was Yoyo.

As a young man, Lionel bought a motorcycle. On December, 23 1973, when he was 20 years of age, he went for motorcycle ride with friends following him in a car. He lost control of his bike and crashed into a roadside bench, striking his head and dying on the scene.

His mother, Yvonne, suspected that Lionel’s friends in the automobile had something to do with the crash, perhaps following Lionel too closely and causing the accident. None of his friends in the car, though, would admit to this.

Reincarnation, Soul Planning and Gender Change: Lionel Reincarnates as His Sister’s Daughter & Remembers the Motorcycle Crash

IISISYoungParisienneonscooterNadege was born on December 30, 1974, almost exactly one year after Lionel had died. Nadege’s parents were Patrick and Vivian Jegou; Vivian was Lionel’s sister. Nadege was given the nickname Nana by her parents.

As child, Nadege spontaneously started to speak of Lionel’s motorcycle accident as if it happened to her. She said that her friend, who was driving the automobile behind her, struck the rear of her motorcycle, which made her lose control and crash into a bench. Nadege would recount the events of the crash repetitively and she seemed to be reliving the event.

When Nadege was 3 years old, Yvonne, her grandmother and the mother of Lionel and Vivian, showed Nadege a picture of Lionel. Yvonne said that the picture was of Yoyo, which was Lionel’s pet name. Nadege disagreed and insisted that it was a picture of her. Nadege used her own pet name, Nana, stating:

“No, it is Nana.” (1)

When she was shown a picture of Lionel on another occasion, Nadege similarly insisted that it was really a picture of her.

Nadege Remembers Past Life Carambars, Licorice Rolls and Colors of Lionel’s Shirt

When Nadege was 4 years old, she had another spontaneous memory of her life as Lionel. Unexpectedly, Nadege said to Yvonne, her grandmother:

“When I was Lionel I used to buy carambars.” (2)

IISISReincarnationEvidenceLiquoriceWheelsNadege then realized that she didn’t know what carambars were. She then asked Yvonne,

“What are carambars?” (3)

Yvonne explained that the word referred to a caramel candy. Lionel was very fond of carembars, but Yvonne had never bought any for Nadege. After that explanation, Nadege said:

“I also used to buy some black things with white candy inside for my mama.” (4)

Yvonne confirmed that this statement was true. Yvonne loved licorice rolls, which were black tubes with white candy inside. Lionel did indeed by these licorice rolls for her.

When Nadege was 5 years old, Yvonne showed her a black and white photo of Lionel as an infant. Nadege looked at the picture and said:

“You know, when I was Yoyo, I wore this white blouse with blue embroidery.” (5)

Since it was a black and white photo, the color of the embroidery was not evident, yet Nadege was correct about the color of the embroidery being blue. This piece of clothing had long disappeared and Yvonne was sure that she never discussed the shirt or its colors with Nadege.

A Tortoise Face and Other Behaviors from a Past Lifetime

There were other events in Lionel’s life that Nadege remembered, which she insisted happened to her, not Lionel. She also demonstrated behaviors that were typical of Lionel.

IISISReincarnationResearchTortoiseLionel liked to make a certain funny face, in which he would push his lower lip far forward. He called this is “tortoise face.” When she was two years old, Nadege made this exact same face, though no one had told her about Lionel’s tortoise face, nor had Nadege ever seen a photo of the Lionel making the face. Lionel and Nadege made the face often.

When Lionel signed letters, he always drew a pipe with smoke curling out of it. When Yvonne once showed Nadege a sample of this pipe drawing, she adopted the habit herself, drawing the pipe in the same way next to her signature.

Like Lionel, Nadege was a very generous person and she gave her things away to others, just as Lionel had done. She also loved sports, like Lionel, especially skating, swimming and diving. At the age of 3 ½, Nadege fearlessly would dive into a pool from a height of 10 feet or 3 meters, as if she had done so before.

Reincarnation & Physical Resemblance or Similar Appearance

Yvonne, Lionel’s mother and Nadege’s grandmother, thought that there was a similarity in appearance between Lionel and Nadege, in that they both had the same asymmetry of the eyes. Unfortunately, photographs are not available to us for review.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

The strength of this case rests upon the uncanny memories that Nadege had of events in Lionel’s life, starting with her spontaneous memory of the motorcycle accident that ended his life. She also spontaneously remembered the carambar candy that Lionel loved and the color of the embroidery of Lionel’s shirt, which he wore when he was young. If this reincarnation case is accepted, it has the following features:

Soul Planning: Same Family Reincarnation: Nadege was born to Lionel’s sister, Vivian. As such, it appears that Lionel planned his reincarnation to be reunited with his family, including his past life mother, Yvonne, who became his contemporary grandmother.

Reincarnation & Change of Gender: Lionel reincarnated as a Nadege, a female. Despite the change in gender, Lionel and Nadege demonstrated common behaviors, such as generosity and a love of sports.

Physical Resemblance: Yvonne, the mother of Lionel and the grandmother of Nadege, perceived a similarity of appearance between Lionel and Nadege regarding the asymmetry of their eyes. Of course, since this is a same family reincarnation case, the similarity in appearance may have been due to genetic factors.

Still, when Jaako was 18 years of age, Jaako told a friend, referring to Iris: “One day I will marry that girl.” (1)

At the same time, Iris, at 12 years of age, said to a friend, referring to the house that Jaako lived in: “One day I will live in that house.” (2)

As Jaako and Iris both had premonitions that they would be married in the future, these feelings indicate that they knew of a life destiny or plan. Several other reincarnation cases demonstrate that we do indeed plan future lifetimes from the spirit world.

Iris, though, initially married another man, with whom she had 3 children. Later in life, Jaako and Iris met, developed a friendship and fell in love. Iris subsequently divorced her first husband and in 1970, when Jaako was 40 and Iris was 34, they married. They enjoyed a very happy relationship.

Reincarnation, Gender Change & Jaako’s Feminine Side

Jaako had an unusual personality in that he enjoyed hobbies typically enjoyed by women. Though he liked male activities such as playing ice hockey, hunting and driving cars, he also enjoyed playing with dolls. Jaako liked to crochet, sew tablecloths and he was attracted to women’s clothing, which he would purchase for Iris.

Though Jaako was tall and thin, Iris noted that he tended to move in a feminine way. Despite these mannerisms and though he believed in reincarnation, Jaako never expressed a desire to be a woman.

Ian Stevenson noted that in 90 percent of his validated children’s reincarnation cases, gender stays the same from one lifetime to another, which infers that a particular soul has a preferred gender. As we see, Jaako will reincarnate as a woman and it may be that his feminine traits reflect his soul’s preference for female incarnations. It may also be that Jaako is soul who prefers to incarnate as male and female in an alternating fashion, thus experiencing the qualities of both sexes.

Jaako’s is Run Over by a Bus and is Killed

IISIS ReincarnationEvidenceYellowBusFrontViewOn September 13, 1973, when Jaako was 43 years old and only 3 years after marrying Iris, he was accidentally run over by a bus, just after he had exited the vehicle. A rear tire of the bus ran over his chest, neck and then his head. A physician examined Jaako just after the accident and declared him dead at the scene.

Soul Plan: From the Spirit Realm, Jaako as a Spirit Being Predicts his Reincarnation & Telepathically Informs Iris He will be Reborn as her Daughter

Just over a year after Jaako’s death, Iris became remarried to a man named Heikki Jarvi, her third husband. A year later, in September 1975, Iris visited Jaako’s grave and received a telepathic message from him.

Iris heard Jaako’s voice, who told her that he would be reborn to her as a daughter on May 27. Iris was 40 years old at the time. She was not pregnant at the time and she did not expect to get pregnant.

Nonetheless, Iris did become pregnant and gave birth to a girl on May 27, 1976, just as Jaako had predicted. The baby girl was named Taru, who was born less than 3 years after Jaako’s death.

Past Life Memory: Taru Tells her Parents her Name is Jaska

When Taru was only 1 year old, she told her parents that she had been run over by a bus. When she was 1 and a half years old, she told her parents: “I am not Taru; my name is Jaska.” (3) Recall that Jaska was Jaako’s nickname.

This incident is reminiscent of the Francesco Foscari | Wayne Peterson reincarnation case, as Wayne as a child also rejected his given name and insisted on being called “Francesco Foscari.”

When Taru was 3 and a half years old, she told her mother, Iris: “You are not my mother. I was left under a car and died. Don’t you know?” (4)

This is reminiscent of the reincarnation case of Anne Frank | Barbro Karlen, as Barbro also told her parents that they were not her real parents, and that her real parents would come get her and take her to her real home.

Reincarnation, Gender Change & Past Life Memories: Taru Recalls being a Man Killed by a Bus

Taru was then asked additional questions, such as whether she was a boy or girl when she died and what kind of vehicle killed her.

Taru replied: “Of course a boy, a big boy.” Regarding the vehicle, she said, “It was big. First died the stomach, then the head.” “I was taken to the hospital, but I was already dead by that time.” (5)

Tara repeatedly would say: “I was a big man.” (6) When she found a large toy car that had belonged to Jaako, she said that it was hers. She claimed that she had played with this toy car many times in the past.

Taru liked to keep a photo of Jaako by her bed, though she did not state specifically that it was a picture of her. Taru did say, though: “You do not have to be afraid of dying because I have died many times.” (7) She stated that in prior incarnation in Germany, she had a mother named Senya.

Reincarnation & Gender Change: Taru Asks for a Gun, Hockey Stick & Insists She is a Boy

As a child, Taru demonstrated a preference for play that is typical for boys. She played with toy soldiers and while doing so, she would wear a helmet and carry a toy gun. She asked her parents to buy her a real gun and a hockey stick, and she would pretend to drive a car. Recall that Jaako enjoyed hunting, playing hockey and driving cars.

Taru had a strong preference for boy’s clothing, in contrast to her step-sisters, who only liked feminine clothes. In playing with other children, she would never take the role of a girl, rather, she would insist, “I am a boy.” (8)

As an adult, Taru continued to demonstrate masculine dress by always wearing pants and never wearing make up.

Reincarnation & Gender Identity Issues in Two Lifetimes

Taru’s identification with the male gender appears to reflect her prior incarnation as Jaako, who conversely demonstrated feminine traits. This case shows how reincarnation can explain gender identity problems.

Taru’s Jealous Attitude towards her Father

Taru had a marked resentment against Heikki, her father, much like an ex-husband would resent a former wife’s new husband. Once she told Iris, referring to Heikki:

“He can go away and we can live together without him.” (9)

Taru told Heikki directly: “We do not need you. You should go away.” “You are only a visitor here.” (10)

In other words, it appears that Jaako, in the form of Taru, wanted to get rid of Heikki so that Iris could be reclaimed as a wife. Taru’s negative attitude towards Heikki and her possessive manner towards Iris eventually caused Heikki and Iris to live separately for periods of time.

A Past Life Phobia of Buses and of the Date that Jaako Died

IISISReincarnationResearchBusSnowWhen Taru was a year old, she developed a severe fear of buses, tractors and large autos. She would ask Iris to pick her up when a bus approached. In contrast, she was not afraid of small cars. This phobia of buses and large vehicles persisted until she was 19 years old.
Taru also had a superstitious fear of the thirteenth day of the month, which was the day that Jaako was run over by a bus.

Reincarnation & Physical Resemblance

Iris and Jaako’s mother (Taru’s grandmother) both noted a close resemblance in facial features and pigmentation between Jaako and Taru. In addition, Taru grew up to be tall and clumsy, just as Jaako had been. Taru grew to be taller than Heikki, her father.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

This very compelling reincarnation case, if accepted, demonstrates the following features:

Physical Resemblance: Iris and Jaako’s mother both noted a prominent facial resemblance between Jaako and Taru, who also had the common features of being tall and clumsy. Since Jaako reincarnated as the daughter of his surviving wife, Iris, and her new husband, Heikki Jarvi, there is no genetic link between Jaako and Taru. This is a same family reincarnation case based on marriage, not a common genetic line.

As such, this is an impressive case which demonstrates physical resemblance from one incarnation to another.

Soul Plan & Spirit Being Involvement in Reincarnation Case: After Jaako’s death, Iris received a telepathic message from him, while she was visiting his grave. Iris heard Jaako’s voice, who told her that he would be reborn to her as a daughter on May 27. Jaako’s prediction came true with Taru’s birth. As such, Jaako was clearly planning his next incarnation while in the spirit world.

In another indication of how lifetimes are planned before we are born, Jaako and Iris both had premonitions, as teenagers, that they would be married in the future. Jaako, at age 18, made the statement that he would marry Iris. Jaako and Iris did marry 22 years later, when Jaako was 40 years old. Prior to their marriage, Iris had married another man, with whom she had 3 children.

The delay in their premonitions coming true suggests that their marriage was not a self-fulfilling prophecy, rather, it appears that they were both aware of a destined relationship. As such, they likely had known each other before, in prior lifetimes.

Reincarnation cases such as this show that we do indeed make plans for our upcoming lifetimes from the spirit world. These plans become our destiny and love a first sight, or premonitions of marriage, are manifestations of our future life plans coming to fruition.

Please note that all same family reincarnation cases involve planning by the soul.

Same Family Reincarnation Case: Jaako reincarnated as his wife’s daughter, Taru. In other words, a spouse in one lifetime became a daughter in another.

Gender Change: Jaako, a male, reincarnated as a Taru, a female. Of interest, in the two lifetimes, traits typical of both genders were demonstrated. Jaako demonstrated feminine hobbies, such as playing with dolls, sewing and a fondness for women’s clothes. On the other hand, Taru behaved like a boy in playing with soldiers, helmets and guns. While Jaako liked women’s clothes, Taru dressed like a man.

Gender confusion based on past life experiences may be the basis of gender disorders, such as transsexualism.

Soul Plan, Spirit Being, Past Life Behavior & Same Family Reincarnation in the Past Life Story of Pertti Haikio | Samuel Helander

A child is born again into the same family and perfectly remembers his Past Life and exhibits Past Life Phobias. A research case on child reincarnation implying Past Life Behavior and Soul that Plans abetted by cautionary from Spirit Beings by Dr, Ian Stevenson, Md.

How Derived: Past Life Memories in Childhood

Researcher: Ian Stevenson, MD

From: European Cases of the Reincarnation Type, by Ian Stevenson

Article by Walter Semkiw, MD

The Multiple Injuries & Accidents of Pertti Haikio

IISIS reincarnation evidence belgian shepherdPertti Haikio was born on June 3, 1957, in Helsinki Finland. His father had a confusingly similar first name, Pentii, and his mother’s name was Anneli. He had a sister named Marja. He had a number of injuries in childhood which, we shall see, led to memories or phobias in his next incarnation. They are as follows:

Age 3: Pertti slipped out of Anneli’s arms into a bathtub full of water. Pertti almost drowned.

Age 4: While standing next to a construction site, Pertti was struck by a heavy object from the construction site which injured both legs. He was hospitalized for 5 months and had to wear casts on both legs for several months.

Age 5: A dog severely bit Pertti.

IISISReincarnationResearchFallingThroughIceAge 15: Pertti fell off a wharf in Helsinki and landed on ice, which broke. He almost drowned in the icy water, but was able to take off his shoes and clothes and pull himself out. He went home in his underwear. After this incident, Pertti had a fear of being immersed in water.

Perrti is Affectionate & Plays the Guitar

Despite these traumas, Pertti grew up to be a normal and very affectionate person. He acquired a guitar, which he loved to play, and he displayed musical talent.

In 1969, his mother, Anneli, and his father, Pennti, divorced. Anneli later remarried to a man named Reiner.

A Spirit Being & Spiritual Communication of Perrti’s Sudden Death

At the age of 18, in 1975, Pertti unexpectedly died. On the day of his death, his mother, Anneli, who was on a cruise at the time, had a premonition that someone in the family had passed away. Anneli was lying down in her cabin bunk when she suddenly saw her deceased father, who stood silently, then nodded. Anneli told her husband that this meant that someone in the family had passed into the spirit world. It was Pertti who had left the physical world for the spirit world.

A Spirit Being & Soul Plan: Marja has an Announcing Dream and an Abortion is Prevented

Marja, Pertii’s, sister was married to a man with the same first name as their father, Pentti. Her husband’s full name was Pentii Helander. The couple belonged to the Lutheran church.

One or two months after Pertti had died, he appeared in a dream to his sister, Marja. Marja had become pregnant and she was thinking about having an abortion. That is when Pentii appeared to her in a dream and said:

“Keep that child.” (1)

As a result of this dream, Marja allowed the pregnancy to continue. She had a boy, who they named Samuel Helander.

Past Life Memory: Samuel Recognizes Himself as Pertti with Leg Casts

IISIS Reincarnation Evidence Stretch CastSamuel began to speak around the age of one. When he was 1 and a half, someone asked him what his name was. Samuel replied:

“Peltti.” (2) Marja noted that Samuel could not pronounce “r’s,” so she thought he was trying to say “Pertti.”

Samuel told Marja that she was not his mother. Rather, he used “mother” to refer to Anneli, his grandmother and mother of Pertti.

At the age of 2, Samuel saw a photo of Pertii when he was hospitalized for his leg injuries. Samuel said: “This is me when my legs were ill.” (3) Later, Samuel said that both his legs were in plaster, which did occur in the life of Pertii.

Continuing this pattern, up to the age of 10, whenever Samuel would be shown photos of Pertii, he would say: “That’s me.” (4)

Samuel Remembers a Past Life Dog Bite

Another time when looking through photos, Samuel said: “I remember when the dog bit my leg.” (5) He brought up this subject several times, noting how painful it was when he was bitten, even though Samuel, in his contemporary lifetime, was never bitten by a dog. It was Pertti who was severely bitten by a dog when he was about 5 years old.

Samuel Visits his Past Life Grave & Says that it is His

When Anneli took Samuel to the cemetery where Pertti was buried, when gazing at Pertti’s grave, Samuel repeatedly said, “That is my grave.” (6) When Marja was taking him to the same cemetery, Samuel reiterated, “Now we are going to my grave.” (7)

Key Past Life Memory: Samuel Remembers a Party from a Past Incarnation

IISIS Evidence Reincarnation Colorful Party HatIn the memories that are described above, a skeptic would propose that in seeing photos of Pertti, Samuel, for some reason, simply identified with Pertti. The following memory represents a very important one, as it is extremely unlikely that Samuel could have known about the following incident through normal means.

When he was about 3 years old, Samuel told his parents about a time when he and his father went to a house near a kiosk. He said that they wore different colored hats and that they had brought a guitar. Samuel said that this house near the kiosk caught on fire and they had to go home.

This did not correspond with any events in the life of Samuel, but Marja remembered that Samuel’s description matched an event in Pertti’s life. In 1975, about a year before Pertti had died, a friend had put on a party at a house near a railroad kiosk. Samuel and his father went to the party, but a fire broke out in the attic of this house and the party goers had to disperse.

No one had told Samuel, whose age at this time was only 3, of this obscure incident in Pertti Haikio’s life. Of all of Samuel’s statements, this is the most convincing as being a past life memory, a memory from his lifetime as Pertti Haikio.

Samuel Identifies his Past Life Father

One day, Samuel saw a photo of Pennti and Anneli Haikio, the parents of Pertti Haikio. Recall that Anneli was also Marja’s mother and thus Samuel’s grandmother. Photos of Pennti and Anneli were rarely shown in the household, as Anneli’s second husband, Reiner, was a jealous type and he didn’t like pictures of Pennti, his wife’s first husband, on display.

When looking at a picture of Pennti Haikio, Samuel said, “This is my father.” (8) Pennti, of course, was the father of Pertii, not Samuel.

On another occasion, when looking at a photo of Pennti Haikio and Anneli, Samuel said, “There is Daddy and Grandma too.” (9) Again, Pennti Haikio was Perrtii’s daddy, not Samuel’s. Anneli was Pertii’s mother and Samuel’s grandmother.

Samuel Finds his Past Life Guitar, Corduroy Jacket and Watch

IISIS Reincarnation Research Bus GuitarRecall that Perrti Haikio was fond of playing the guitar. After he died, his guitar was placed in a box and put in a closet. No one in the family had told Samuel about this guitar. None the less, Ian Stevenson writes, regarding Samuel and the guitar:

“He looked for it, found it, and said that it was his.” (10)

After Pertti Haikio had died, all his clothes were disposed of except for a corduroy jacket, which was kept in a closet. One day, Marja, his mother, and Anneli, his grandmother and Perrti’s mother, brought it out and were discussing what to do with it. One of them suggested that it should be given away.

Samuel, who was only 3 years at this time, became agitated and shouted at his mother and grandmother, stating that the corduroy jacket was his and that it should not be given away.

Pertti had a watch that was broken and that was without hands. After he died Anneli put it in a drawer filled with other discarded items. Anneli once opened this drawer in Pertti’s presence. He saw the broken watch and claimed it, saying it was his. Samuel subsequently kept the watch either under his pillow or in a drawer under his bed, apparently so that no one could ever take if from him again.

Samuel’s Past Life Phobia of Water

IISISReincarnationResearchFrozenPondSamuel had a great fear of being bathed, to that point that is mother, Marja, described him as being “panic stricken” when being bathed. Samuel even feared showers. Samuel’s fear of water persisted until he was at least until he was 23 years of age. Even as an adult, Samuel would not go swimming due to his phobia.

Recall that when Pertti was 3 years old, he slipped out of Anneli’s arms into a bathtub full of water and almost drowned. At age 15, Pertti fell off a wharf in Helsinki and landed on ice, which broke. He also almost drowned in the icy water.

Samuel’s fear of water appears to be related to Pertti’s experiences of almost drowning, once when he fell into a bathtub when he was 3 years old and again at the age of 15, when he fell into icy water.

Past Life Behavior: Samuel Replicates Pertti’s Ritual of Kissing Each Family Member at Christmas

Pertti was a very affectionate person and he created a tradition at Christmas where he would go around the room, hold each family member arm and kiss them on the cheek.

At the age of 2 1/2, Samuel spontaneously demonstrated the same behavior at Christmas, taking each family member by the arm and kissing them on the cheek.

Reincarnation & Physical Resemblance: Pertti and Samuel have the Same Appearance & Postures

Marja, Pertti’s sister and Samuel’s mother, noted that Pertti and Samuel had the same smile and that they had the same physique. Pertti had the tendency of standing with one foot in front of the other with his hand on his hip. Samuel had the same habitual posture. Both Pertti and Samuel had a habit of walking with their hands behind their backs. Marja did not have these physical habits.

Marja Believes Samuel is the Reincarnation of Pertti

Based on her experiences and observations, Marja came to believe that her son Samuel is her deceased brother, Pertti reborn.

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Same Family Reincarnation: Pertti reincarnated as the son of his sister, Marja, to rejoin his family. All same family reincarnation cases involve planning by the soul from the spirit world of a coming incarnation.

Spirit Being & Soul Plan: Pertii, from the spirit world, provided Marja with an announcing dream, advising her not to have an abortion. Pertti did so as he was planning to reincarnate as Marja’s child, who would be named Samuel.

Another example of a spirit being in this case involves Anneli, Pertti’s mother, who was on a cruise when she suddenly saw her deceased father, who stood silently, then nodded. Anneli told her husband that this meant that someone in the family had passed into the spirit world. It was Pertti who had left the physical world for the spirit world.

Phobia from a Past Lifetime: Samuel had a phobia of bathing and swimming, which appear to have resulted in Pertii having near drowned in a bathtub when he was three and when he fell into icy water when he was 15 years old.

Physical Resemblance: Marja, Pertti’s sister and Samuel’s mother, noted that Pertti and Samuel had the same smile, the same physique and the tendency of standing with one foot in front of the other with his hand on his hip, as well as walking with their hands behind their backs. Since this is a same family reincarnation case, physical resemblances may be due to genetic factors.

Blanche Bautista Reincarnation Story: A Lullaby from a Past Lifetime

A same family reincarnation research case of Dr. Ian Stevenson tinged with a touch of Xenoglossy. A little girl named Blanche reincarnated as her younger sister who is also named Blanche and at age 5 the second Blanche started singing a French lullaby which a former French servant had sung to the first Blanche.

Same Family Reincarnation and a Case of Xenoglossy-Language from a Past Life

This case demonstrates that people can reincarnate within the same family. It also represents a case of xenoglossy, for as a child, Blanche Bautista recited a song in French, a language she did not learn by normal means. In addition, a physical resemblance was noted from one incarnation to another.

Blanche of Italy

IISISReincarnationResearchStPetersFlornida Bautista was a captain in the Italian army. He and his wife lived in Rome, pictured to the right, where they had a child named Blanche. They had a domestic servant from Switzerland named Mary, who only spoke French.

Mary sang a French lullaby to Blanche to put her to sleep. Blanche eventually learned to sing this French lullaby. Unfortunately, Blanche died in 1902 when she was only 2 years old. After Blanche died, Mary left the family and went back home to Switzerland

Blanche Communicates from the Spirit Realm

Three years later, Signora Bautista, Flornida’s wife, was pregnant again. When she was three months pregnant, Signora Bautista had a vision in which she received a message that Blanche was returning to the family.

Captain Flornida Bautista explained that in August 1905, he and his wife were lying in bed, fully awake. He then said that his wife reported seeing a figure who appeared to be their little daughter, Blanche.

In the vision, the little girl joyfully said, “Mama, I am coming back.” The figure then disappeared. (1)

Blanche Reincarnates & Sings a Past Life French Lullaby

IISISReincarnationResearchSingA baby girl was born in February 1906, who was also named Blanche. The parents noted that the second Blanche looked very similar to the first, with dark, round eyes and curly black hair.

At the age of five, the second Blanche started singing the French lullaby that was previously taught to the first Blanche by the family’s former servant, Mary. This French lullaby had not been sung or heard in their home for nine years. No one around the second Blanche knew or spoke French.

When her parents asked who taught her the French lullaby, the second Blanche stated, “No one, I just know it by myself.” She then continued singing the lullaby. (2)

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Recitative Xenoglossy: This case demonstrates what Ian Stevenson, MD termed recitative xenoglossy, where an individual can speak or recite a language that has not been learned by normal means.

Responsive xenoglossy, in contrast, involves an individual who not only can recite a unlearned language, but also respond and converse in the unlearned language.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: This case shows that people can reincarnate within the same family, presumably bound by emotional and karmic ties.

Physical Resemblancee: Flornida and Signora Bautista noticed a clear resemblance between Blanche 1 and 2. This could, of course, be attributed to genetic factors. Images of the two girls, unfortunately, are unavailable.

Spirit Being Involvement: This case provides evidence of spirit beings, as it appears that the spirit of the first Blanche came to Signora Bautista and communicated that she would be born to her parents again.

Please note that image provided above is not an actual photo of Blanche Bautista, but a dramatization.

The Reincarnation Case of a Nazi Bomber Pilot | Carl Edon

A Christian Father’s investigation into his son’s reincarnation stories of being a Nazi pilot in the Second World War named Robert. Carl Edon the reincarnation has very typical German features vastly in contrast to his whole family, Robert was a German and Carl Edon was British.

edon-new-mirror-72How Derived: Past Life Memories in Childhood

Researchers: James Edon, Dr. Nicholas McClean-Rice and Ian Stevenson, MD-Video Provided Below

A Christian Father Investigates his Son’s Past Life Memories of Being a Nazi Pilot

Carl Edon was born on December 29, 1972 in Middlesbrough, England to James and Valerie Edon. The Edons belonged to the Church of England and as such, they were Christians who did not believe in reincarnation. Initially, they were baffled by statements made by Carl regarding his being a German bomber pilot. Eventually, his father, James Edon, a bus driver by profession, became the first investigator of this reincarnation case.

Similarities to James Leininger Reincarnation Case

In many ways, this story is similar to the reincarnation case of James Huston, Jr. | James Leininger, who as a child remembered a past lifetime as a United States fighter pilot who died in combat in the Pacific, during the Battle of Iwo Jima. Just as James Edon became an investigator of his son’s past life memories, Bruce Leininger, the father of James Leininger, became the investigator of his son’s past life memories. Bruce was a devout Christian, who had difficulty in considering reincarnation as an explanation for his son’s memories, though he did become a believer in the end.

Carl Edon’s Past Life Knowledge of Nazi Symbols & German Aircraft

reincarnationpastliferesearchholocaustswastikaJames Edon vouched that their family did not have many books in their home and they had none on World War II. Like in the Leininger case, Carl’s parents maintained that Carl had not learned details of World War II from books or television programs.

James Edon noted that when Carl would give details about German air force planes, James Edon himself would have to check out books at the municipal library to confirm that Carl’s statements were correct.

An article on this case was published in the British magazine, Women’s Own, on August 7, 1982. A German reporter interviewed the family and published an article on this reincarnation case in the Berlin newspaper, Morgenpost, on July 17, 1983.

Hitler Nazi SaluteIan Stevenson, MD, worked with a colleague in England, Dr. Nicholas McClean-Rice, who went to interview the Edon family in January 1984, when Carl was 11 years old. On June 13, 1993, Ian Stevenson himself traveled to Middlesbrough and had a lengthy meeting with the family, at a time when Carl was 20 years of age.

Carl Says he Crashed an Airplane, Strikes a Past Life Nazi Salute & Draws Swastikas and a German Eagle

In 1974, when Carl was almost 2 years of age and just as he had began to speak, he began to say, “I crashed a plane through a window.” (1) He said this frequently and as he grew older, he added details. When he was initially speaking of this past lifetime, he would spontaneously make a Nazi salute, with the right arm raised and straight.

GermanEagleCarl told his parents that he was on a bombing mission over England when he crashed. When he learned to draw, which occurred when he was 2-3 years old, he started to draw swastikas, badges and insignias. Carl would draw airplanes and put swastikas on them.

He drew an eagle, which his parents described as the “German eagle.” Carl told his parents that his name was Robert when he flew the bomber and that his father’s name was Fritz. His parents noted that from 1974 to 1976, Carl spoke abundantly about flying his German plane.

Past Life Knowledge: Carl Draws an Aircraft Cockpit and Explains Gauges

At the age of 6, Carl drew a panel of an airplane cockpit and he described the purposes of the different gauges. He said that in the cockpit, there was a red foot pedal, which was used to release bombs.

Past Life Memories: Carl Flew a Messerschmitt to Bomb England

Carl told his parents that when he crashed through the window, he was flying a bomber called a Messerschmitt. An image of a Messerschmitt bomber is provided below and to the right. He said his plane had a number, which was 101 or 104—his parents could not remember the exact number.

Me 264 V 1, Fernbomber, Aufklärer. Werkfoto Messerschmitt (MBB) 6/264

Carl’s knowledge of details of German planes is again very reminiscent of James Huston, Jr. | James Leininger reincarnation case, as little James Leininger had innate knowledge of American and Japanese aircraft from World War II, knowledge that he did not learn by normal means.

When the Edon family was watching a documentary on the Holocaust, Carl said that his air force base was near a concentration camp that was featured on the program. His parents thought the concentration camp Carl referred to was Auschwitz, but they couldn’t remember for sure.

Robert Lost a Leg in his Crash and Carl has a Corresponding Past Life Birthmark

Carl said that he was on a bombing run when he crashed and that he had lost his right leg in the crash. Ian Stevenson had great interest in cases in which a person who suffered a traumatic wound in a past lifetime would reincarnate with a birthmark or scar at the location of the past life wound. In this case, Stevenson noted that Carl had a very large, protruding birthmark on the right groin, and he speculated whether his may have been related to Robert losing his right leg in the crash.

Carl Does the Goose Step, Stands at Attention & Wants to Move to Germany

As noted, as soon as Carl started talking about his past lifetime in which he crashed through a window, he would strike a Nazi salute, with his right arm raised and straight.

Nazi Goose StepWhen walking, he would do the Nazi goose step, a march with knees held straight. When he did the goose step at school, his British schoolmates teased him terribly and they called him a Nazi. This teasing led to Carl ceasing to talk about his past lifetime when he was 10 or 11.

When standing, he would maintain and erect posture and he would have his hands by his side, like a little soldier. He was compulsively tidy and neat, which Ian Stevenson saw as a German trait.

Carl told his parents that he wanted to go to and live in Germany. This is similar to the case of a Japanese soldier who reincarnated in Burma who wanted to move to Japan.

Whereas his parents preferred tea, a British custom, Carl preferred coffee, a German custom. He also had a fondness for sausages, which are very popular in Germany. When at school a play was being rehearsed that had a German character, Carl insisted that he be cast as the German.

Carl’s Past Life German Appearance

Whereas all his family members had brown hair, Carl was very blonde. Carl had blue eyes, like his mother, though most of his family members who had brown eyes. Carl had the appearance of what Hitler esteemed as traits of a superior race.

Validation of Carl’s Past Life Memories and His Death

Unfortunately, Carl’s description of a German pilot named Robert crashing through a window in England could not be confirmed by historical records at the time Ian Stevenson published this case. This is in contrast to the James Huston, Jr. | James Leininger reincarnation case, which was historically validated through the meticulous research of Bruce Leininger.

Tragically, Carl died in 1995 at the age of 22, a victim of murder.

Subsequent Investigation of the Edon Reincarnation Case

The English newspaper, the Evening Gazette ran an article regarding the Edon case on January 15, 2002, which was updated in 2013. This article is provided below:

The Uncanny Case of Carl Edon

edon-new-mirror-72For years before he was brutally murdered Carl Edon tried to convince his family that he was reincarnated.

Now startling new photos, unearthed after dogged detective work by a local historian, reveal a chilling resemblance between Carl and a German airman, Heinrich Richter, buried in a Thornaby cemetery.

Richter, a turret gunner, perished when his Dornier bomber crashed onto a South Bank railway during a raid exactly 60 years ago today… January 15, 1942.

The wreckage of the Dornier, damaged by anti-aircraft fire before hitting a barrage balloon, was discovered in 1997 buried off Tilbury Road – only a few hundred yards from the spot where Carl was stabbed to death two years earlier.

When the bomber was dug up with Richter’s remains inside, Carl’s parents, Jim and Val, shuddered as they recalled their son’s eerie tales of reincarnation.

But only now – as the Gazette reveals for the first time what the airman looked like – are the Coulby Newham couple looking at their son’s claims in a new light.

“It’s got to be him,” said a stunned Val, when shown a photo of the German in full uniform shortly before the crash over Teesside.

“The resemblance across the eyes and the nose is uncanny.

“Maybe this is the final piece of the jigsaw,” she said.

edon-new-mirror-72The striking picture was obtained after Guisborough historian and author Bill Norman tracked down Richter’s relatives in Germany for a new book.

An uncanny likeness between the two young men and the fact that they share the same scene of death more than 50 years apart are just two of the strange coincidences which have spooked Carl’s parents.

During the excavation of the German bomber it was discovered that Richter’s leg, still inside a flying boot, had been severed in the wreckage, explained Val.

“Carl used to say he lost his right leg in the crash,” she said. “And he had a birth mark at the top of that leg.”

On the day her rail worker son was murdered – by Gary Vinter, later jailed for life – he had been to Skinningrove to collect train carriages.

“The day the Dornier crashed it had bombed Skinningrove first and flew on to Middlesbrough following the railway line,” said Val.

Carl and Richter had made the same journey the day they died.

“There are just too many strange coincidences, and I think if Carl was here he’d be saying ‘Do you believe me now’?”

One of the country’s leading researchers into psychic phenomena admitted he was amazed at the details surrounding the two deaths.

“We research a lot of reincarnation cases, but not many as remarkable as this one sounds,” said David Christie-Murray, member of the Society for Psychical Research, founded in 1882 and now based in London.

“It seems to me to be a fascinating case, and one I’m sure the SPR would certainly be interested in investigating if the family wanted to.”

Carl’s experiences are already detailed in a book called The Children That Time Forgot by Peter and Mary Harrison, and on a US TV show. They’ve also been well documented in British and German newspapers, including the Gazette when Carl was just nine years old.

But his parents said he suffered taunts at school as a result of his ‘past life’ claims.

“When that started happening Carl didn’t like talking about it any more,” said his mum.

“But he always believed it.”

His dad told the Gazette he was cynical at first. “I was sick of Carl going on about it,” he said. “But I probably believe more in reincarnation now.”

The Dornier’s three other crew were buried in Thornaby after the crash in 1942, but Richter was not laid to rest alongside his colleagues until the plane was ‘rediscovered’ 55 years later by water board workers.

Commentary on the Evening Gazette Article regarding the Carl Edon Reincarnation Case

The Evening Gazette article states that Heinrich Richter lost a leg in the crash of his plane, consistent with Carl’s claim that he lost a leg in the plane crash that led to his death. Recall that Carl had a large birthmark at his right groin, which could be related to loss of a limb.

Inconsistencies include Carl’s claim that his name was Robert, not Heinrich, and that he was a pilot, not a gunner. It may be that Carl was confusing his name and function on the plane with another crew member on the fatal, or perhaps another, flight.

Key Points & Principles of Reincarnation

Change in Nationality and Ethnic Affiliation: In his past lifetime, Robert was a German air force bomber pilot, while Carl was born into a British family. This case shows that one can reincarnate into the land of one’s own enemy from a prior incarnation.

Consider whether a German pilot would go to war with England if that pilot knew that in a subsequent incarnation, this very pilot would reincarnate as an English citizen?

This is reminiscent of the reincarnation case of John B. Gordon | Jeff Keene, in which an American Civil War Confederate officer reincarnated as a Connecticut Union Yankee. Jeff has noted that in his contemporary lifetime, he has ancestors that fought the Confederates. Jeff has even mused that his Northern relatives may even have fought against him, as John B. Gordon, in his past lifetime.

The Anne Frank | Barbro Karlen case also very poignantly shows how illogical war really is, as Anne Frank was persecuted as a German Jew and died in a concentration camp, while in her contemporary lifetime, Barbro was born into a Christian family in Sweden.

Physical Appearance: Ian Stevenson, MD, noted that Carl had typical German, Aryan physical features, such as very blonde hair and blue eyes, in contrast to most of his immediate family members.

Similarly, Stevenson noted that in several cases that he researched in Burma, now called Myanmar, several Burmese children remembered past lifetimes as British or American air force pilots who were killed in Burma, a Japanese conquest during World War II.

Whereas Burmese children typically have dark hair, eyes and skin, these children who remembered Caucasian past lifetimes had blonde hair. These cases suggest that though race and ethnic affiliation can change from one incarnation to another, physical features from a past lifetime, such as hair color, can be retained. Retention of such features may be facilitated by the soul’s energy template, which is discussed under Principles of Reincarnation.

edon-new-mirror-72In the Evening Gazette article, Carl’s parents reported that they saw an uncanny resemblance between Carl and Heinrich Richter. The image comparisons provided, a resemblance is seen, though Richter is much thinner than Carl.

Past Life Birthmark: As noted, Carl had a large birthmark at his right groin, which could be related to the Heinrich Richter’s loss of a leg in his plane crash.

A Note on Neo-Nazism and Reincarnation

The reincarnation case of Robert | Carl Edon can provide insight on the Neo-Nazi movement. Just as Carl was attracted to Germany and things German, those drawn to Neo-Nazism may have also had past lives in Nazi Germany. Though this may provide insight on why people may be attracted to Neo-Nazism, reincarnation research also reveals the flaw in the logic of Neo-Nazis.

That flaw is that souls can change religion, race, nationality and ethnic affiliation from one incarnation to another. In the case of Carl Edon, we noted that nationality changed; a German pilot reincarnated in the country that was once the enemy, England.

Similarly, a Neo-Nazi can reincarnate as a Jew, a dark-skinned African or in any other race or ethnic group that the Neo-Nazi is prejudiced against. Not only is this possible, but from a karmic point of view, it is quite likely.
